In this page, you can map TCD and TCD variant codes to the parts defined in the system. Tell me more.
Select the “Edit Part Level TCD” link at the bottom of the “Edit Location Details” page.
The “Edit Part Level TCD” page appears.
The system displays the following in the “Supplier Information” group box:
Supplier # |
The supplier selected in the “Select Supplier” page whose part level TCD details you need to modify. |
Supplier Name |
The name of the supplier. |
Enter the following fields in the “Part Information” group box:
Part # |
The part to which the TCD codes are mapped here (Alphanumeric, 40). Ensure that this is a valid part as defined in the “Create Parts Main Information” activity of the “Part Administration’ business component. |

Click the “Get Details” pushbutton provided along side, to retrieve TCD details for the specified part number.

Enter the following fields in the “Part Information”group box:
Part Type |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the part type for which the TCD details are entered here. The system maps all the parts belonging to the specified part type with the TCD codes entered in this page. The system displays all the part types that are already defined in the “Create Parts Main Information” activity of the “Part Administration’ business component. The system sets the field to “All” as default. Leave this field blank to map the parts irrespective of the part type. |
Map To Part Type |
Check this box to map all the parts belonging to the part type specified with the TCD codes entered here. Mandatory, if “Part #” field is left blank. |
Note: Either the “Part #” field or the “Map To Part Type” field should be entered.
Enter the following fields in the “TCD Details” multiline:
TCD # |
A unique number that identifies the Taxes, Charges and Discounts (TCD) that is applicable to the parts supplied by the selected supplier (Alphanumeric, 25). Ensure that this number is already defined in the “Create TCD Code” activity of the “Taxes Charges and Discounts” business component and is in the “Active” status. Help facility available. |
TCD Variant # |
A unique number that identifies the variant for the TCD number specified in the “TCD # field (Alphanumeric, 25). Mandatory, if the TCD number is entered. For Example, 15%, 20% or n% can be the variants of the TCD code: Sales Tax. |
Note: Ensure the following:
The TCD variant number is already defined in the “Create TCD Code” activity of the “Taxes Charges and Discounts” business component.
The TCD Variant is already mapped to the TCD number specified here in the “Create TCD Code” activity of the “Taxes Charges and Discounts” business component.
The TCD Variant is in the “Active” status.
The same combination of TCD number and TCD Variant number is not entered in the multiline.
The system displays the following:

The textual description of the corresponding TCD. |

The textual description of the TCD variant. |
TCD Type |
The type of TCD, which could be "Tax", "Charge" or "Discount". |
Basis |
The basis on which the TCD is calculated, which could be “Flat”, “Unit Rate” or “Percentage”. |
Enter the following in the “TCD Details” multiline.
Charge Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of charges that may be incurred for procuring the part from the supplier. The drop-down list box displays the following: Notional and Payable. By default, this field is set as ‘Payable'. Note: 1) The charge type can be ‘Notional’ only for TCDs with Basis ‘Percentage’. 2) This field is relevant for TCD type ‘Charge’ only. |
The “TCD Details” multiline displays the following.
TCD Rate |
The rate of TCD that is applicable to the supplier. For example, if the basis is percentage, then the percentage value say 15 or 16 must be entered here. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline, to edit contact information and the pay to supplier details.
Click the "Edit Part Level TCD” pushbutton, to map the TCD codes to the specified part or part type.
To proceed, carry out the following
Select the "Edit Contact Information" link at the bottom of the page, to modify the supplier contact information.
Select the "Edit Pay To/Bill To Supplier Details" link at the bottom of the page, to modify the supplier pay details.
Modifying part level TCD – An overview
Taxes, Charges and Discounts (TCD) refer to various additional charges that you can add or subtract from the amount that is payable to the supplier. TCD and TCD variants are identified using unique codes and are defined in the “Create TCD Codes” activity of the “Taxes Charges and Discounts” business component.
In this page, you can map TCD and TCD variant codes to the parts that are already defined in the system. You can map only those TCD and TCD variant codes, which are in the “Active” status. You can specify the part, which is already defined in the system, and map the TCD and TCD variant codes to it.
You can also select a part type and map the TCD and TCD variant codes to it. When you select a part type, the system maps the TCD and TCD variant codes to all the parts that belong to the selected part type. The system displays TCD details such as the TCD description, TCD variant description, TCD type, basis and TCD rate, in this page.

You can map the tax, charge and discount to each part that is already defined in the system. Instead of selecting each part to map the TCD details, you can specify the part type for which the TCD details need to be mapped and check the “Map to Part Type” box. The system maps the TCD details for all the parts that belong to the specified part type.
Set the appropriate option in the “Part Type” field in the “TCD Details” multline, to map the TCD details.
Check the “Map To Part Type” box in the “TCD Details” multline.
Click the “Edit Part Level TCD” pushbutton, to map TCD details to the specified part type.
