This page allows you to modify the details of the stock conversion document. Tell me more.

The “Edit Stock Conversion” page appears.

The system displays the following:

Date Format

The format in which the date fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the “User Preferences” business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default.

The system displays the following in the “Stock Conversion Information” group box:

Stock Conversion #

The number assigned to the stock conversion document to be modified.

Category

Use the drop-down list box to modify the stock conversion document category. The system lists all the quick codes of the type “Category” defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity and that are in “Active” status or “Inactive” status if a inactive category is associated with the stock conversion document.

Status

Use the drop-down list box to modify the status of the stock conversion document. The system provides the following options:

 
  • Draft – indicates that some more information has to be entered in the stock conversion document.

 
  • Fresh – indicates that all the information pertaining to the stock conversion document has been entered.

 

  • Cancel - indicates that the stock conversion document must be canceled.

The system displays the following:

Warehouse #

The code identifying the warehouse.

Warehouse Description

A textual description of the warehouse.

User Status

Use the drop-down list box to modify the user-defined status assigned to the stock conversion document. The system lists all the quick codes of the type “User Status” defined in the ”Create Quick Codes” activity, that are in “Active” status or “Inactive” status if a inactive user status is associated with the stock conversion document.

The system displays the following field in the “Storage Information” multiline:

Conversion Type

Indicates whether ownership or stock status of the part was changed through stock conversion. More details

 

Condition Change?

Indicates whether condition of the part was changed through stock conversion. More details

Zone/Bin Change?

Indicates whether storage location was changed for the part through stock conversion. More details

Part #

The number identifying the part to be converted (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. This number must have been defined in the “Create Parts Main Information” activity of the “Part Administration” business component and must be in “Active” status.

Note: The part # must not be frozen for the PICC task.

The system displays the following in the “Storage Information” multiline:

Part Description

The description of the part.

Quantity

The number of units of the part to be converted. Mandatory. Ensure that the value in this field is greater than zero.

Note: Fractions can be entered, if the UOM has been set to “Allow fractions” in the “Create UOM” activity of the “Unit of Measurement Administration” business component.

The system displays the following:

Stock UOM

The unit of measurement of the part that is to be converted.

From Zone #

The number identifying the zone in which the part converted is stored in the warehouse (Alphanumeric, 10). This zone number must have been defined in the “Create Warehouse Information” activity of the “Storage Administration” business component and must be in “Active” status.

Note: The zone # must not be frozen for the PICC task.

Note: Ensure that this field is not left blank, if the warehouse selected is of “Normal” type. You can leave this field blank, if warehouse selected is of “Free” type.

From Bin #

The number identifying the bin in which the part converted is stored in the zone (Alphanumeric, 10). This bin number must have been defined in the “Create Warehouse Information” activity of the “Storage Administration” business component and must be in “Active” status.

Note: The bin # must not be frozen for the PICC task.

Note: Ensure that this field is not left blank, if the zone selected is of “Normal” type. You can leave this field blank, if zone selected is of “Free” type.

From Stock Status

Use the drop-down list box to select the current stock status of the part. The system lists all the predefined and user-defined statuses that are identified in the UDSS business component.

Note: The Stock Status for which Status Attribute "Scrap" is mapped as "Yes" is not loaded, though it is mapped to the transaction "Stock Conversion".

Permitted Stock Conversions

From Trading Partner #

The current owner of the part.

By default, this field displays the trading partner defined for the warehouse, zone, bin, part #, stock status and, customer/supplier combination, if the From Stock Status is owned by a customer/supplier. However, if multiple trading partners are defined for this combination, the system does not default this field. In this situation, it becomes mandatory for the user to specify the trading partner.

Note: 1) The customer/supplier you specify must be valid and Active as defined in the Customer/Supplier component.  2) However, do not specify any trading partner, if From Stock Status is ‘Internal’.

To Stock Status

Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the part to which it is to be converted. The system lists all the predefined and user-defined statuses identified in the UDSS business component.

Note: 1) The To Stock Status must not be the same as the From Stock Status for the part that you wish to convert. 2) The Stock Status for which Status Attribute "Scrap" is mapped as "Yes" is not loaded, though it is mapped to the transaction "Stock Conversion". 3)The stock status of a part can be converted from stock status with Ownership attribute is set to "Internal” to stock status “PBH” only if the part is defined as “Under PBH” for a supplier in the “Maintain Supplier PBH Mapping” activity of the “Supplier “ business component. 4) For the Warehouse – Zone – Bin combination, the storage area should be mapped to the supplier for converting the stock status to “PBH”. 5) For None-Controlled parts, the storage area should be mapped “Exclusively” for the supplier.

To Trading Partner #

The new owner of the part consequent to stock conversion.

Note: 1) Do not specify any trading partner, if To Stock Status is ‘Internal’. However, if the stock status is associated with a customer/supplier, it is mandatory that you provide a value in this field. 2) If From Stock Status and To Stock Status are associated with the same supplier/customer, From Trading Partner and To Trading Partner must be the same. 3) The customer/supplier you specify must be valid and Active as defined in the Customer/Supplier component

To Zone

The zone in the warehouse to which the part must be transferred after conversion. (Alphanumeric, 10). This zone number must have been defined for the warehouse in the “Create Warehouse Information” activity of the “Storage Administration” business component and must be in “Active” status.

Note: You must specify zone #, if the warehouse selected is of “Normal” type. Conversely, you must leave this field blank, if the warehouse selected is of “Free” type. The zone you specify here must not be frozen for PICC task.

To Bin #

The bin in the zone of the warehouse to which the part must be transferred after conversion. (Alphanumeric, 10). This bin number must have been defined for the warehouse # and zone # in the “Create Warehouse Information” activity of the “Storage Administration” business component and must be in “Active” status.

Note:1) You must specify the bin #, if the zone selected is of “Normal” type. Conversely, you can leave this field blank, if the warehouse or the zone selected is of “Free” type. 2) From Zone# - From Bin# and To Zone# -To Bin# combination must not be the same. 3) The Trading Partner # must be mapped to To Zone #/To Bin #, if “Storage allocation for External Ownership Parts” is set as ‘Manual’ in the Stock Maintenance component. Further, if the part is a None-Controlled part, the Trading Partner # must be mapped to To Zone #/To Bin # as ‘Exclusive’, if “Storage allocation for External Ownership Parts” is set as ‘Manual’. Conversely, if the part is not a None-Controlled part, the zone # and the bin # must not be ‘Exclusive’ to any other trading partner. 4) If the To trading partner is a customer/supplier, the zone # and the bin # must be set as “Only At” for the part #, To Stock Status and To trading partner combination. 5) The bin you specify here must not be frozen for the PICC task.

From Trading Partner Type

The type of From Trading Partner, such as Internal, Customer, or Supplier.

To Trading Partner Type

The type of To Trading Partner, such as Internal, Customer, or Supplier.

To Trading Partner Type

Additional comments pertaining to the modification of stock conversion (Alphanumeric, 255).Zoom facility available.

Part Control Type

The control type of the part like whether the part is serial number controlled or lot number controlled or both serial number and lot number controlled.

Line #

The sequential number generated by the system for every line containing a part number.

Remarks

Additional comments pertaining to the modification of stock conversion (Alphanumeric, 255).

User Defined Detail – 1

Any other additional details pertaining to the modification of the stock conversion (Alphanumeric, 15).

File Name

The name of the file.

The system sets the status of the Stock Conversion document as ‘Draft’, if details of converted parts that are Serial-Controlled or/and Lot-Controlled are not provided in the Edit Serial #/Lot #/Condition Details” page. However, the status is set to ‘Fresh’, if you have provided serial # and lot # of converted parts.

Updates the ownership of the part as “Supplier in the “Aircraft” business component for all parts whose stock status is converted to “PBH”.

Sets the Conversion Type flag for the stock conversion document as illustrated in the table:

Sometimes, when the part is None-Controlled / Serial-Controlled /Lot-Controlled, its stock status in the “Stock Status From” field has the ownership attribute set to “Internal”, and the “Stock Status To” field set to “PBH”, in the “Edit Stock Conversion” business component. In such instances, the system ensures that the part is defined as “Under PBH”, in the “Supplier” business component, and has a valid storage area mapping.

Note: On conversion of the stock status, the system updates the ownership of the part from ‘Owned’ to ‘Supplier’, in the “Stock Maintenance” business component.

If a serial number controlled, lot number controlled or both serial-controlled and lot-controlled part whose picking strategy is set as "Manual", is added in the multiline or its order quantity is modified, the system maintains the status of the stock conversion document as "Draft", until the serial number and lot number details of the part are entered.

Sometimes, a serial number controlled, lot number controlled or both serial and lot-controlled part, whose picking strategy is set in the “Part Administration” business component, is added in the Storage Information multiline or its order quantity modified. In such instances, the system must apply the picking strategy for these records, and store the serial number and lot number details of the line items.

Created By

The login user ID of the person who has created the stock conversion document

Created Date

The date on which the stock conversion document was created.

Last Modified By

The login user ID of the person who last modified the stock conversion document.

Last Modified Date

The date on which the stock conversion document was last modified.

This page allows you to modify details of a stock conversion document that exists in the .’Draft’ or ‘Fresh’ status. You can record trading partner details, storage details and quantity of parts you wish to convert.
