Entering serial #/lot #/condition details for stock conversion
This page allows you to edit the serial number and lot number details of the part the status of which must be converted. Tell me more.
Select the “Edit Serial #/ Lot #/ Condition Details” link in the “Edit Stock Conversion” page.
The “Edit Serial # / Lot #/ Condition Details” page appears.
The system displays the following:
Date Format |
The format in which the date fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the “User Preferences” business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
The system displays the following in the “Stock Conversion Information” group box:
Stock Conversion # |
The number assigned to the stock conversion document. |
Warehouse # |
The number identifying the warehouse in which the parts received are to be stored. |
Warehouse Description |
The description of the warehouse. |
Enter the following field in the “Stock Conversion Information” group box:

Use the drop-down list box to select the line number of the stock conversion document which contains the part for which you wish to enter the serial or lot number details. The drop-down list box displays only those line numbers from the stock conversion document that contain Lot-Controlled and/or Serial-Controlled parts. Select ‘All’ from the drop-down list box to display all Lot-Controlled and/or Serial-Controlled parts from the stock conversion document in the “Storage Information” multiline. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton, to retrieve the details of the selected part.
The “Storage Information” multiline displays the following:
PCT

Indicates the part control type of the converted part.

Enter the following fields in the “Storage Information” multiline:
Line # |
The line number of the part record in the stock conversion document. |
The multiline displays the following.
Part # |
The number identifying the part, the status of which must be converted. |
Enter the following fields in the “Storage Information” multiline:
Lot # |
The number identifying the lot number issued by the manufacturer (Alphanumeric, 40). Help facility available. |
Note: At least one lot number must be entered, if the received part number is lot number controlled.
Manufacturer Lot # |
The number identifying the lot number of the part issued by the manufacturer. Help facility available. |
Serial # |
The number identifying the serial number issued by the manufacturer (Alphanumeric, 40). Help facility available. |
Note: This field must not be left blank, if the part number is serial number controlled.
Quantity |
The quantity of the part to be converted for the serial number or lot number entered (Decimal). If the part to be converted is lot controlled, ensure that the quantity is greater than zero and the sum of all the quantities available in the multiline is equal to the quantity of the part in the selected line number. If the part is serial controlled then the quantity to be converted is necessarily one. |
The multiline displays the following:
Stock UOM |
The unit of measurement in which the part is stocked. |
From Condition |
The current condition of the party, which wish to convert. |
Enter the following:
To Condition |
Use the drop-down list box to select the condition to which you wish to convert the part. The drop-down list box displays the following: New, Overhauled and Serviceable. |
Remarks |
Any remarks pertaining to the converted part (Alphanumeric, 255). |
The multiline displays the following.
From Stock Status |
The current stock status of the part that you wish to convert. |
From Trading Partner Type |
The current ownership of the part that you wish to convert. |
From Trading Partner # |
The current owner of the part that you wish to convert. |
From Zone # |
The zone in the warehouse in which the part is currently stocked. |
From Bin # |
The bin in the zone of the warehouse in which the part is currently stocked. |
To Stock Status |
The stock status to which you wish to convert the part. |
To Trading Partner Type |
The ownership to which you wish to convert the part. |
To Trading Partner # |
The customer/supplier to which you wish to convert the part. |
To Zone # |
The zone in the warehouse to which you wish to transfer the part on stock conversion. |
To Bin # |
The bin in the zone of the warehouse to which you wish to transfer the part on stock conversion. |
Part Description |
The name of the part for which you wish to affect stock conversion. |
Check the box beside the “Convert Document Status To Fresh”, to change the status of the document from “Draft” to “Fresh”.
Click the “Edit Serial #/ Lot #/ Condition Details” pushbutton, to update the modified serial/lot/condition details for the part.
The system updates the status of the stock conversion document from “Draft” to “Fresh”, if the “Convert Document Status to Fresh” check box is checked and serial number or lot number details of all serial number or lot number controlled parts have been entered.
CAPEX Proposal # check
If "CAPEX Validation Required for Consignment Conversions" is ‘Yes in the "Set Parameters - Fixed Assets" activity of Company Parameter Setup, a stock status conversion of a Serial-Controlled ‘Capital’ part from Consignment stock status to an Internal stock status is possible only on the availability of sufficient CAPEX Proposal # budget balance.
The system displays the following in the “Record Statistics” group box:
Created By |
The login user ID of the person who has created the stock conversion document. |
Create Date |
The date on which the stock conversion document was created. |
Last Modified By |
The login user ID of the person who last modified the stock conversion document. |
Last Modified Date |
The date on which the stock conversion document was last modified. |

Select the “Generate Part Barcode Label” link at the bottom of the page to generate barcode label for parts that you have selected in the “Storage Information” multiline.
Entering serial and lot number details for stock conversion – An overview
This page allows you to provide serial #/lot # number and quantity of the part you wish to convert. You may also provide the new condition of serial #/lot #of the part that you wish to convert. It is mandatory that you record serial #/ lot# in this page to change the status of the document to ‘Fresh’ from ‘Draft’.

Select the line number of the part for which the serial and lot details must be entered, from the “Line #” drop-down list box.
Enter the lot number, serial number and the quantity of the parts that must be converted, in the “Storage Information” multiline.
