Selecting a warehouse for defining planning parameters

This page enables you to select a warehouse to define the parameters based on which the planning information for a part is maintained. You can directly enter the warehouse number, if you know the exact number. Otherwise, you can carry out a search using the warehouse number, type, category or description.

Select the “Maintain Warehouse Planning Parameter” link under the “Storage Administration” business component.

The “Select Warehouse” page appears.

Enter the following field in the “Direct Entry” group box, if you know the exact warehouse number:

Warehouse #

The number identifying the warehouse for which you wish to define the planning parameters (Alphanumeric, 10).

Select the “Warehouse Planning Parameter” link provided alongside, to define the planning parameters.

To search for a warehouse

Enter the following in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for a warehouse. Data entry in the following fields is optional:

Warehouse #	The number identifying the warehouse (Alphanumeric, 10). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the warehouses that are similar to the values entered here.
Warehouse Description	The textual description of the warehouse (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the warehouses with descriptions that are similar to the description entered here.
Warehouse Type	Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the warehouse, which could be “Normal” or “Free”. The system lists all the warehouses that are in the type specified here. Leave this field blank if you wish to retrieve details of warehouses irrespective of their type. The system leaves the field blank by default.
Warehouse Category	Use the drop-down list box to specify the category to which the warehouse belongs. The system displays all the categories defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity. The system retrieves all the warehouses belonging to the category specified here.

Click the “Search” pushbutton to display the search results.

Note: The system retrieves only those warehouses that are in “Active” status.

The system displays the following in the “Search Results” multiline:

Warehouse #	The number identifying the warehouse.
Description	The textual description of the warehouse.
Warehouse Type	The type of the warehouse, which could be “Normal” or “Free”.
Warehouse Category	The category to which the warehouse belongs.

Click the hyperlinked warehouse number in the multiline, to define the planning parameters.
