Requesting preferred serial # / lot # information
This page enables you to specify a specific serial # and/ or lot # in the part requirement before generating material request.
Select the “Request Preferred Serial # / Lot # Information” link under the “Record Shop Execution Details” business component, on selecting the “Material Request” tab page.
The “Request Preferred Serial # / Lot # Information” page appears.
The system displays the following field:
Date Format |
The format in which the date fields are to be entered in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
The system displays the following fields in the “Order Details” group box:
SWO # |
The type of the SWO is displayed in this field. The number identifying the shop work order is displayed alongside. |
Order Desc. |
The textual description of the shop work order. |
Status |
The status of the shop work order, which could be which could be “Planned”, “In-Progress” or “Completed”. |
Primary Work Center # |
The number identifying the work center in which the shop work order is being executed. |
Job Type |
The job type of the shop work order, which could be “Engine”, “Component”, “Piece Part”, “Make”, “Facility”, “Project”, or “Miscellaneous”. |
Event # |
The event number identified for grouping the shop work order. |
The system displays the following fields in the “Main Core Details” group box:
Note: The system displays “Mfr. Part # - Mfr. #” combination, if the parameter “Enable Manufacturer Part # control in transaction” under the Category ‘Manufacturer Part #’ is set as “Yes” in the “Set Inventory Process Parameters” activity of the “Logistics Common Master” business component. If the parameter is set as “No”, the system displays “Part #”.

The code identifying the Main Core Part of the context shop work order. |
Serial # |
The serial number of the Main Core Component of the context shop work order.. |
Mfr. Part # |
The code identifying the Manufacturer Part # of the Main Core Part of the context shop work order. |
Mfr # |
The code identifying the manufacturer of the Main Core Part. |

The lot number of the Main Core Part. |
Qty. |
The quantity of the Main Core Part. |
Mfg. Serial # |
The serial number issued by the manufacturer of the Main Core Part. |

The code identifying the facility object. More.. |
Facility # |
The code identifying the facility. A facility is a tool or equipment used to execute maintenance jobs on aircraft and aircraft-related components. |

Indicates whether multiple parts are associated to the same work order. |
Main Core Status |
The status of the main core component, which could be “Not Applicable”, “Pending Issue”, “Issued”, “Ext. Routed”, “Ext. Routed BER” or “Ext. Routed Exchange”. More.. |
Enter the following field in the “Part Details” group-box:
Line # |
The line number of the part requirement for which preferred serial # / lot # information is given. Note that the system displays the line number corresponding to the selected part requirement by default. A different line number can be selected. |
Note: The control type of the listed Part Requirement is either “Serial-Controlled”, “Lot-Controlled” or “Serial / Lot-Controlled’ and no material request is generated for those Part Requirements.
The system displays the following fields in the “Part Details” group box:

The part requested in the part requirement that is selected in ‘Line #’. |
Mfr. # |
The manufacturer number of the Mfr. Part #. |
Stock Status |
The stock status in which the part is requested. |
Part Desc. |
The textual description of the requested part. |
Warehouse # |
The code identifying the warehouse in which the request is placed. |
Enter the following fields in the “Preferred Serial/Lot Details” multiline:
Seq # |
The sequence number defining the priority in which the availability of requested specific serial #/ lot # is to be checked. Mandatory. Ensure that the sequence number entered in this field is not duplicated in the other rows of the multiline. |
Serial # |
The sequence number defining the priority in which the availability of requested specific serial #/ lot # is to be checked.. Mandatory. Ensure that the sequence number entered in this field is not duplicated in the other rows of the multiline. Help facility available |
Lot # |
The specific lot number of the requested part that is required for execution. Data entry in this field is mandatory if the requested Part # is either a “Lot-Controlled” or “Serial Lot-Controlled” part. Ensure the following:

Note: If the requested Part is a Serial Lot-Controlled Part, then the Serial # - Lot # combination for a “Requested Part #” must be valid and unique for a row.
Qty. |
The quantity of the requested part that is required. Data entry in this field is mandatory if the requested Part # is a “Lot-Controlled’ part. Ensure the following:

The code identifying the component of the requested part – preferred serial combination. |
Available in Warehouse? |
Indicates whether the quantity of the requested Part # - Serial # or Part # - Lot # or Part # - Serial # - Lot # combination is available in the requested Warehouse #. The system displays “Yes” or “No”. |
Condition |
The current condition requested Part # - Serial # or Part # - Lot # or Part # - Serial # - Lot # combination which could be “New”, “Overhauled”, “Serviceable”, “Unserviceable”. |
% Rem. Life |
The percentage of the remaining life of the requested part # - preferred serial # combination. |
Expiry Date |
The date of expiry of the requested part # - preferred serial # combination. |
Note: Ensure that atleast one record is entered in the multiline.
Click the “Edit Preferred Information” pushbutton to save the preferred Serial # / Lot # information.
The system performs the following:
Updates the “Qty.” field to “1” if the quantity is not entered for the “Requested Part #” which is “Serial - Controlled” or “Serial / Lot - Controlled’
Retrieves the Component # corresponding to the entered Serial # - Controlled or Serial # / Lot # Controlled” requested part number from the “Aircraft” business component.
Displays the condition of the Part # - Serial # or Part # - Lot # or Part # - Serial # - Lot # combination in the “Condition” field in the multiline
Displays the following in the “Available in Warehouse?” field in the “Preferred Serial / Lot Details” multiline:
Yes - If the requested Qty. of the requested Part # - Serial # or Part # - Lot # or Part # - Serial # - Lot # combination is available in the requested Warehouse #.
No - if either requested Part # - Serial # or Part # - Serial # - Lot # is not available in the requested Warehouse # or if not all the requested Qty. is of Part # - Lot # combination is not available in the requested Warehouse #.
Retrieves the “Expiry Date” for the given Component # and Lot # available in the “Stock Maintenance” business component.
Updates the Seq # in the multiline as follows: Example
1. If Seq # is available:
Updates the sequence number starting with “1” for the row having the least sequence number and thereafter incrementing by 1 for each additional row in ascending order in the multiline.
2. If Seq # is not available:
Updates the sequence number starting with “1” for the first row and incrementing by 1 for the additional rows in the multiline.

Select the “View Part Certificate History” link at the bottom of the page to inquire part certificate history.

A saved part requirement must be selected in the “Material Request” tab of the “Record Shop Execution Details” activity in the current business component.
The selected part requirement must be either “Serial-Controlled” , “Lot-Controlled” or “Serial/Lot - Controlled”. More…
The part requirement selected must not have a Material Request generated in the “Material Requested” tab of the “Record Shop Execution Details” activity in the current business component.
