Part #

The number identifying the existing part from which the details can be copied (Alphanumeric, 40). Ensure that the part is already defined in the system.

 

Help facility available.

Location #

Use the drop-down list box to select the organization unit from which the details must be copied. The system lists all the organizational units mapped to the “Part Administration” business component and displays the login organization unit by default.

Check this box to copy all the details of the part.

Maintenance Information

Check this box to copy the maintenance information.

Planning Information

Check this box to copy the planning information.

Purchase Information

Check this box to copy the purchase information.

Sales Information

Check this box to copy the sales information.

Alternate Parts

Check this box to copy the alternate part details.

Other Part Nos

Check this box to copy the other part number details.

Part Grouping

Check this box to copy the part grouping details.

Attributes

Check this box to copy the attribute details.

UOM Conversion

Check this box to copy the UOM conversion details.

Kit Information

Check this box to copy the kit information.

Manufacturing Information

Check this box to copy the part manufacturing information.

The system displays the part description and all the details defined for the part number entered in the “Part #” field, based on the box checked.

Previous Part #

The number given to the part previously (Alphanumeric, 40)

The system displays the following field:

Base Part #

The number identifying the base part

 

The base part number is identified as an attribute of the Part number to track the changes of a given Part number due to engineering modifications. The use of base part number enables us to keep track of changes made to the part number without altering the initial part number. For det, refer the summary of the activity.

Mod Status #

The status number assigned to a part, whenever its properties are enhanced (Alphanumeric, 15). The latest status number of the part is considered during the purchase activity.

Prime Part #

The number identifying the prime part (Alphanumeric, 40)

 

The prime part number is an attribute of the part number that enables to retrieve a set of alternate parts for a defined part number.

Note: The prime part of the copied part is inherited by the new part only if the "Copy Prime Part # during Copy Part" process parameter is set as “Yes” or left blank in the Set Inventory Process Parameters activity of the Logistics Common Master component,

Note: If the part number entered in this field is not same as the part number entered in the “Part Identification Details” group box, then ensure that the prime part entered is in “Active” reference and planning status as identified in the “Part Administration” business component.

Note: If the “Prime Part #” field is left blank, the part number in the “Part #” field of “Part Identification Details” group box is updated as prime part number.

Drawing Reference/Revision #

The number identifying the document containing the drawing reference (Alphanumeric, 40).

The revision number of the drawing document.

Material Specification

The specification of the material composition of the part (Alphanumeric, 255).

Source Document Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the reference document based on which the part number is being created.

 
  • IPC – indicates that the reference document is an Illustrated Parts catalogue.

 
  •  Eng. Doc – indicates that the reference document is an Engineering Document.

 
  •  Others – indicates that the reference document could be any document other than “IPC” and “Eng. Doc"

 

The system displays “IPC” by default. This field is mandatory if the Source Document # is entered.

Document Revision #

The revision number of the source document (Alphanumeric, 40).

Source Document #

The number identifying the reference document (Alphanumeric, 40).

The system ensures that a value exists in this field, if the option "Source document information for a Part" is set as "Mandatory" in the “Logistics Common Master” business component.

Source Document Date

The date on which the reference document was created.

This field is mandatory if the Source Document # is entered.

The system ensures that the entered date is lesser than or equal to current date.

Ref. Doc. Type

Use the drop-down list to select the type of the reference document. The system lists all the document type that is defined in the “Create Reference Document Type” activity of the “Common Master” component.

This field is mandatory if a value exists in the Reference Document # field.

By default, the system leaves the field blank.

Ref. Doc. #

The number identifying the reference document (Alphanumeric, 40).

This field is mandatory if a value exists in the Reference Document Type field.

Ref. Notes

Any other reference notes pertaining to the reference document for the part.  (Alphanumeric, 2000).

Gross Volume

The gross volume of the part (Decimal). The gross volume must be greater than zero.

Note: This field must not be left blank, if the “Volume UOM” field is entered.

Volume UOM

The unit of measurement in which the volume of the part is measured (Alphanumeric, 10). The UOM must be defined in the “Create UOM” activity of the “Unit of Measurement Administration” business component and must be in “Active” status.

Note: This field must not be left blank, if the “Gross Volume” field is entered.

Note: If the volume UOM is entered and different from Stock UOM, then ensure that conversion between “Volume UOM” and “Stock UOM” is defined for the part in the “Maintain UOM Conversion” page of the current business component or in the “Unit Of Measurement Administration” business component.

Gross Weight

The gross weight of the part (Decimal). The gross weight must be greater than zero.

Note: This field must not be left blank, if the “Weight UOM” field is entered.

Weight UOM

The unit of measurement in which the part is weighed (Alphanumeric, 10). The UOM must be defined in the “Create UOM” activity of the “Unit of Measurement Administration” business component and must be in “Active” status.

Note: This field must not be left blank, if the “Gross Weight” field is entered.

Note: If the weight UOM is entered, and different from stock UOM then ensure that conversion between “Weight UOM” and “Stock UOM” for the part is defined in the “Maintain UOM Conversion” page of the current business component or in the “Unit Of Measurement Administration” business component.

Length

The length of the part. The length must be greater than zero.

Note: This field must not be left blank, if the “Length UOM” field is entered

Length UOM

The unit of measurement in which the length of the part is measured. The UOM must be defined in the “Create UOM” activity of the “Unit of Measurement Administration” business component and must be in “Active” status.

Width

The width of the part. The width must be greater than zero.

Note: This field must not be left blank, if the “Width UOM” field is entered.

Width UOM

The unit of measurement in which the width of the part is measured. The UOM must be defined in the “Create UOM” activity of the “Unit of Measurement Administration” business component and must be in “Active” status.

Height

The height of the part. The height must be greater than zero.

Note: This field must not be left blank, if the “Height UOM” field is entered.

Height UOM

The unit of measurement in which the height of the part is measured. The UOM must be defined in the “Create UOM” activity of the “Unit of Measurement Administration” business component and must be in “Active” status.

During part creation, if a Material Request document is available for the part, the system ensures the following:

  1. The Stock UOM of the part is same as the Required UOM in the Material Request document, if the Part Control Type is “Serial Controlled” or “Serial and Lot Controlled”.

  2. The part independent UOM conversion exists between the Stock UOM and Required UOM in the Material Request document, if the Part Control Type is “Lot Controlled” or “None Controlled”.
