This page allows you to search for a part number based on the planning information defined for it.
You can carry out the search using the part number, the description of part, the part number issued by the manufacturer, the key word identifying the part, the type of the part, the category of the part, the classification of the part, the base part number and the ATA chapter number, aircraft model number associated to the part. You can also specify the advanced search id based on which you wish to retrieve the part information.
The system retrieves all the part numbers, which are in the “Active” status, based on the search criteria entered. On confirmation, the selected part number is transferred to the required page.
Click the lens icon positioned next to the “Part #” field.
The “Help On Part” page appears.
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for a part number. Data entry in the fields is optional:
Part # |
The number identifying the part you wish to retrieve (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the part numbers that are similar to the value entered here. |
Part Description |
The description of the part you wish to retrieve (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the part numbers that have part description similar to the value entered here. |
Manufacturer Part # |
The code identifying the manufacturer part number (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the part numbers that have manufacturer part numbers similar to the value entered here. |
Key Word |
The key word of the part you wish to retrieve (Alphanumeric, 25). You can enter the key word in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the part numbers that have key words similar to the value entered here. |
Part Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the part you wish to retrieve. The part could be of type “Raw Material”, “Component”, “Expendable”, “Tool”, “Consumable”, “Kit” or "Miscellaneous". |
Part Category |
Use the drop-down list box to select the category of the part you wish to retrieve. The system lists all the ‘active’ quick codes defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity. |
Base Part # |
The code identifying the base number of the part you wish to retrieve (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the part numbers that have base part numbers similar to the value entered here. |
ATA # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the ATA chapter number associated to the part you wish to retrieve. The system lists all the ATA chapters that have been created in the “Create ATA chapter” activity of the “Aircraft” business component, that are in “Active” status. |
Issue Basis |
Use the drop-down list box to select the basis on which the part is issued. The system lists the following options:

Part Control Type |
Use the drop-down list box to specify whether the part is "Lot Controlled" or "Serial Controlled". |
Planning Type |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the planning type of the part. The system lists the options “Reorder Level” and “Min - Max”. |
Part Classification |
Use the drop-down list box to select the classification to which the part belongs. The system lists the options “Rotable”, “Controllable”, “Repairable” and “None”, and leaves the field blank by default. |
Aircraft Model # |
The number identifying the aircraft model to which the part is associated (Alphanumeric, 20). The system displays all the parts that are associated with the aircraft model number specified here, and also other part numbers that are not associated to any aircraft model. |
Adv. Search ID |
Use the drop-down list box to select the advanced search id based on which you wish to search for parts. The system lists the entire advanced search ids created in the “Set Advanced Search Criteria” page. |
Strip Part # |
The stripped number of the part without any special characters (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the parts having strip part number that is similar to the value entered here. |
Select the “Edit” link provided alongside, to edit the advanced search criteria to retrieve the planning information for the part.
Note: Leave all the fields blank, to retrieve all the part numbers available in the database.
Click the “Search Parts” pushbutton to retrieve the search results.
The system displays the following in the “Search Results” multiline, based on the search criteria entered.

The classification of the part, which could be “Rotable”, “Controllable”, “Repairable” or “None”. |
Stock UOM |
The unit of measurement in which the part is stocked in the warehouse. |
Issue Basis |
The basis on which the part is issued. |
Part Control Type |
The part control type. |
Planning Type |
The planning type of the part. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select a part number.
Click the “OK” pushbutton.
To set advanced search criteria:
Select the “Set Advanced Search Criteria” link at the bottom of the page to set the advanced search criteria to retrieve the planning information on parts.
