Maintaining numbering privileges
This activity allows you to provide the privilege to define a numbering class, for a user belonging to a specific organizational unit. Tell me more
Select the “Maintain Numbering Privileges” link under the “Document Numbering Class” business component.
The “Numbering Privileges” page appears.
Enter the following in the “User Details” group box:
Org. Unit Name |
Use the drop-down list box to select the organizational unit, to which the user for whom the numbering privileges must be defined, belongs. The system lists all the organizational units defined in the organizational model and by default, sets the field to the organizational unit to which you have logged into. |
User Name |
The name of the user for whom the numbering privileges must be provided or denied (Alphanumeric, 30). Mandatory. The user must have the login rights to the organizational unit selected in the “Org. Unit Name” field. |

Note: The user name must be mapped to the organization unit selected.
Click the “Get User Privileges” pushbutton to retrieve the business functions that have been mapped for the selected organizational unit.
The system displays the following in the “Search Results” multiline:
Function Name |
The name of the business function. For example, Sales, Maintenance or Purchase could be the function name. The system lists all the functions mapped to the selected organizational unit in the multiline. |

Business Component Name |
The various business components defined under the business function. For example, “Invoicing” could be a business component under the function “Sales”. |

Transaction |
The type of the transaction. For example, ”Customer direct invoice” or “Customer order based invoice” could be the transaction types under the business component “Invoicing”. |
Enter the following:
Numbering Privileges Allowed |
Use the drop-down list box and set the field to “Yes” to grant the rights to the selected user. When this field is set to “Yes”, the selected user is allowed to create or modify a numbering class. Select “No” to deny the numbering privileges to the selected user. The system displays “No” by default. |
Note: At least one row must be entered in the multiline. Numbering privileges must be necessarily set before defining a numbering class.
Click the “Maintain Mapping Information” pushbutton.
The system performs the following:
updates the numbering privileges for the selected user and organizational unit.
stores the name of the login user and the current server date
stores the name of the login user who modified the settings last and the date on which the settings were last modified.
