Create Numbering Class – A summary of the activity

This activity enables you to set up the numbering patterns, which helps in generating unique document numbers for the various transaction types. For example, invoicing could be the transaction and the customer direct invoice or the customer order based invoice is the transaction type. Numbering types defined here helps in providing a unique identity to a document across the application. You can define different numbering types for a transaction type. You can also define continuos numbering patterns for multiple transaction types.

The “Numbering Type Information” page allows you to define a numbering type. You can define various combinations of prefix, suffix, starting and ending numbers for a numbering type. The prefix and suffix must be unique within a numbering type.

The “Numbering Type Mapping” page allows you to map the defined numbering type to organizational units.
