MRO Warranty – An overview
Repair services offered by an MRO are generally accompanied with some warranty. In general, the organization can either provide a warranty for the service they offered or can act as an authorized repair vendor for OEM and do FOC or discounted repairs against the Warranty offered by OEM. Warranty is also provided for the parts sold (a common business of any maintenance organization) by them. All these warranty provided has a strong paperwork with various clauses and terms in the name of the Warranty Agreements. This component, “MRO Warranty” provides the following provisions.
Ability to define the Warranty Agreements which shall be honoured by the organization (in the Manage MRO Warranty Agreement activity)
Ability to track the various Part-Serial/Lot #s that are offered under warranty (in the Manage Parts under MRO Warranty activity)
Definition of MRO Warranty Agreement
MRO Warranty Agreement is a document with details of the Parts covered under the warranty and warranty terms. The MRO Warranty Agreement comprises the following features:
Ability to map the Aircrafts covered under the MRO warranty agreement.
Ability to map the customers for whom the MRO warranty agreement is applicable.
Ability to define general inclusion and/or exclusion terms against an MRO warranty agreement.
Ability to define back billing information against an MRO warranty agreement.
