Entering sub fleet utilization details
This page allows you to enter the sub fleet utilization details. Tell me more.
Select the “Edit Sub Fleet Utilization” link in the “Create Sub Fleet” or “Edit Sub Fleet” page.
The “Edit Sub Fleet Utilization” page appears.
Note: The system launches this page only if the sub fleet “Utilization Profile” is set as “Seasonal Variation” and “Reference” is set as “Yes”.
On launching this page, the system displays the utilization details that are already computed, and the seasonal utilization details, if available. On launch of the page for the first time a session is created with month from “Jan” and month to “Dec” and Utilization Reference as “Direct”, the utilization value is calculated for this session.
The system displays the following in the “Sub Fleet Details” group box:
Sub Fleet # |
The number identifying the sub fleet for which the utilization parameters must be entered. |
Sub Fleet Desc |
The textual description of the sub fleet. Zoom facility available. |
Enter the following in the “Utilization Computation Details” group box:
Utilization Reference |
Use the drop-down list box to select the utilization reference for the sub fleet. The system displays the options 'Direct' and 'Historical'. By default, the system sets the field to “Direct”. § Direct – Select this option to enter the utilization values directly. § Historical – Select this option to retrieve the utilization value from the “Aircraft“ business component. |
Computation Method |
Use the drop-down list box to select the computation method for the utilization parameter. The system displays the options “Simple Average Method”, “Weighted Average Method”, “Simple Moving Average Method” and “Weighted Moving Average Method”. By default, the system sets the field to 'Simple Average Method'. The system provides these options, only when the “Utilization Reference” field is set as “Historical”. The computation method should be unique for the selected sub fleet and parameter. After computation, you cannot select different computation method for the same sub fleet and parameter. |
Moving Avg. Count |
The average moving count for the sub fleet (Integer). The number should be positive. Entry in this field is mandatory, if the computation is selected as “Simple Moving Average Method” or “Weighted Moving Average Method'”. Leave this field blank, if the computation method is selected as ”Simple Average Method” or “Weighted Average Method”. If values are entered for these methods, the system resets the value to zero. |
Ref. Year From |
The year starting from which the utilization value of aircraft is considered for computing. Entry in this field is mandatory, if the computation method is selected as “Simple Average Method” or “Weighted Average Method”. The year should be less than or equal to the current system year. Leave this field blank, if the computation is selected as “Simple Moving Average Method” or “Weighted Moving Average Method'”. If values are entered for these methods, the system resets the value to zero. |
Ref. Year To |
The year till which the utilization value of aircraft is considered for computing. Entry in this field is mandatory, if the computation method is selected as “Simple Average Method” or “Weighted Average Method”. The year should be greater than current system year. Leave this field blank, if the computation is selected as “Simple Moving Average Method” or “Weighted Moving Average Method'”. If values are entered for these methods, the system resets the value to zero. |
Parameter |
Use the drop-down list box to select the parameter for the sub fleet. The system displays the parameter values of the common set of “Consumption Parameters” defined for aircraft(s) belonging to the sub fleet, for which “Reference” is set as ”Yes”. By default, the system leaves the field blank. The system displays the parameters only if a “Usage based Schedule” is defined in the active “Maintenance Program” to which the aircraft is associated. |
Note: If "Parameter" field is left blank, the system computes the utilization value for all the parameters and sessions displayed.
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton to retrieve the utilization values.
The system displays the following:
UOM |
The unit of measurement of the utilization parameter. |
The system displays the following in the “Seasonal Utilization Figure Details” group box:
Session # |
A number sequentially generated by the system for each session defined, on clicking the “Edit Sub Fleet Utilization” pushbutton. |
Enter the following:
Month From |
Use the drop-down list box to select the starting month of the session. The system displays all the twelve months of the year. By default, the system displays “January”. The first month of the first session should be set as “January”. If you create only one session, the span of the session should be one year. If you create more than one session, the sessions must be defined across all the months in a year. |
Month To |
Use the drop-down list box to select the ending month of the session. The system displays all the twelve months of the year. By default, the system displays “December”. Ensure that the last month of the last session is set as “December”. |
Session Description |
The textual description of the session (Alphanumeric, 255). |
Utilization Value |
The utilization value of the sub fleet for the session (Integer). Ensure that the number is positive. Entry in this field is mandatory, if the “Utilization Reference” is set as “Direct”. |
The system displays the following, on clicking the “Compute Utilization” pushbutton:
Computed Utilization |
The computed utilization value of the sub fleet. |
Enter the following:
Remarks |
Any additional comments regarding sub fleet utilization (Alphanumeric, 255). Zoom facility available. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark a session for deletion.
Click the Delete icon in the toolbar above the multiline, to delete the session in the multiline.
To update the sub fleet utilization details
Click the “Edit Sub Fleet Utilization” pushbutton to update the modified details.
The system generates the session numbers sequentially and stores the utilization values against the respective sessions.

Entering sub fleet utilization details – An overview
You can modify the sub fleet utilization details in this page. You can enter the utilization value for the sub fleet directly, or compute the utilization value based on the past usage information. You can select a method for computing the utilization value. You can also specify the parameter for which the utilization value must be retrieved from the "Aircraft “ business component. You can select the starting month and the ending month of the session.
If the utilization of a sub fleet fairly varies from one period of time to the other, then ‘Seasonal Utilization’ can be defined for the sub fleet. While forecasting the utilization value against the respective seasons will be used for computation purpose. You can select the starting month and the ending month for each session.
