Maintain Asset Template – A summary of the activity

In this activity, you can create an asset template where the asset details for a “capital” part can be recorded. This information will be used for automatic generation of asset records for new assets (stock of parts that are serial number-controlled, with “Expense Type” as “Capital”) received in inventory. The asset template will be stored for each planning location of the part record.

You can specify the following default asset details for a part in the asset template:

• The rule by which the asset number will be generated

• The numbering type to be given to the asset number

• The textual description of the asset

• The tag description of the asset

• Asset class code

• Asset location code

• Asset group code

• Cost Center

• Salvage value of the asset

• Depreciation category to which the asset belongs

• Finance book details for parts of type “Components”.
