Maintaining asset identifier for maintenance objects
This page allows you to maintain asset identifier details for maintenance objects.
Select the “Maintain Asset Identifier for Maintenance Objects” link under the “Maintenance Asset Tracker” business component.
The “Maintain Asset Identifier for Maintenance Objects” page appears.
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for a maintenance object. Data entry in the following fields is optional:

Use the drop-down list box to select the option by which the search results will be displayed. The system lists the following options:

Associated ? |
Use the drop-down list box to indicate whether the maintenance object is associated to the asset identifier or not. If the “Modification of Asset No. for Maintenance Assets” option is set to “Yes” in the “Set Options” activity, the system lists the options “Yes” and “No”. Else, the system displays “No” in this field. |
Aircraft Reg # |
The registration number of the aircraft for which the asset identifier details must be entered (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the registration number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all aircraft with registration numbers that are similar to the number entered here. |
Aircraft Model # |
The model to which the aircraft belongs (Alphanumeric, 20). You can enter the model number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all aircraft with model numbers that are similar to the number entered here. |
Component Family # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the component family to which the component belongs. The system lists all component families defined in the “Create Component Family” activity of the “Aircraft” business component. |
Part Category |
Use the drop-down list box to select the category to which the part belongs. The system lists all part categories defined in the “Part Administration” business component. |
Part # |
The part number to which the component belongs (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the part number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all parts that are similar to the number entered here. |
Serial # |
The serial number of the part (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the serial number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. |
Part Description |
The textual description of the part (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all parts with part descriptions that are similar to the description entered here. |
Component # |
The number identifying the component for which the asset identifier details must be entered (Alphanumeric, 90). You can enter the component number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. |
Planning Base |
Select the organizational unit in which the maintenance activities on the aircraft are planned. The system lists all the organizational units where aircraft can be created. |
Parent Component # |
The parent component number (Alphanumeric, 90). |
Parent Part # |
The parent part number (Alphanumeric, 40). |
Click the “Search” pushbutton to display the search results.
The system displays the search results according to the filter criteria specified. The various circumstances, under which the search results are displayed, are explained in Table 1.

Enter the following fields to associate an asset identifier to the maintenance object:
Asset No. |
The asset number that you wish to associate to the maintenance object (Alphanumeric, 18). Ensure that the asset number is already defined in the “Asset Capitalization” business component, if the “Maintenance Asset Tracker” business component interacts with the “Asset Capitalization” business component. Help facility available. |
Asset Tag |
The asset tag number that you wish to associate to the maintenance object (Integer). Ensure that the asset tag is already defined for the asset number in the “Asset Capitalization” business component and is in “Active” status, if the “Maintenance Asset Tracker” business component interacts with the “Asset Capitalization” business component. Help facility available. |
Note: Data entry in these fields is mandatory, if you leave the “Default Option” group box blank.
If the “Sharing of Asset No.” option is set as “Not Allowed” in the “Set Options” activity, ensure that the same asset number and asset tag combination is not repeated in the multiline.
If the option “Asset FB Check with Holding Unit’s Book” is set as “Allowed” in the “Set Options” activity, ensure that the finance book of asset number and asset tag combination and the finance book of the planning base of the aircraft are same.
The system displays the following fields:

The login ID of the user who last modified the asset identifier details. |

Enter the following fields in the “Default Option” group box:
Asset No. |
The default asset number that you wish to specify for all the rows in the multiline (Alphanumeric, 18). Help facility available. |
Asset Tag |
The default asset tag that you wish to specify for all the rows in the multiline (Integer). Help facility available. |
Click the “Update Asset ID” pushbutton to update the asset identifier details for the maintenance objects.
Associate an asset identifier to a maintenance object
Associate an asset identifier to a maintenance object
You can associate an asset identifier (asset number and asset tag combination) to a maintenance object such as aircraft or component.
Provide “Search Criteria” to search for the maintenance object.
Click the “Search” pushbutton.
Enter the “Asset No.” and “Asset Tag” fields in the “Search Results” multiline.
Click the “Update Asset ID” pushbutton.
