Map Carrier-Ship To Entity - A summary of the activity

Majority of international shipments are routed through a freight forwarder to reduce shipping cost and avoid customs management for these shipped items. These freight forwarders are selected by the customer and communicated to MRO in their Purchase Order / Repair Order forms sent along with the unserviceable unit. For example, if a customer has to ship a repaired item to an operator in Mexico, it would be shipped to a freight forwarder in Miami, FL and then the freight forwarder will consolidate all shipments to Mexico and ships it to the final destination. There are also cases where a unit will transit through multiple countries before reaching its final destination. Hence in this activity carrier / Agency # is mapped to the Customer /Supplier /warehouse.
