Track and Resolve SOS Disposition
This activity is mainly used by MOC (Maintenance Operational Clerk)/DOC. This activity is used to track and resolve the SOS (Ship or Shelf) disposition details. In this activity the Parts with SOS Disposition set as “Suspected Failure” will be fetched and the SOS due date and time will be calculated.
Select the “Track and Resolve SOS Disposition” link under the “Line Planning and Control” business component.
The “Track and Resolve SOS Disposition” page appears.
The system displays the following field:
Date & Time Format |
The format in which the date and time fields appear in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user id. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date and time format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
Enter the following details in the “Search Criteria” group box:
Removed From |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the location from where the object is removed. The combo is loaded with values “Aircraft Reg #”, “Part #”, “Part #/Serial #”, “Component #” and "Nose". The system defaults with “Blank” on page launch. Note: When a value is selected in this combo, then it is mandatory to enter a value in the adjacent text box. |
Removed Object |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the object removed. The combo is loaded with values “Part #/ Serial #”, “Component #” and Blank. The system defaults with “Blank” on page launch. Note: When a value is selected in this combo, then it is mandatory to enter a value in the adjacent text box. |
Removed From Date >= |
The date on which the component was removed.(Date format) |
SOS Due Date & Time <= |
The SOS due date and time.(Date format) |
Removed Station |
The station where the part was removed.(Alphanumeric,32) |
Display Option |
Use the drop-down to specify the display option. The combo is loaded with values “Pending Initiation”, “Pending Confirmation” and “Overdue”. The system defaults with “Pending Initiation” on page launch. |
Note: If the Display Option is selected as 'Pending Initiation', then the system will fetch all CR# 's from the interacting Component Replacement business component whose SOS Disposition is saved as 'Suspected Failure' and which does not have 'SOS Due Date & Time' .
If the Display Option is selected as 'Pending Confirmation', then the system will fetch all CR# 's from the interacting Component Replacement business component; whose SOS Disposition is saved as 'Suspected Failure' and which has a value in 'SOS Due Date & Time'.
If the Display Option is selected as 'Overdue', then the system will fetch all CR# 's from the interacting Component Replacement business component;
a) whose SOS Disposition is saved as 'Suspected Failure' and
b) which has a value available in 'SOS Due Date & Time' and
c) 'SOS Due Date & Time' is less than Current Server Date & Time.
Click the “Search” pushbutton to retrieve the details in the multiline.
The system retrieves the SOS Applicability details based on the values entered/selected in one or more than one filter criteria. Wild card search is also allowed. The system fetches the details of all the component replacement #'s which are having 'SOS Disposition' applicable when values are not entered in any of the filter conditions.
The system displays the following in the “SOS Disposition Details” multiline:

The part number of the aircraft. |

The serial number of the part. |

Use the drop-down list box to specify the SOS Disposition. The combo is loaded with values “Suspected Failure”, “Confirmed Failure”, “No Fault Found” and Blank. The system defaults with “Blank” on page launch. Mandatory when a value exists in any of the columns. |
Initiated Date |
The date on which the SOS should be initiated. Mandatory when “Suspected Failure” is selected in “SOS Disposition” combo. (Date format).This date will be defaulted with the “Removed Date”. |
Initiated Time |
The time at which the SOS should be initiated Mandatory when “Suspected Failure” is selected in “SOS Disposition” combo.(Time format) |
Reference Time Zone |
The reference time zone of the SOS disposition. |
Duration |
The duration of SOS initiation. Mandatory when “Suspected Failure” is selected in “SOS Disposition” combo. |
Time Unit |
Use the drop-down list box to select the time unit. The combo is loaded with values “Hours”, “Days” and Blank. The system defaults with “Blank” on page launch. Mandatory when “Suspected Failure” is selected in “SOS Disposition” combo. |
Note: SOS Due Date & Time is calculated from the Initiated Date, Initiated Time and Duration .If the Time Unit is selected as “Days”, then the same is converted into hours to compute the SOS Due Date & Time.

Note: If “Confirmed Failure” is selected in the “SOS Disposition” combo and the Initiated date, Initiated Time, Duration and Time Unit are modified, the system computes and displays “SOS Due Date & Time”.
If “No Fault Found” is selected in the “SOS Disposition” combo and the Initiated date, Initiated Time, Duration and Time Unit are modified, then the system will not compute the “SOS Due Date & Time”.

Click the “Update SOS Disposition” button to update the SOS disposition details.
Select the “Inspect/Re-Certify Parts” at the bottom of the page to record inspection of parts identified as SOS.
