Managing quarantined parts
This page allows you to manage all the parts quarantined during reception or inspection.
Select the “Manage Quarantined Parts” link under the “Goods Inward” business component.
The “Manage Quarantined Parts” page appears.
Enter the following in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for a receipt. Data entry in the following fields is optional:
Received At
Receiving Location/ Warehouse # |
Use the drop-down list to select the receiving location for receiving the goods. The system lists the unique storage locations mapped to the warehouses listed in the “Receiving Warehouse #” field as defined in the “Storage Administration” business component. Use the drop-down list box to select a code identifying the warehouse where the goods are to be received. The system lists all the Warehouse # mapped to the transaction types "Regular Purchase" or "Customer Goods Receipt" The system leaves the field blank by default. |
Received Date: From/ To |
The starting date on which the receipt document was received (Date Format). The ending date on which the receipt document was received (Date Format). The system leaves the field blank by default. |
Receipt/ Quarantine Info.
Enter the following fields;
Resolution Resp. |
Use the drop-down list to select the resolution responsibility which is user defined quick codes in the “Logistics Common Master” business component. The system lists all the values defined for the Quick Code Type "Resolution Responsibility" in the “Logistics Common Master” business component. The system leaves the field blank by default. Resolution Resp. is the category of people who are supposed to act on the quarantined parts as selected during quarantining the part. For example, if the value “Buyer” was defined and when a Buyer logs into this page, he can filter all the records pending for his action. |
Quarantine Info.

Use the drop-down list box to select the quarantine information. The system lists the options “Reason for Quarantine”, “Quarantine Status”, ”Quarantine By” and “Quarantine Stage”. The system displays “Quarantine Status” by default. The system enables or disables the second and third fields based on the value selected in the first drop-down list box. |
Receipt Info. |
Use the drop-down list box to select the receipt information. The system lists the options “Pack Slip #”, “Receipt #”, “Receipt Priority”, “Receipt Type”, “Receipt Category”, “Received By”, “User Status” and “Way Bill #”. The system displays “Receipt #” by default. The system enables or disables the second and third fields based on the value selected in the first drop-down list box. |
Part Info. |
Use the drop-down list box to select the part information. The system lists the options ”Mfr. Part #”, “Mfr. Serial #”, “Mfr. Lot #”, “Material Type”, “Part #”, “Part Type”, “Part Category”, “Part Classification”, “Part Description” and “Part Group”. The system displays “Part #” by default. The system enables or disables the second and third fields based on the value selected in the first drop-down list box. |
Others |
Use the drop-down list box to select other information. The system lists the options “Buyer Group”, “Customer PO #”, “Customer #”, “Customer Name”, “Ref. Doc. # “, “Ref. Doc. Type” , “Supplier Name”, “Supplier #” and “Ref. Doc. Created By” The system displays “Ref. Doc. #” by default. The system enables or disables the second and third fields based on the value selected in the first drop-down list box. |
Display Option
Enter the following fields;

Use the drop-down list to select the display options available which could be “Quarantined Parts” or “Resolved Parts”.
The system displays “Quarantined Parts” by default. |
Show History |
Check the box to show the quarantined or resolved parts history. If "Show History" checkbox is checked and Display Option is set as "Quarantined Parts", the system retrieves the records of all the quarantined parts recorded in various receipt documents from the Quarantine History table. If "Show History" checkbox is checked and Display Option is set as "Resolved Parts", the system retrieves only those parts that were resolved i.e., currently it should not be quarantined, with information on "Resolution Comments", "Quar. Status", "Quar. Comments" , "Reason for Quarantine" already recorded in the History table |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton to retrieve the receipt details.
The system displays the following fields in the “Search Results” multiline:
Part # |
The number identifying the part. Click the hyperlinked part number to view the parts information. |
Mfr. Part # |
The part number provided by the manufacturer of the part |
Quar. Qty |
The quantity that is quarantined. |
UOM |
The unit of measurement mentioned in the reference document used to procure the part |
Reason for Quarantine |
The reason for quarantine as defined when the part was quarantined. These are quick codes defined in the “Logistics Common Master” business component. |
Quar. Comments |
Any remarks pertaining to quarantine recorded by the receiving clerk or inspector. |
Quar. by |
The code identifying the login user who quarantined the part. |
Supp. #/ Cust. # |
The code identifying the supplier or customer If the Ref. Document contains both supplier and customer as in the case of a Purchase Order of type Customer Goods, the system displays the Supplier #. |
Supplier/ Customer Name |
The name of the supplier or customer. If the Ref. Document contains both supplier and customer as in the case of a Purchase Order of type Customer Goods, the system displays the Supplier name. |
Receipt # |
The code identifying the receipt document created by the warehouse clerk to record information of the goods received. |
Quar. Stage |
The quarantine stage which could be "Receiving" or "Inspection" depending on the stage where the parts got quarantined. |
Ref. Doc. # |
The number identifying the reference document of the receipt #. The system leaves the field blank, if there were no Ref. Document used to create the receipt usually during Direct Customer Goods Receipt. |
Ref. Doc. Type |
The type of the reference document. The system displays “Others” if there were no Ref. Document used to create the receipt usually during Direct Customer Goods Receipt. |
Mfr. Serial # |
The serial number issued by the manufacturer of the part |
Mfr. Lot # |
The lot number issued by the manufacturer of the part |
Part Description |
The textual description of the part |
Receiving Location |
The receiving location of the part as defined in the Receipt # |
Receiving Warehouse # |
The code identifying the warehouse where the part was received. |
Last Modified By |
The login ID of the user who lately modified the quarantine details.. |
Last Modified Date |
The date and time on which the quarantine details were last modified. |
STS |
Indicates “Status”. It indicates whether it is Current “CUR” or History “HIS”. A record is considered to be “HIS” if somebody has modified one of the following
The latest records will the considered as the CUR record. Records with status HIS will be retrieved only if Show History checkbox is checked during search. |
Enter the following fields;
Resolution Comments |
Any comments given by the person or department acted on the quarantined part. Mandatory. |
Quar. Status |
The quarantine status of the part. The system lists all the "Quarantine Status" defined in the “Logistics Common Master” business component. The system defaults the Quar. Status selected by the receiving clerk or inspector or the Quar. Status selected by the person or department who acted on the quarantine. |
Resolution Responsibility |
This field shows the person or department who has to act on the quarantine. The system lists all the values defined for the Quick Code Type "Resolution Responsibility" in the “Logistics Common Master” business component.
The system defaults the Resolution Responsibility selected by the receiving clerk or inspector or as selected by the person or department who acted on the quarantine. |
Note: Ensure that at least one row is entered in the multiline.
Click the “Save” pushbutton to save the quarantine details.
To proceed, carry out the following
View Records
Select the “View Purchase Order” link at the bottom of the page to view the purchase order.
Select the “View Release Slip” link at the bottom of the page to view the release slip.
