Selecting fault codes for modification
This page allows you to select a fault code you need to modify. Tell me more.
Select the “Edit Fault Codes” link under the “Fault Isolation Manual” business component.
The “Select Fault Code” page appears.
To search for the fault code
Enter the following in the “Search Criteria” group box, to search for a fault code. Entry in these fields is optional.
Fault # |
The fault code to be modified (Alphanumeric, 25). You can enter the code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the fault codes that are similar to the value entered here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the fault codes defined in the system. |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the status of the fault code to be modified. The system displays “Active”, “Inactive” and “Fresh”. The system retrieves all the fault codes whose status is similar to the value specified here. The system sets the field blank by default. Leave this field blank if you wish to retrieve fault codes irrespective of their status. |
ATA # |
The number identifying the ATA chapter (Alphanumeric, 16). You can enter the code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all fault codes under the ATA chapters that are similar to the value entered here. Leave this field blank, if you wish to retrieve fault codes irrespective of the ATA chapters. |
Fault Category |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the category of the fault code to be modified. The system provides the options “Observed” and “Cabin”. The system retrieves all the fault codes whose category is similar to the value specified here. The system sets the field blank by default. Leave this field blank if you wish to retrieve fault codes irrespective of their category. |
Key Word |
The key word to identify the fault code (Alphanumeric, 25). You can enter the key word in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the fault codes with key words that are similar to the value entered here. Leave this field blank, if you wish to retrieve fault codes irrespective of the key words. |
Fault Code Type |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the type of the fault code to be modified. The system provides the options “OEM” and “Airline”. The system retrieves all the fault codes whose fault code type is similar to the value specified here. The system sets the field blank by default. Leave this field blank if you wish to retrieve fault codes irrespective of their type. |
Base Aircraft Model # |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the aircraft model for which the fault code must be modified. The system lists all the aircraft model numbers defined in the “Aircraft” business component, which are in the “Active” status. The system retrieves all fault codes that are applicable to the aircraft model number selected here. Leave this field blank, if you want to retrieve fault codes irrespective of the aircraft model number. |
Model Description |
The textual description of the base aircraft model number (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the fault codes applicable to the aircraft model description specified here. Leave this field blank if you wish to retrieve fault codes irrespective of the aircraft model. |
Click the “Search” pushbutton, to search for the fault code.
The system displays the following:
Base Aircraft Model # |
The number identifying the base aircraft model to which fault codes have been associated. |
Fault # |
The fault code retrieved by the system. |
Fault Description |
The textual description of the fault code. |
Fault Category |
The category of the fault code as “Observed” or “Cabin”. |
ATA # |
The number identifying the ATA chapter under which the fault code is arranged. |
Status |
The status of the fault code, which could be “Active”, “Inactive” or “Fresh”. |
Fault Code Type |
The type of fault code, which can be either “OEM” or “Airline”. |
Model Effectivity |
Model effectivity denotes the fault code that is applicable to the aircraft model, which can be either “Single” or “Multiple”. |
Key Word |
The key word that identifies the fault code. |

Selecting fault codes for modification – An overview
This page allows you to select a fault code you need to modify. You can carry out a search based on the fault code number, status, category, key word, ATA chapter, or cause code. The system displays the fault codes that match the filter criteria. You can select a fault code and modify it.
