This page allows you to create or update cause codes against the fault code. Tell me more.

The “Edit Cause Code” page appears.

The system displays the following in the “Fault Details” group box:

ATA #

The ATA chapter selected in the “Select ATA Chapter” page.

Chapter Description

The textual description of the selected ATA chapter.

Zoom facility available.

Fault #

The fault code selected in the “Create Fault Code” page, for which cause codes must be defined.

Fault Description

The textual description of the selected fault code.

Zoom facility available.

Base Aircraft Model #

The aircraft model number selected in the “Create Fault Code” page.

Model Description

The textual description of the selected aircraft model.

Zoom facility available.

Cause #

The unique code to identify the cause code (Alphanumeric, 25).

Cause Description

The textual description of the cause code (Alphanumeric, 80). Mandatory, if the “New / Existing” field is set to “New”.

New / Existing

Use the drop-down list box to specify whether the cause code is new or already existing in the cause code master. The system sets the field to “Existing” by default.

The system displays the following:

Status

The status of the cause code as either “Active” or “Inactive”. For new cause codes, the system displays the status as “Active”.

Note: The system updates the cause codes against the selected fault code. For new cause codes, the system updates the cause code, description, user name and created date and sets the cause code status to “Active”.

Create Fault Codes - An overview

This page allows you to create or update cause codes against the fault code selected in the main page. You can specify a unique code to identify the cause code and a description for the cause code. You can also state whether the cause code is new or is already defined in the system. For new cause codes, the system updates the cause codes and sets the status to “Active”.
