Regularizing maintenance report for fault codification

Select the hyperlinked Maintenance Report number in the multiline of the “Select MR” page.
The “Regularize Maint. Report” page appears.
The system displays the following in the “Maint. Report Details” group box:

The number identifying the selected maintenance report number. |

The textual description of the selected maintenance report. Zoom facility available. |
The system displays the following in the “Fault Details” group box:
ATA # |
The number identifying the ATA chapter under which the fault code is listed. |
Enter the following in the “Fault Details” group box, to associate airline fault codes to the maintenance report:
Fault # |
The unique number to identify the airline fault code to be associated to the maintenance report (Alphanumeric, 25). Mandatory. By default, the system displays the fault number attached with the selected maintenance report. |

The fault code type as “OEM” or “Airline”. |
Enter the following:
Fault Description |
The textual description of the selected fault code (Alphanumeric, 80). Mandatory. Zoom facility available. |
Key Word |
The unique keyword to identify the fault code (Alphanumeric, 25). Mandatory. |
Base Aircraft Model # |
The number identifying the base aircraft model for which fault codes must be created (Alphanumeric, 20). Mandatory. |
Model Description |
The textual description of the aircraft model. Zoom facility available. |
Fault Particulars |
Any additional remarks pertaining to the fault (Alphanumeric, 2000). Zoom facility available. |
Fault Category |
Use the drop-down list box to classify the fault as “Cabin” or “Observed”. The system sets the field to “Observed” by default. |
Check the “Copy Work Unit” box, to copy work unit details for the selected maintenance report and save the work units for the selected fault code and cause code.
Enter the following in the “Cause Details” group box:

The unique number to identify the cause code to be associated to the maintenance report (Alphanumeric, 25). Mandatory. Help facility available. |
New / Existing |
Use the drop-down list box to specify whether the cause code is new or already defined in the system. The system sets the field to “Existing” by default. |
Cause Description |
The textual description of the cause code (Alphanumeric, 80). Mandatory, if the “New / Existing” field is set to “New”. Zoom facility available. |
Enter the following in the “Aircraft Details” multiline:
Aircraft Model # |
The aircraft model for which the fault code is applicable (Alphanumeric, 20). Ensure that the aircraft model is already defined in the “Create Aircraft Model” in the “Aircraft” business component and is in “Active” status. Zoom facility available. |
From Tab # |
The starting tab number in the range of tab numbers for which the fault code is applicable (Integer). Ensure the tab number is already defined in the “Create Aircraft Group” activity under the “Aircraft” business component. |
To Tab # |
The ending tab number in the range of tab numbers for which the fault code is applicable (Integer). Ensure the tab number is already defined in the “Create Aircraft Group” activity under the “Aircraft” business component. |

Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline, to mark the aircraft model for deletion.
Click the “Delete” icon in the tool bar above the multiline, to delete the aircraft model details.
Click the “Create Fault Code” pushbutton, to create the airline fault code.
The system creates the fault code and sets the fault code status to “Fresh”. The system stores the new cause code details along with the name of the user and the created date and sets the cause code status to “Active”.
To proceed, carry out the following

Regularizing maintenance report for fault codification – An overview
In this page, you can create airline fault code and cause code and attach it to the selected maintenance report. You can specify the aircraft model to which the fault code and cause code is applicable. You can also enter a range of aircraft numbers, belonging to the specified model, for which the created fault code and cause code is applicable.
The system creates the fault code and sets the fault code status to “Fresh”. The system stores the new cause code details along with the name of the user and the created date, and sets the cause code status to “Active”.

You can specify whether the cause code is new or already exists in the cause code master, in this page.
Set the “New / Existing” field to “New”, if the cause code created is new and does not exist in the cause code master.
Set the “New / Existing” field to “Existing”, if the cause code already exists in the cause code master and you only modified the cause code description.
Create fault codes of different category
Airline faults, based on whether they affect the airworthiness of an aircraft or not, can be categorized as “Cabin” and “Observed” faults.
Set the “Fault Category” field to “Observed”, to create an airline fault code of the “Observed” category.
Set the “Fault Category” field to “Cabin”, to create an airline fault code of the “Cabin” category.
You can copy the work unit details for the selected maintenance report. The copied work units are then associated with the specified fault code and cause code.
Enter the fault code, description and key word in the “Fault Details” group box.
Check the “Copy Work Unit” box in the Fault Details” group box, to copy the work units associated with the selected maintenance report.
Enter the cause code in the “Cause Details” group box.
Click the “Create FC” pushbutton at the bottom of the page.
The system saves the work units associated with the selected maintenance report with the specified fault code and cause code.
