Associating an ESR to an existing engineering advice note

Unified Glossary

Basics of using a typical web page

Using Online Help

This page allows you to associate the selected ESR to an existing EAN. Tell me more.

The “Associate Existing Advice Notes” page appears.

The system displays the following in the “Engg. Service Request Details” group box:

Engg Service Req #

The number identifying the ESR to which the EAN must be associated.

  • Click the ESR number in the multiline, to view the ESR details.

Requesting Org Unit

The organization unit that has raised the ESR.

Subject

The subject of the ESR.

Zoom facility available

The system displays the following in the “Search Criteria” group box:

Aircraft Model #

The aircraft model for which the ESR has been raised.

Note: If only the model number is available the system retrieves all the EANs which have the selected model number defined in the “Model Effectivity” list. The system also retrieves the EANs which do not have any model numbers defined in their “Model Effectivity” list.

Variable Tab #

The tab number of the aircraft model for which the ESR has been raised.

Note: If only the variable tab number is available the system retrieves all the EANs which have the selected variable tab number defined in the “Aircraft Effectivity” list. The system also retrieves the EANs which do not have any variable tab numbers defined in their “Aircraft Effectivity” list.

Part #

The part number of the component or the engine for which the ESR has been raised. The part number is displayed if the ESR has been raised for a “Component” or “Engine”.

Note: If only the part number is available the system retrieves all the EANs, which have the selected part number defined in the “Part Effectivity” list. The system also retrieves the EANs which do not have any part numbers defined in their “Part Effectivity” list.

Serial #

The serial number of the part for which the ESR has been raised. The part serial number will be displayed only if the ESR has been raised for a “Component” or “Engine”.

Note: If only the part serial number is available the system retrieves all the EANs, which have the selected part serial number defined in the “Serial # Effectivity” list. The system also retrieves the EANs, which do not have any part serial numbers defined in their “Serial # Effectivity” list.

Key Word

The keyword associated to the EAN (Alphanumeric, 25). The keyword must have been defined in the “Create Advice Note” page of this activity. You can enter the keyword in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the EANs, which contain keywords that are similar to the value entered here.

ATA #

The ATA chapter number associated to the ESR (Alphanumeric, 16).

Background Details

You can enter the background details in full or specify it partially using the “*” character (Alphanumeric, 255). The system displays all the EANs associated to the engineering service requests, which contain background details similar to the value entered here. The system displays the background details of the selected ESR by default.

Zoom facility available.

Note: Leave the fields blank if you wish to retrieve all the EANs.

The system displays the following in the “Search Results” multiline, based on the search criteria entered:

Note: The system retrieves and displays only EANs that are in the “Released” status.

For a “Response Declined” ESR, the EAN that was originally associated to the ESR will not be available in the “Search Results” multiline.

Engg Advice Note #

The number identifying the EAN.

Revision #

The revision number of the EAN.

Background Details

The description of the origin of the problem which led to the creation of the ESR is given in detail.

Recommendation

The maintenance action prescribed by the engineering department for the selected ESR.

ATA #

The ATA chapter number associated to the ESR.

Effectivity

The effectivity of the EAN, which could be one of the following:

§          Restricted – indicates that the EAN is applicable for only specific aircraft model, component or engine.

§          All – indicates that the EAN is applicable for all the aircraft, components or engines having the same model number or serial numbers.

Applicability

Indicates whether the ESR is applicable for “Aircraft”, “Component” or “Engine”.

Note: This action is workflow-enabled. You can configure further processing of this document in the "Workflow Management" business component.

The EAN number will be updated in the corresponding ESR.

Note: The ESR will retain the interim “Confirmed” or “Response Declined” status, till the EAN is released by the “Release Response” activity of the “Engineering Advice Note” business component.

Associating an ESR to an existing engineering advice note – An overview

This page allows you to associate the selected ESR to an existing EAN. You can carry out a search based on the keyword of the EAN and the background details of the ESR. The system retrieves and displays all the EANs in “Released” status, which match the search criteria. You can select an EAN and associate it to the ESR. The system stores the server date as the associated date.
