Help on Deferred Maintenance Report
This page allows you to retrieve the details of maintenance reports that have been deferred. You can carry out the search using the maintenance report number, aircraft registration number, deferral type etc. The system displays details such as the deferral item number, deferral item category, cause number, fault code etc.
Click the lens icon positioned next to the “Deferred Maintenance Report #” field in the main page.
The “Help on Deferred Maintenance Report” page appears.
The system displays the following fields:
Date Format |
The format in which the date fields appear in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
Enter the following in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for a maintenance report. Data entry in the following fields is optional:
Adv. Search ID |
Use the drop-down list box to select the search ID. The system retrieves the maintenance reports based on the filter criteria specified for the search ID. Leave this field blank if you wish to enter the search criteria fields. |
Select the “Edit” link alongside, to modify the search criteria for the selected search ID.
Note: You can also create a new search ID using the “Create Adv. Search ID” link available at the bottom of the page.
Maint. Report # |
The number of the maintenance report to be retrieved (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all maintenance reports with number similar to the value entered here. |
Processing Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the processing status of the maintenance report. The system lists the options “None”, “Under Analysis” and “Analyzed”. The system retrieves all maintenance reports that are of the status selected here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the discrepancies, irrespective of their processing status. |
Aircraft Reg # |
The registration number of the aircraft for which the maintenance report must be retrieved (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the maintenance reports raised for the aircraft registration number entered here. |
ATA # |
The ATA chapter on which the maintenance report has been raised (Alphanumeric, 16). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the maintenance reports raised for the ATA chapter entered here. |
Deferral Type |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the deferral type for the discrepancy. The system displays the options “MEL”, “CDL”, "DMI" and “Others”. The system retrieves maintenance reports, which have discrepancies of the specified deferral type. By default, the system leaves this field blank. |
Value Basis |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the basis on which deferral values have to be retrieved. The system lists the options “Due Values less than”, “Due Values equal to” and “Due values greater than”. This field is set to “Due value less than”. |
Deferral Value – FH |
The deferral value for the discrepancy in terms of flight hours (Numeric). Based on the option selected in the “Value basis” field, the system will retrieve all discrepancies whose deferral value – flight hours match the value entered here. For example, if you have set the “Value Basis” field to “Due Values equal to” and entered 50 in this field, then the system will retrieve all discrepancies whose deferral value – flight hours is equal to 50. |
Deferral Value – FC |
The deferral value for the discrepancy in terms of flight cycles (Numeric). Based on the option selected in the “Value basis” field, the system will retrieve all discrepancies whose deferral value – flight cycles match the value entered here. For example, if you have set the “Value Basis” field to “Due Values equal to” and entered 10 in this field, then the system will retrieve all discrepancies whose deferral value – flight cycles is equal to 10. |
Deferral Value – EH |
The deferral value for the discrepancy in terms of block hours (Numeric). Based on the option selected in the “Value basis” field, the system will retrieve all discrepancies whose deferral value – block hours match the value entered here. For example, if you have set the “Value Basis” field to “Due Values equal to” and entered 25 in this field, then the system will retrieve all discrepancies whose deferral value – block hours is equal to 25. |
Deferral Value – LC |
The deferral value for the discrepancy in terms of landing cycles (Numeric). Based on the option selected in the “Value basis” field, the system will retrieve all discrepancies whose deferral value – landing cycles match the value entered here. For example, if you have set the “Value Basis” field to “Due Values equal to” and entered 15 in this field, then the system will retrieve all discrepancies whose deferral value – landing cycle is equal to 15. |
Time Due : Till Date |
Enter the due deferral date in this field (Date format). The system will retrieve all discrepancies, which have to be processed with the date mentioned in this field. |
Click the “Search” pushbutton to display the search results.
Note: The system retrieves all those maintenance reports for which the record status is “Deferred”.
The system displays the following in the “Search Results” multiline:
Aircraft Reg # |
The registration number of the aircraft against which a maintenance report has been raised. |
Maint. Report # |
The number of the maintenance report that has to be retrieved. |

The textual description of the maintenance report. |
MR Class |
The class to which the maintenance report belongs. |
ATA # |
The ATA chapter on which discrepancy has been reported. |
Processing Status |
The processing status of the maintenance report, which can be “None”, “Under Analysis” and “Analyzed”. |
Tracking Status |
The user-defined tracking status defined for the discrepancy. |
Deferral Type |
The deferral type of the maintenance report, which can be “PIREP” or “MIREP”. |
Deferral Item # |
The deferral item number against which a discrepancy has been reported. |
Deferral Item Category |
The category to which the deferred item belongs. |
Cause # |
The unique number of the cause code, which has been associated to the maintenance report. |
Fault # |
The fault code defined in the Fault Isolation Manual component that is applicable to the discrepancy being reported. |
Maintenance Event |
The maintenance event defined for the maintenance report. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select the maintenance report.
Click the “Ok” pushbutton.
