Select the “View Minimum Equipment List” link at the bottom of the “View Model Configuration” page.
The “View Minimum Equipment List” page appears.
The system displays the following fields in the “Model Details” group box:
Aircraft Model # |
The aircraft model for which the minimum equipment list is displayed. |
Aircraft Make |
The manufacturer of the aircraft. Zoom facility available. |
The system displays the following fields in the “Configuration Class Details” group box:
Revision # |
The revision number of the model configuration. |
Configuration Class |
The configuration class to which the aircraft model is associated. |
Config. Status |
The status of the configuration class which could be “Fresh”, “Active” or “Revised”. |
The system displays the following fields in the “MEL Details” multiline:
MEL Item # |
The number identifying the MEL item that must be included |
MEL Item Desc |
The textual description of the MEL item |
Part # |
The part number of the MEL item |
MEL Category |
The MEL category to which the MEL item belongs. |
MEL Category Desc |
The textual description of the MEL category |
Item Status |
The status of the MEL item. |
Number Installed |
The total quantity specified for the part in the model. |
MEL Quantity |
The quantity of the part to be included in the minimum equipment list |
Number Required |
The minimum quantity of the part to be included in the MEL (Decimal). |
Position Based? |
The system displays “Yes” in this field, when the MEL quantity for the part is less than the total quantity specified for the part in the model. The position code details, for the quantity of the part included in the MEL, can be viewed by selecting the “View MEL Position Details” link provided at the bottom of this page. |
Conditional? |
Indicates that the usage of the part in an unserviceable state is based on certain conditions. The system displays either “Yes” or “No”. |
Conditions |
The conditions or the factors governing the usage of the part in an unserviceable state. |
Part Description |
The textual description of the part. |
Deferral Task # |
The task performed during the first scheduled maintenance to rectify a deferred discrepancy, which would have occurred during a maintenance activity. |
Deferral Rev. Task # |
The task performed during the second scheduled maintenance in case of further deferment in the discrepancy rectification. |
Operational Procedures |
The operational procedures of flying the aircraft with the part in an unserviceable state. |
Maintenance Procedures |
The maintenance procedures of flying the aircraft with the part in an unserviceable state. |
Placard |
Indicates whether a placard must be posted at the location of the MEL item. The system displays either “Required” or “Not Required”. |
Placarding Instructions |
The instructions to be given on the placard |
File Name |
The file name of the document that contains MEL item details. |
The system displays the following field in the "Document Attachment Details" group box:
File Name |
The file name of the document attached to the Minimum Equipment List. Zoom facility available. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark the part for viewing the position code details.

Viewing minimum equipment list – An overview
Minimum equipment list (MEL) is the list of equipment approved by the aviation authority, which may remain in an unserviceable state under certain operating conditions, but still provide an acceptable level of safety in the operation of the aircraft.
In this page you can view the details of the parts included in the minimum equipment list. The following details can be viewed:
the part number
whether the usage of the part in an unserviceable state is based on certain conditions
the conditions or the factors governing the usage of the part in an unserviceable state
the quantity of the part included in the MEL
the maintenance and operational implications of flying the aircraft with these parts in an unserviceable state.
The total quantity of parts in the model configuration and the quantity of the part included in the MEL are displayed.
For every part, the position code details for the quantity included in the MEL can be viewed in the “Model Configuration : MEL Position Information” page.
