The “Edit Spare Part Position Information” page appears.

The system displays the following fields in the “Spare Part Details” group box:

Part #

The part number

Spare Part #

The spare part for which the position code information must be updated.

Part Description

The textual description of the spare part.

Zoom facility available.

Quantity

The required quantity of spare parts (Decimal). Mandatory. Ensure that the number entered in this field is positive. The system displays the quantity specified for the spare part in the “Spare Part Definition for Aircraft” page. You can modify the quantity.

The system displays the following field:

UOM

The unit of measurement of the spare part.

The system displays the following fields in the “Spare Part Position” multiline, if position codes have already been generated for the spare parts.

Position Number

The position code to which the spare part must be fitted (Alphanumeric, 25). This field should be unique in the multiline. Ensure that this field is entered only for non-trackable spare parts.

Note: Ensure that the number of position codes defined for the spare part is equal to the quantity of spare parts specified in the “Spare Part Information” page.

Status

Use the drop-down list box to specify the status of the position code of the spare part. The system displays “Active” by default.

Set the status as “Inactive” if you wish to disable this position code due to a modification in the configuration, which will make the position code defunct or physically non-existent.

Note: The system updates the spare part position details and the quantity of spare part required for the part configuration.

Defining spare part position information – An overview

Maintain Part Configuration A summary of the activity

In this page, you can create or modify the position code details of the spare parts identified for the part. The position codes can be created manually or generated by the system. For trackable spare parts, the system generates the position codes using the prefix that you have specified and the suffix as numbers starting from 1. For example, if you have specified the prefix as “BRG” and the quantity of spare parts as “3”, the system generates the position codes BRG01, BRG02 and BRG03. For non-trackable spare parts, you can enter the position codes manually and modify them whenever needed.

You can modify the quantity of the spare part required for the part configuration and add or modify the position codes for the spare parts and also modify the status of the position code.
