Managing data subscription for recipients
Select the “Manage Data Subscription for Recipients” activity under the “Central Data Replication Configurator” business component.
The “Manage Data Subscription for Recipients” page appears.
Enter the following:
Recipient Unit |
Use the drop-down list and select the Recipient Unit. Mandatory. The system lists all the subscription IDs for all the active OUs participating in Data Replication as defined in “Setup Operating Units for Data Replication” activity, in alphabetical order. |
The system displays the following:
Data Subscription |
The status of data subscription, which could be “Pending”, “Inprogress” or “Completed”. |
Enter the following in the “Search Criteria” group box:
Functional Area |
Use the drop-down list and select the functional area associated to each entity participating in data replication. The system lists the options “All”, “Maintenance”, “Materials”, “Finance”, “Sales” and “HRMS”. By default, the system displays “All”. |
Entity |
Use the drop-down list box and select the entity. The system lists all the Entities with the Replication Strategy "Initial" or "Full" as defined in the “Setup Entities for Data Replication” activity corresponding to the Functional Area selected. If Functional Area is selected as “All”, the system lists all the entities available across all the Functional Areas. By default, the system displays “All”. |
Data Element Group |
Use the drop-down list box and select the data element group that represents the logical grouping of data elements within an entity. The system lists the values based on the Entity selected.
|
Check the following boxes:
Show Related Entities |
Check this box to retrieve and display all the related entities specific to the selected entity, on search. The related entities are retrieved and displayed based on the functional area selected. |
Click the “Search” pushbutton.
The system displays the following in the “Data Element Details” multiline:
Functional Area |
The functional area associated to the entity. |
Entity |
The entity comprising the data element to be replicated across operating units. |
Data Element Group |
The data element group represents logical grouping of data elements within an entity. |
Data Element |
The date element considered for replication. |
Central Repl. Strategy |
The Replication Strategy defined in for the respective data element in the “Setup Data Elements for Replication” activity. |
Permitted Strategies |
The permitted Replication Strategy for each data element. The system displays the values “None”, “Initial”, “Full Condition” and/or “Full”.
|
Modifiable? |
Indicate whether that the Replication Strategy of the data element can be modified by the Recipient Unit or not. The system displays “Yes”, if the check box 'Modifiable?' is checked in “Setup Data Element for Replication” activity. Else, the system displays “No”. |
Enter the following in the multiline:
Replication Strategy |
Use the drop-down list box and select the Replication Strategy for the data element as “Full”, “Full Condition”, “Initial” or “None”. Mandatory. Note the following:
The Replication Strategy can be upgraded only if none of the Subscriber ID is initialized. For example, Replication strategy cannot be changed from “Initial” to “Full”, if at least one of the Subscriber ID is initialized. . Downgrading of Replication Strategy is allowed after initialization of OU only if the parameter ‘‘Allow modification of Data Replication Setup even if the Configurator Setup is "Completed"?’ is set as '1' in the “Set Options for Data Replication” activity. By default, the system leaves the field blank. |
Remarks |
Any remarks related to data subscription setup. |
The system displays the following:
Error Message |
The error message if any, displayed while updating subscription details. |
Data Element Constituents |
The constituents of the data element. |
Entity Related to |
The entities related to the entity selected in the header. |
Modified? |
Indicate whether that the Replication Strategy for the data element is modified by the Recipient Unit or not. The system displays “Yes” if the Replication Strategy is modified, else the system displays “No”. |
Created By |
The login ID of the user who created the record. |
Created Date |
The date and time at which the record was created. |
Last Modified By |
The login ID of the user who last modified the record. |
Last Modified Date |
The date and time at which the record was last modified. |
Click the “Save” pushbutton to update the data element details.
The system displays an error if any concurrent user attempts to modify the data element details.
The system updates the Data Subscription Setup Status for a Recipient Unit as follows:
§ ‘Pending’, if Replication Strategy is not defined even for one Data Element for any of the Entities participating in Data Replication.
§ ‘Inprogress’, if Replication Strategy is defined for one or more Data Elements but not for all the Data Elements corresponding to all the Entities participating in Data Replication.
§ ‘Completed’, if Replication Strategy is defined for all the Data Elements for all the Entities participating in Data Replication.
If the Configurator Setup is “Completed” and if the parameter ‘Allow modification of Data Replication Setup even if the Configurator Setup is "Completed"?’ is set as '1' in the “Set Options for Data Replication” activity, the system allows the user to add new information and / or modify any existing information in the “Manage Data Subscription for Recipients” activity.
Note: If the above parameter is set as ’0’, the system does not allow the user to add new information and / or modify any existing information in the “Manage Data Subscription for Recipients” activity.
