Searching for pending work units
Using this tab you can search for the pending work units.
Select the “Search Criteria” tab in the “Select Work Units” page, to search for the pending work units.
Remaining Days < = |
The number of days remaining before the forecasted arising of the pending work units (Integer). Ensure that this is a positive value. The system retrieves all the work units for which the “Scheduled Date” falls within the specified remaining days. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the work units irrespective of the remaining days. |
Note: Remaining days = Scheduled date of a work unit – Current Server Date
Adv. Search ID |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the code that identifies a set of advanced search options to retrieve the pending work units. The system lists all the advanced search IDs defined by the login user in the login organization unit. The system retrieves the work units based on the filter criteria specified in the advanced search criteria with due consideration on other filter conditions. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the pending work units irrespective of the advance search options. |
Ø Select the “Edit” link provided alongside, to edit the advance search options.
Est. Elapsed Time < = |
The estimated elapsed time of the pending work units (Decimal). Ensure that this is a positive value. The system retrieves all the pending work units in which the estimated elapsed time is less than or equal to the value specified here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the pending work units irrespective of the estimated elapsed time. |
Use the drop-down list box provided alongside, to specify the unit of measurement for the estimated elapsed time. The system displays the options, “Hours”, “Days” and “Weeks”. The system displays “Hours” by default. |
Note: The conversion of the estimated elapsed time values into hours, days or weeks, is defined in the “Maintain Standard Work Calendar” activity of the “Common Master” business component.
Primary Work Center # |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the work center with which the pending work unit is associated. The system displays all the work centers as created in the “Work Center” business component and which are in “Active” status |
The system retrieves all the pending work units that are associated with the primary work center specified here and also the work units that are not associated with any of the work centers. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the pending work units irrespective of the primary work centers with which the work units are associated. |

Execution Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the execution type of the work unit. The system provides the options “Major” and “Minor”. Leave the field blank to retrieve work units irrespective of the execution type. The system leaves the field blank, by default. |
Note: For work units that are retrieved from ”Component Maintenance Planning” business component, the system sets the field to “Minor” by default, if the job type of the work units is “Component Removal”.
Comp. Jobs on Allocated Removals |
Use the drop-down list box to specify whether you wish to suppress or retrieve the on-wing work units that must be performed on components, which are already slated for removal. If you set the field to “Suppress”, the system suppresses the on-wing work units that must be performed on a component, which is already slated for removal. Only those on-wing work units that are forecasted through “Component Maintenance Forecast” will be considered for suppression. If you set the field to “Display”, the system retrieves the on-wing work units that must be performed on a component, even though the component is already slated for removal. The system set the field to “Display” by default. |
Note: If the “Suppress” option is selected in this field, then the system suppresses all the on-wing work units performed on the component and its child components (if any), only if the schedule start date of the work units is later than the schedule start date of the component removal job existing for the parent component. |

Date Basis |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the type of date such as compliance, scheduled or alert date, based on which the pending work units must be retrieved. The system lists the options, “Earliest Compliance Date”, “Schedule Date”, “Latest Compliance Date”, “Plan Date” and “Alert Date”. By default, the system displays “Schedule Date”. Leave this field blank to retrieve the pending work units irrespective of the date type. |
Date from |
The starting date of a particular date type of a pending work unit (Date Format). The starting date may correspond to the “Earliest Compliance Date”, “Scheduled Date”, “Latest Compliance Date” or “Alert Date”, as selected in the “Date Basis” field. The system retrieves all the pending work units in which the starting date is equal to or later than the date specified here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the pending work units irrespective of the starting date. |
Date to |
The ending date of a particular date type of a pending work unit (Date Format). The ending date may correspond to the “Earliest Compliance Date”, “Scheduled Date”, “Latest Compliance Date” or “Alert Date”, as selected in the “Date Basis” field. The system retrieves all the pending work units in which the ending date is equal to or earlier than the date specified here. By default, the system displays the end date as the sum of the “Current Date” and “Planning Horizon for Job Allocation (Days)” as entered in the “Set Options” activity. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the pending work units irrespective of the ending date. |
Note: Ensure that ”Date To” is later than “Date From”. The dates are considered either in GMT or local time, based on the options set in the “Time Zone” systems parameter in the “Set Options” activity of the current business component.
Ø Enter the following, to specify the source from where the pending work units need to be retrieved.
Aircraft Work Units |
Check this box, if you wish to retrieve the pending aircraft work units for the specified aircraft. |
Deferred Work Units |
Check this box, if you wish to retrieve the deferred work units |
Component Removal |
Check this box, if you wish to retrieve work units pertaining to removal of a component. |
Direct Eng. Docs |
Check this box, if you wish to retrieve work units in the “Released” status from the engineering documents including EOs and FCDs. This box remains checked, by default. |
On Wing Component Jobs |
Check this box, if you wish to retrieve the work units to be performed on attached components. |
Discrepancy / Maint. Report |
Check this box, if you wish to retrieve the work units that are associated with discrepancies or maintenance reports associated to the aircraft. The system retrieves all the work units that are associated with discrepancy or maintenance report with “Record Status” as “Pending” or “Deferred”, or with maintenance report with the “processing status” as “Analyzed” in the “Discrepancy Processing” business component. |
Aircraft On-Wing Jobs |
Check this box to retrieve the aircraft on-wing jobs from the aircraft forecast log. |
As Required |
Check this box, to retrieve work units from the “Aircraft Maintenance Program” and “Component Maintenance Program”, for which no schedules are defined in the maintenance program. |
Un-forecasted |
Check this box, to retrieve un-forecasted work units. The system retrieves all the "Aircraft" and "On-Wing" work units associated to the aircraft registration number for which the maintenance forecasts are yet to be defined, but the periodicity schedules are available in the corresponding aircraft and component maintenance programs that are in “Active” status. |
Note: For work units that are retrieved from ”Component Maintenance Planning” business component, the system sets the field to “Minor” by default, if the job type of the work units is “Component Removal”.
Click the “Search” pushbutton, to retrieve the work units based on the search criteria.
Note: Leave all the fields in the “Search Criteria” group box blank, to retrieve all the pending work units forecasted from the aircraft and component maintenance programs.
