Selecting CWO for modification
This page allows you to select a component work order to modify its details. Tell me more.
Select the “Edit Component Work Order” link under the “Component Work Order” business component.
The “Select Component Work Order” page appears.
The system displays the following field:
Date Format |
The format in which the date field is displayed. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the "Enterprise Modeling" business component by default. |
Enter the following field in the “Direct Entry” group box, if you know the CWO number for which the details must be modified:
Comp. Work Order # |
The number identifying the component work order for which the details must be modified (Alphanumeric, 18). |
Select the “Edit CWO” link provided alongside to modify the details of the component work order.
To search for a component work order
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for a component work order. Data entry in the following fields is optional:
Comp. Work Order # |
The number of the component work order for which you wish to modify the details (Alphanumeric, 18). You can enter the CWO number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all CWO numbers that are similar to the number entered here. |
Maintenance Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the component work order to be modified. The system lists the options “Inspection”, “Repair”, “Overhaul” and “Others”. The system retrieves component work orders of the type specified here. Leave this field blank to retrieve the CWOs irrespective of their maintenance type. |
Part # |
The part number to which the component belongs (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the part number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all CWO numbers whose values are similar to the value entered here. |
Component # |
The number identifying the component against which the CWO is raised (Alphanumeric, 90). You can enter the component number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all CWO numbers whose values are similar to the value entered here. |
Work Scope # |
The number identifying the work scope against which the CWO is raised (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the work scope number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all CWO numbers with work scope numbers entered here. |
Category |
Use the drop-down list box to select the category to which the CWO belongs. The system lists all the ‘active’ quick codes of type “CWO Category” copied from the “Work Scope Categories” defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity of the “Component Maintenance Planning” business component. The system retrieves the CWO number of the category specified here. Leave this field blank to retrieve the CWOs irrespective of their category. |
CWO Authorization Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the authorization status of the component work order. The system lists the following options:
By default, this field is left blank. |
Work Center # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the work center, which is responsible for the CWO execution. The system lists all the active work centers that are associated with the login organizational unit and for which the login user has access rights. The system retrieves component work orders that are raised in the work center specified here. Leave this field blank to retrieve the CWOs irrespective of their work centers. |
CWO Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the CWO to be modified. According to the option selected in the “Modification of CWO” field in the “Set Options” activity, the system lists the following options: If the “Modification of CWO” field is set as “Allowed”, “Requires Re-Authorization” or “Only New Tasks can be Added”, then the following options are listed: |

If the “Modification of CWO” field is set as “Not Allowed after Scheduling”, then the system lists only “Fresh” in the above field. |
User Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the user status of the CWO to be modified. The system lists all the ‘active’ quick codes of the type “User Status” defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity. The system retrieves all the component work orders that are in the user status specified here. Leave this field blank to retrieve the CWOs irrespective of their user statuses. |
Job Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the job type of the component work order. The system displays the following options: “Component”, “Receipt-Inspection”, “Facility”, “Piece Part”, “Make”, “Project” and “Miscellaneous”. The system retrieves details of component work orders that belong to the selected job type. This field is set to “Component” by default. |
Note: If job type other than “Component” is selected, then system displays all the component work order raised on the parts whose object type is identified as “Non-component” in “Identify Non-Component Maintenance Objects” activity of the “Aircraft” business component. |

CWO Priority |
Use the drop-down list box to indicate the priority for execution of the component work order you want to modify. The drop-down list displays all priorities defined in the Common Masters component, having both Active and Inactive status. The system retrieves component work orders that are assigned the priority that you specify. |
Planned Date: From |
The date on which the component work order execution is planned to be started (Date Format). |
Planned Date: To |
The date on which the component work order execution is planned to be completed (Date Format). Ensure that this date is not earlier than the date entered in the “Planned Date: To” field. |
Note: Leave all the fields blank, to retrieve all the component work orders created in the login organizational unit, that are in the “Fresh”, “Scheduled” or “In-Progress” status.
Click the “Search” pushbutton to display the search results.
The system displays the following fields in the “Search Results” multiline based on the filter criteria entered:

The type of maintenance job to be performed. |
Part # |
The part number to which the component belongs. |
Part Description |
The textual description of the part. |
Serial # |
The serial number of the component against which the work order is raised. |
Job Status |
The job status of the component work order, which could be “Fresh”, “Scheduled” or “In-Progress”. |
Authorization Status |
The authorization status of component work order. The system displays one of the following options, “Authorized”, “Pending Authorization”, “Returned” or “Not Required”. |
User Status |
The user-defined status of the component work order. |
Enter the following field if you cancel the component work order:
Comments |
Any comment pertaining to the cancellation of component work order (Alphanumeric, 255). |

Indicates the priority for execution of the component work order. |

The number identifying the work scope for which the component work order is created |

The name of the customer of the customer order. |
Customer # |
The identification number of the customer. |
Note: If the component work order is generated against any discrepancy or maintenance report, ensure that the status of the discrepancy or maintenance report is “Under Resolution”.
Click the hyperlinked CWO number in the multiline, to modify the CWO details.
To cancel CWO
You can cancel the component work order in this page. Only the component work orders of the status “Fresh” and “Scheduled” can be cancelled. Also ensure that no material is issued against the CWO selected for cancellation.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select the component work order for cancellation.
Click the “Cancel CWO (S)" pushbutton to cancel the selected component work order.
Note: If mandatory work units are available in the work package of the “Component Maintenance Program” business component during canceling of the work order, the system automatically moves those work units to the pending tray for processing.
Note: This action is workflow-enabled. Notification messages can be sent as per the settings you have defined in the "Workflow Management" business component.
The system sets the status of the component work order as “Cancelled”.
If a material request that is generated against the CWO/Task is short closed, the system performs the following:
Updates the status of the material request as “Short Closed” in the “Material Request” business component.
Updates the status of the stock issue document existing in “Fresh” or “Draft” status for the short closed material request, to “Cancelled”. The system also updates the status of the stock transfer issue documents existing in “Draft”, “Fresh” or “Authorized” status to “Cancelled”.
Selecting CWO for modification – An overview
In this page, you can select a component work order to modify its details. If you know the CWO number, you can directly enter it. Otherwise, you can carry out a search based on the CWO number, maintenance type, part number, component number, category of the CWO, work center, job status of CWO, user-status of CWO, job type, work scope number and the start and end dates for CWO execution. Details such as CWO number, its description, part number, serial number, job status of CWO, category of CWO and user-status are displayed.
The system retrieves component work orders that are in the “Fresh”, “Scheduled” or “In-Progress” status.
You can also cancel the component work order in this page. Only CWOs in “Fresh” or “Scheduled” status can be cancelled. The system sets the status of the component work order as “Cancelled”. If the component work order is generated against a work scope, then on cancellation, the tasks of the work scope attain the ”Pending” status.
