Selecting discrepancies or maintenance reports for processing
This page allows you to select discrepancies or maintenance reports for processing. Tell me more.
Select the “Process Discrepancies / Maintenance Reports” link under the “Component Work Order” business component.
The “Select Discrepancies / Maintenance Reports” page appears.
The system displays the following field:
Date Format |
The format in which the date field is displayed. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user id. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the "Enterprise Modeling" business component by default. |
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for the discrepancy or maintenance report. Data entry in the following fields is optional:
Discrepancy # |
The number identifying the discrepancy that must be processed (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the discrepancies whose number matches the value entered here. |
Maint. Report # |
The number of the maintenance report that must be processed (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all maintenance reports whose number matches the value entered here. |
Part # |
The part number associated to the discrepancy or maintenance report (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all discrepancies or maintenance reports with the part number entered here. |
Part Serial # |
The serial number of the part associated to the discrepancy or maintenance report (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all discrepancies or maintenance reports with the part serial number entered here. |
Part Description |
The textual description of the part (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. |
ATA # |
The ATA chapter on which discrepancies have been reported (Alphanumeric, 16). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the discrepancies reported for the system whose ATA number matches the value entered here. |
Component # |
The component on which the discrepancies are reported (Alphanumeric, 90). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all discrepancies or maintenance reports with the component number entered here. |
Record Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the record status of the discrepancy or maintenance report. The system displays the value the following options: “Deferred” - Select this option to view the details of discrepancies or maintenance reports that have been deferred. “Pending” – Select this option to view the details of discrepancies or maintenance reports that are pending. By default, the system leaves this field blank. Leave this field blank to retrieve the discrepancies or maintenance reports irrespective of their record status |
Source Doc Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the source document type. The system lists the options “Tech Log”, “Hangar Work Order” and “Component Work Order”. By default, the system leaves this field blank. Leave this field blank to retrieve the discrepancies or maintenance reports irrespective of their source document type. |
Processing Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the processing status of the discrepancy or maintenance report. The system lists as options “Under Analysis” and “Analyzed”. By default, the system leaves this field blank. Leave this field blank to retrieve the discrepancies or maintenance reports irrespective of their processing status. |
Reported Date : From |
The starting date in the range of dates on which the discrepancy or maintenance report was reported (Date Format). The system retrieves the discrepancies or maintenance reports that were reported on or after the date entered here. |
Reported Date : To |
The ending date in the range of dates on which the discrepancy or maintenance report was reported (Date Format). The system retrieves the discrepancies or maintenance reports that were reported on or before the date entered here. |
Note: Ensure that the date entered in the”Reported Date: From is not later than the date entered in the Reported Date: To field.
Click the “Search” pushbutton to display the search results.
The system displays the following fields in the “Search Results” multiline based on the filter criteria entered:

The textual description of the discrepancy or maintenance report. |

The record status of the discrepancy or maintenance report which could be “Pending”. |

The processing status of the discrepancy or maintenance report, which could be “Under Analysis” or “Analyzed”. |

The part number on which the discrepancy or maintenance report is reported |
Serial # |
The serial number of the part on which the discrepancy or maintenance report is reported |

The component on which the discrepancies / maintenance reports are reported |

The source document type of discrepancy or maintenance report, which could be “Tech Log”, “Hangar Work Order” and “Component Work Order”. |

The date on which the discrepancy or MR is reported |

The login ID of the user who reported the discrepancy |
Inspected By |
The login ID of the user who inspected the component |
Work Center # |
The work center in which the inspection was carried out. |
Select the check box in the multiline to select discrepancy or maintenance report.
Note: Ensure that the discrepancy or maintenance report is in “Pending” status before selection. Also ensure that the discrepancy or maintenance report is raised on the same component number.
You can create a component work order or repair order only for one component.
Click the “Select Discrepancy/MR” pushbutton to select the discrepancy or maintenance report.
The system displays the following fields in the “Selected Discrepancy / MR Details” multiline based on the the selection made in the “ Search Results” multiline :

To proceed, carry out the following:
Select the “Create CWO” link to create component work order for resolving the selected discrepancies or maintenance reports.
Select the “Create Repair Order” link to create repair order for resolving the selected discrepancies or maintenance reports.
Selecting discrepancies or maintenance reports for processing – An overview
This page allows you to select discrepancies or maintenance reports for processing. You can carry out a search for the discrepancies or maintenance reports by specifying the discrepancy number, maintenance report number, part number, part serial number, part description, ATA chapter number, component number, record status, source document type, processing status and the range of reported dates. The system retrieves the search results in the “Search Results” multiline and from this multiline you can select the discrepancy / MR, which is reported against the same component number to “Selected Discrepancy / MR Details” multiline.
You can select the discrepancy or maintenance report from the “Selected Discrepancy / MR Details” multiline and create component work order or repair order.
