Using Online Help

The system displays the following fields in the “Discrepancy / MR Details” group box, if the component work order is generated against a discrepancy or maintenance report:

Discrepancy Count

The number of discrepancies for which the component work order is being created.

The system displays the total number of discrepancies selected in the “Selected Discrepancy / MR details” multiline of the “Select Discrepancies / Maintenance Reports” page of  the “Process Discrepancies / Maintenance Reports” activity.

Maint. Report Count

The number of maintenance reports for which the component work order is being created.

The system displays the total number of maintenance reports selected in the “Selected Discrepancy / MR details” multiline of theSelect Discrepancies / Maintenance Reports” page of  the “Process Discrepancies / Maintenance Reports” activity.

Note: The corresponding work unit details are retrieved in the multiline.

Planned Start Date & Time

The date on which the component work orders execution is scheduled for start (Date Format).

Enter the time in the field alongside (Time Format). This field is set to the current server date and time, by default.

Note: If the component work order is being created against a work scope, then this field is set to the earliest schedule date of the work units listed in the work scope, by default. If schedule date is not available in the work units of the work scope, the required date is set as the planned start date. If required date is not available, the system sets the current server date.

Planned End Date & Time

The date on which the component work order execution is scheduled for completion (Date Format).

Enter the time in the field alongside (Time Format)

Note: Ensure that the start date is not later than the end date.

Est. Elapsed Time

The estimated elapsed time for component work order execution (Decimal). Ensure that the value entered is positive.

Use the drop-down list box provided alongside to select the time unit for estimated elapsed time. The system lists the options “Days”, and “Hours”

Note: If the component work order is being created against a work unit of the work scope, then the system displays the estimated elapsed time of the latest ending work unit among all the work units in the work scope.

Required Date

The date on which the component work order is required to be executed (Date Format).

Authorization

Use the drop-down list box to specify if the component work order requires authorization or not. The system provides the following options:

  • “Required” – Select this option if the component work order needs to be authorized.

  • “Not required” – Select this option if authorization of component work order is not required.

  • “Customer. Auth. Reqd” – Select this option if customer authorization of the component work order is required.

Authorization Comments

Any additional comments pertaining to authorization of the component work order.

The system displays the following in the “Work Unit Details” multiline:

Link Info

Indicates whether the part numbers and resource details are required for the task execution. The system displays one of the following:

  • P - if part details are available.

  • R – if resource details are available.

  • N- if notes are available.

  • PRN – if part details, resource details and notes are entered.

Seq #

The sequence in which the tasks should be performed, while executing the component work order (Integer). Ensure that the sequence number is positive and is unique in the multiline.

If you have left the sequence number blank, the system automatically assigns a sequence number to each of them, in the order in which they are entered in the multiline, on clicking the “Create Work Order” pushbutton. Ensure that you do not leave it blank for any of the tasks occurring in between.

Task #

The number identifying the task that must be performed for component work order execution (Alphanumeric, 30). Mandatory. Ensure that the task has already been defined in the “Create Task” activity of the “Maintenance Task” business component and is in “Active” status.

If you enter a new task in this field ensure that the applicability of the task is not “Aircraft”.

Help facility available.

Note: If you have entered a part number in the “Component Details” group box, ensure that the part number is already defined as the component effectivity for the task entered in this field.

If the base part number of the part is associated to the task, ensure that the “Modified Part # Applicability” field is set to “Yes” for the task in the “Component Effectivity” page of the “Maintenance Task” business component.

The system displays the following field in the “Work Unit Details” multiline:

Revision #

The revision number of the task.

Task Description

The textual description of the task (Alphanumeric, 150).

A Tip: If you have not specified any task number but have entered details in the “Task Description” field, the system generates a non-standard task in the “Maintenance Task” business component. This task will contain a sub-task and the resource group will be set as “Inspector & Mechanic”.

Work Center #

Use the drop-down list box to select the work center in which the task will be performed. The system lists all the ‘active’ work centers in the alphabetical order, defined in the “ Create Work Center” activity of the “ Work Center” business component. Ensure that the work center is already associated to the login OU and the task in the multiline. Also the work unit or maintenance type applicability must be checked.

Est. Man Hrs

The total man-hours estimated to complete the task (Decimal). Ensure that the value entered is positive.

Time Unit

Use the drop-down list box to select the time unit for the time allotted for the task. The system lists the options “Hours” and “Days” and sets the field to “Hours” by default.

Est. Elapsed Time

The time estimated to complete the task (Decimal). Ensure that the value entered is positive.

Note: If the estimated elapsed time is not specified, the system calculates the time as follows:

  1. The latest date (that is, the last end date of all work units) is set as the Planned End Date and Time for the CWO.

  2. The planned start date and time is subtracted from the planned end date and time, to arrive at the estimated elapsed time.

While creating a non-standard task, if the “Est. Elapsed Time” is not provided, the system will set the estimated elapsed time as one hour.

Planned Start Date

The date on which the maintenance task is planned to be started (Date Format).

Planned Start Time

The time at which the maintenance task is planned to be started (Time Format).

Planned End Date

The date on which the maintenance task is planned to be completed (Date Format).

Planned End Time

The time at which the maintenance task is planned to be completed (Time Format).

Note: Ensure that the start date and time is not later than the end date and time. If the “Planned Start Date” is not available for a task, the system considers the Planned Start Date of the Work order.

If the “Planned End date” has not been specified, the system calculates the date as follows:

Planned End Date = Planned Start Date + Estimated Elapsed Time of the Work Unit.

Task Priority

Use the drop-down list box to select the priority for the task. The system lists all the priority descriptions defined in the “Create Priority Numbers” activity of the “Common Master” business component. The system displays the description of the highest priority number by default.

Expense Type

Use the drop-down list box and select any one of the options: “Revenue” or “Capital”, to specify the expense type for the component work order.

The system displays the value “Revenue” by default.

Tip: If you wish to insert tasks in the multiline and assign sequence number for them, click the “Regenerate Seq. #” pushbutton to rearrange the existing rows in the ascending order of the sequence number. The system regenerates the sequence number in multiples of five, thereby enabling you to specify the sequence number for the newly added sub task.
