Entering part effectivity details for work package
In this page, you can define the part effectivity, which indicates the applicability of the work package for the parts. Tell me more.
Select the “Edit Part Effectivity” link at the bottom of the “Create Work Package” or “Edit Work Package” page.
The “Edit Part Effectivity Information” page appears.
The system displays the following in the “Work Package Details” group box:

The number identifying the work package for which the part effectivity details are to be specified. |

The textual description of the work package. |
Primary Work Center # |
The number identifying the work center where the work package has to be performed. |
Work Center Desc |
The textual description of the work center. |
Enter the following in the “Part Details” multiline:
Part # |
The number identifying the part on which the work package has to be performed (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. The part specified here must have been identified as “Component” in the “Create Parts Main Information” activity of the “Part Administration” business component and should be in the “Active” status. |

Note: In the event of modifying an already associated part number, the system displays an error message. Also, to delete an existing part detail check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline and click the "Delete" icon.
The system fills in the following field when you click the “Edit Part Effectivity” pushbutton:
Part Description |
The textual description of the part involved in the work package. |
Enter the following field:
Modified Part # Applicability |
Use the drop-down list box to indicate whether the work package is applicable to all the serial numbers of the part specified in the “Part #” field as well as for all the serial numbers of the parts whose base part number is the specified part. |
Note: Ensure that at least a part detail is entered in the multiline.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark the part for deletion.
Click the Delete icon in the tool bar above the multiline, to delete the parts selected in the multiline.
Click the “Edit Part Effectivity” pushbutton to add or modify the part effectivity details for the work package.
Note: The system updates the “Last Modified By” and “Last Modified Date” of the Work Package # with the login User and the current server date respectively.
Entering part effectivity details for work package – An overview
In this page, you can define the part effectivity, which indicates the applicability of the work package for the parts.
You can enter the parts on which the work package is to be performed, and the corresponding part details are displayed in the multiline. You can add more parts of the “Component” type or modify the details of the parts that have already been defined for the work package. You can also specify whether the work package is applicable to all the serial numbers of the part or for all the serial numbers of the part whose base part number is the specified part.
The system updates the details of the parts and stores the name of the currently logged in user and the server date.
