This page allows you to modify the details of an attribute that is already defined in the system. Tell me more
Select the “Edit Attributes” link under the “Attribute Definition” business component.
The “Edit Attributes” page appears.
The system displays the following field:
Date Format |
The format in which the date field is displayed. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the "Enterprise Modeling" business component by default. |
Enter the following field in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for the attribute to be modified:(Data entry in the following fields is optional.)
Attribute Code |
The code identifying the attribute (Alphanumeric, 10) |

You can enter the attribute code in full, or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the attribute codes which are similar to the code entered here. |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the attribute. The system lists the options: “Active” and “Inactive”. This field is set as “Active” by default. Leave this field blank to retrieve the attributes irrespective of their status. |
Attribute Description |
The textual description of the attribute (Alphanumeric, 80) |

You can enter the description in full, or specify it partially. The system retrieves all the attributes whose descriptions are similar to the description entered here. Zoom facility available |
Attribute Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the attribute. The system lists the options: “Qualitative” and “Quantitative”. The system retrieves the attributes of the type specified here. By default, this field is left blank. Leave this field blank to retrieve the attributes irrespective of their types. |
Note: If all the above fields are left blank, the system will list all the attributes that are created.
Click the “Search” pushbutton to display the search results.
The system displays the following fields in the “Search Results” multiline:

The code of attribute retrieved by the system based on the filter criteria specified. |
Enter the following fields:
Attribute Description |
The modified textual description for the attribute (Alphanumeric, 80)Mandatory. |
Attribute Type |
Use the drop-down list box to modify the type of the attribute. The system lists the options “Qualitative” and “Quantitative”. You can modify this attribute type only when the attribute code is not associated with any part or part group in the “Create Part Groups” activity of the “Part Administration” business component. |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to modify the status of the attribute. The system lists the options: “Active” and “Inactive”. |

You can change the status to “Inactive” only when the attribute code is not associated with any part or part group in the “Create Part Groups” activity of the “Part Administration” business component. |
UOM |
The modified unit of measurement for the part if the attribute type of the part is “Quantitative” (Alphanumeric, 10) |

Ensure that the UOM is already defined in the “Create UOM” activity of the “Unit of Measurement Administration” business component and is in the “Active” status. You can modify this field only when the attribute code is not associated with any part or part group in the “Create Part Groups” activity of the “Part Administration” business component. |

The name of the user who last modified the attribute |

Click the “Edit Attributes” pushbutton to update the modified details of the attributes.
