Define maintenance type capability details for the part or part groups

This page allows you to define the maintenance type effectivity details for the part or part groups that are associated to the work center. Tell me more.

Select the “Edit Maintenance Type Capability” link at the bottom of the “Edit Component Capability” page.

The “Edit Maintenance Type Capability” page appears.

The system displays the following fields in the “Work Center Details” group box::

Work Center #	The work center to which the component was associated.
Work Center Type	The type of the work center, which could be “Hangar”, “Bay”, "Shop", "Line" or “Others”.
Work Center Description	The textual description of the work center.

Enter the following field in the "Part Details" group box:

Part #/ Group

Use the drop-down list box to select the part or part group for which you wish to define the maintenance type effectivity details. The system lists all the parts or part groups associated to the work center.

Data Selection in this field is mandatory

Click the “Get Details” pushbutton to display the details of the selected part or part group.

The system displays the following field:

Description	The textual description of the part number or part group.
Component Effectivity Basis	The type of effectivity based on which the component capability is defined for the work center. This could be "Part No" or "Part Group".

On clicking the “Get Details” pushbutton, the system displays the details of the maintenance types that have already been defined the part or part group.

The system displays the following field in the "Component Capability Details" multiline:

Maintenance Type	The maintenance type that needs to be performed on the part or part group. The system lists all the maintenance types defined in the "Common Master" business component and the values "Engineering Document" and "Fleet Campaign Directive".
Enter the following field:
Capability	Use the drop-down list box to indicate whether the maintenance type is applicable for the part or part group. The system lists the options "Yes" and "No".

Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select the maintenance type for associating work units.
Click the “Edit Capability” pushbutton to update the maintenance type effectivity details for the part or part group associated to the work center.

To proceed, carry out the following:

Select the "Associate Work Units" link at the bottom of the page to associate work units to the maintenance type selected in the multiline.

Define maintenance type capability details for the part or part groups – An overview

This page allows you to define the maintenance type effectivity details for the part or part group associated to the work center. Maintenance type effectivity refers to the maintenance types that are applicable to be performed on the part or part group.

You can define the maintenance type effectivity for part number or part group. When you define the effectivity at the part group level, all the parts under the part group inherit the effectivity.

All the maintenance types defined in the "Common Master" business component are listed in the multiline. The values "Engineering Document" and "Fleet Campaign Directive" are also displayed in the multiline. You can specify whether the maintenance type is applicable for the part or part group by choosing appropriate option.
