This page allows you to associate facility objects  to facilities. Tell me more.

The “Associate Facility Objects” page appears.

The system displays the following fields in the “Work Center Details” group box::

Work Center #

The work center to which the facility was associated.

Work Center Description

The textual description of the work center.

Work Center Type

The type of the work center, which could be “Hangar”, “Bay”, "Shop", "Line" or “Others”.

Facility #

Use the drop-down list box to select the facility to which you wish to associate facility objects. The system lists all the facilities that are associated to the work center and are of the type specified in the “Facility Type” field.

The system displays the following fields in the “Facility Details” group box:

Facility Type

The type of the facility which could be “Equipment”, “Tools” or “Others”.

Facility Description

The textual description of the facility.

Facility Category

The category to which the facility belongs.

Capacity

The capacity of the facility in units.

Available Nos

The number of facility objects associated to the facility as specified in the “Associate Facilities” page.

Part #

The part number for the group of facility objects entered in the multiline, if the facility type is “Equipment” or “Others”  If the facility type is “Tools”, the part number will be the same as the facility number.

The system displays the “Mfr. Part #” and “Mfr. #” fields, and hides the “Part #” field above, if the parameter “Enable Manufacturer Part # control in transaction” under the Category ‘Manufacturer Part #’ is set as “Yes” in the “Set Inventory Process Parameters” activity of the “Logistics Common Master” business component. If the parameter is set as “No”, the system displays only the “Part #”.

Mfr. Part #

The number assigned to the part, by the manufacturer of the part.

Mfr. #

The code identifying the manufacturer of the part.

Part Description

The textual description of the part.

The system displays the following field:

Currency

The currency code as defined for the login organizational unit. This currency code is defined in the "Enterprise Set   Up" business component.

Note:On clicking the “Get Details” pushbutton, the system fills in the following multiline fields for facility objects that have already been associated to the facility. You can associate more facility objects to the facility by entering the following fields in the multiline:

Facility Object #

A unique identifier for the facility object (Alphanumeric, 40) Mandatory.

If interaction is not defined between the current business component and the “Facility Management” business component, ensure that the number entered here is unique for the work center and facility. This is applicable, if a new facility object number is to be created.

If interaction is defined between the current business component and the “Facility Management” business component, then the facility object code entered here must be active with the “Held By” field set to  “Work Center”, as defined in the “Facility Management” business component. In this instance, new facility object # cannot be created in the Wok Center component.

Note: Ensure that the facility object code is not repeated in the multiline.

If an existing facility object is associated to the work center the system ensures the following:

a. the specified facility object # is presently not held by any other work center in the “Facility Management” business component, if interaction is defined between the current business component and the “Facility Management” business component.

b. The specified facility object number is not associated to any other work center in “Active” status”, if integration is not defined between the current business component and the “Facility Management” business component.

Note: In the event of modifying the facility object number, if you enter a facility object number that is already associated to this facility, the system displays an error message .

Manufacturer Serial #

The serial number referred by the manufacturer for the facility object number (Alphanumeric, 40).

Model

The model number of the facility object number (Alphanumeric, 20).

Service Area

Use the drop-down list box to specify the area in which the facility object can serve. The system provides the options the following options

 
  • Current work center - if the facility object can serve only in the work center to which the facility is associated.

 
  • Child work center - if the facility object can serve in all the child work centers that belong to the hierarchy of the current work center, including the current work center.

 
  • All Work centers - if the facility object can serve in all the work centers associated to the login organizational unit.

  • Current Station Work Center – If the employee can serve in the current station-work center combination.

Note: The system displays “Current work center“ by default.

Rate / Hr

The hourly rate of the facility object number (Decimal). Ensure that the number entered is positive.

Note: You cannot modify the “Manufacture Serial #”, “Model” and “Rate / Hr” if integration is defined between the current business component and the “Facility Object” business component.

Note: The hourly rate defined for the facility object will be the same for all the work centers of the login organizational unit.

Status

Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the facility object. The system provides the options “Active” or “Inactive”. Set the status as “Inactive” if you wish to disassociate the facility object from the current work center. The system displays “Active” by default.

Associating facility objects to facilities – An overview

Associate Work Center Attributes - A summary of the activity

This activity allows you to define and associate facility objects to the selected facility. Facility objects are the identifiable units of a facility. For example, if lathe is a facility then the individual serial number of the lathe is a facility object.

Using this activity, you can also view the details of the facility objects that have already been associated to the facility. Details such as the facility object code, manufacturer serial number, facility object model, area in which the facility object can serve, productivity factor value and status are displayed. You can re-define the association between the facility and the facility object by adding new facility objects or deleting the facility objects that have already been associated.
