Entering certificate applicability details
This page allows you to enter the certificate applicability details for the work center. Tell me more.
Select the “Edit Certification Effectivity” link at the bottom of the “Edit Exe. Org. Unit Level Work Center Details” page.
The “Edit Work Center Certification Effectivity” page appears.
The system displays the following fields in the “Work Center Details” group box:
Work Center # |
The work center for which the certificate applicability details must be defined. |
Work Center Type |
The type of the work center, which could be “Hangar”, “Bay”, "Shop", "Line" or “Others”. |
Work Center Description |
The textual description of the work center. |
Enter the following field:
Component Effectivity Basis |
Use the drop-down list box to select the component effectivity. The system lists the options “Part No” and “Part Group”.

Enter the following field in the “Certification Effectivity Details” group box:
Certificate Details |
Use the drop-down list box to select the certificate for which the applicability details must be defined. The system lists ALL and the certificates associated to the work center. The search retrieves all the certificate records for the work center in the multiline, if you select ALL. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton, to retrieve the certification details.
The system displays the following fields:
Certificate # |
The unique identifier of the certificate of maintenance. |
Certificate Title |
The heading of the certificate. |
Certifying Authority |
Use the drop-down list box to select the regulatory authority certifying the maintenance. The drop-down list box displays all the certifying authorities defined in the “Maintain Certifying Authority” activity of the “Logistics Common Masters” business component. This field displays ALL, if no values are available in this drop-down list box. |
Certificate Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of CoM. The drop-down list box displays the certificate types defined in the “Create Certificate Type” activity of the “Logistics Common Masters” business component. This field displays ALL, if no values are available in this drop-down list box. |
Certificate Applicability |
Indicates whether the certificate is applicable for “Aircraft”, “Component” or "Aircraft & Component". |
Note: The ‘Certificate #’- ‘Certifying Authority’- ‘Certificate Type’ combination must be unique for a work center.
The system displays the certificate applicability details that are already entered for the work center in the multiline.
Enter the following fields in the multiline to add or modify the details:
Aircraft Model # |
The number identifying the aircraft model for which the certificate is applicable (Alphanumeric, 30). Data entry in this field is mandatory when the certificate applicability is “Aircraft”. Ensure that the aircraft model is already defined in the “Create Aircraft Model” activity of the “Aircraft” business component and is in “Active” status. This number must be unique in the multiline. The model must be unique for the Certificate # - Certificate Authority - Certificate Type combination. Help facility available |
Part # / Group |
The number identifying the part or part group for which the certificate is applicable. Data entry in this field is mandatory when the certificate applicability is “Component”. Ensure that the part or part group is already defined in the “Create Parts Main Information” or “Create Part Groups” activity of the “Part Administration” business component and is in “Active” status. The part # / group must be unique for the Certificate # - Certificate Authority - Certificate Type combination. Help facility available |
Note: Ensure that either the ”Aircraft Model #” or “Part # / Part Group” is entered, if the “Certificate Applicability” is “Aircraft & Component”.
Note: If the “Component Effectivity Basis” is set to “Part Group”, then ensure that the “Purpose” field is set to “Capability Definition” and the “Controlled?” field is to “Yes” for the specified part group, in the “Create Part Group” activity of the “Part Administration” business component.
Associated Part Applicability |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the work center certificate applicability for the part. The system lists the following options:
Ensure that this field is left blank, if the applicability of the certificate specified in the “Certificate Details” group box is “Aircraft”. The selected value must be unique for the Certificate # - Certificate Authority - Certificate Type combination. |
Maintenance Type Effectivity |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the maintenance type for the part number or part group for which the work center is capable. The system lists all the maintenance types defined in the "Common Master" business component along the values “All”, "Engineering Document" and "Fleet Campaign Directive". Ensure that this field is not left blank, if the applicability of the certificate specified in the “Certificate Details” group box is “Component”. If the “Maintenance Type Effectivity” field is set as “All” for the “Part # / Group”, ensure that no other maintenance type effectivity is selected for the same part # / part group in the multiline. The system sets this field to “All”, by default. The selected value must be unique for the Certificate # - Certificate Authority - Certificate Type combination. |
Note: Ensure that the “Part # / Group” and “Maintenance Type Effectivity” combination is not repeated in the multiline.
Ensure that the “Associated Part Applicability” and “Maintenance Type Effectivity” fields are left blank, if the certificate applicability is “Aircraft”.
Maintenance Operator # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the maintenance operator mapped to the aircraft. The drop-down list box displays the Active airline operators defined in Common Master. Note: The maintenance operator must be unique for the Certificate #, Certifying Authority and Certificate Type combination. |
The multiline displays the following:

The name of the airline operator mapped to the aircraft. |

Part Model |
The part model of the part # effective for the Certificate # - Certificate Authority - Certificate Type combination. Note: The part model must be unique for the Certificate # - Certificate Authority - Certificate Type combination. Help facility available |
Equipment Category |
Use the drop-down list box to select the equipment category. The drop-down list box will display the values as defined in the “Maintain Cabin Equipment List” page irrespective of the equipment group. Note: The equipment category must be unique for the Certificate #, Certifying Authority and Certificate Type combination. |
The system displays the following field:

The textual description of the aircraft model, part or part group. |

Remarks |
Any additional remarks pertaining to the certification effectivity. (Alphanumeric, 255) |
Enter the following field in the “Capability Updation Details” group box::
Capability List Updation |
Use the drop-down list box to indicate whether the capability list updation is required or not required.

Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark the record for deletion.
Click the Delete icon in the tool bar above the multiline, to delete the record selected in the multiline.
Click the “Edit Effectivity” pushbutton to record the execution organizational unit work center certificate details.
The system updates the certificate details against the certificate number and work center combination.
Entering certificate applicability details – An overview
This page allows you to enter the certificate applicability details for the work center.
You can select a certificate and specify the aircraft models, part numbers or part groups that are applicable for the certificate. The details can be entered at the aircraft level and component level. For a certificate whose applicability is “Aircraft”, the aircraft model number must be entered. For a certificate of applicability “Component”, the part number or part group number can be entered. This page allows you to enter the certificate applicability details only for controlled part groups.
You can also specify whether the aircraft or component capability list must be updated on addition of new aircraft models, part numbers or part groups in this page.
