Work Center #

A unique number that identifies the work center (Alphanumeric, 30) Mandatory. This can be a combination of characters and digits. Ensure that the number is unique for the organizational unit.

Work Center Description

The textual description of the work center (Alphanumeric, 150) Mandatory.

Work Center Category

Use the drop down list box to select the category of the work center. The system lists all the quick codes that were defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity, of type “Work Center” and of status “Active”. Leave the field blank if you do not wish to specify the work center category. The system leaves this field blank by default.

Work Center Class

Use the drop-down list box to specify whether the work center is set as execution work center or reference work center. The system lists the following values:

  • Execution – Select this option to specify that the work center is set as an execution work center to which the components must be routed automatically for maintenance activity.

  • Reference – Select this option to specify that the work center may be a virtual work center set as reference for the execution work center.

The system displays “Execution”, by default.

Work Center Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the work center, from one of the following options:

  • “Hangar” – If the maintenance activity is to be performed in the hangar.

  • “Bay” – If the maintenance activity is to be performed in the bay of the hangar.

  • “Shop” – If the maintenance activity is to be performed in the shop floor.

  • “Line” – If the maintenance activity is to be performed in the line station.

  • “Others” – If the maintenance activity is to be performed in locations other than hangar, bay, shop floor and line station.

Note: The work center of type “Others” will not be considered for maintenance planning in “LIN” and “PLN” modules.

Associate Current Exe. Org

Unit

Use the drop-down list box to select either “Yes” or “No” to associate the work center to the execution organizational unit to which you have logged in. The system displays “Yes” by default.

Note: If you have set the field to “Yes” then the system associates the work center as a parent work center to the hierarchy of the execution organizational unit at the level “0”.

Note: The system creates work centers and sets the status of the created work center as “Active” and the creation date to the current server date.
