Editing access panel task information
This page allow you to modify the details of the selected access panel task in this page. Tell me more
Select the “Edit Access Panel Task Details” link in the “Select Access Panel Task” page. Alternatively, select the hyperlinked access panel task number in the multiline of the same page.
The “Edit Access Panel Task Information” page appears.
The system displays the following field:
Date Format |
The format in which the date fields appears in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user id. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
The system displays the following field in the “Access Panel Task Details” group box:
Access Panel Task # |
The selected access panel task number for which the details are to be modified. |
Base Aircraft Model # |
The number identifying the base aircraft model on which the access panel task can be performed |
Enter the followings:
AP Task Type |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the type of the access panel task, which could be “Open” or “Close”. |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to modify the status of the access panel task which could be “Active” or “Inactive”. Set the status as “Inactive” if you wish to disable the access panel task from future reference in other activities. |
AP Task Description |
The textual description of the access panel task (Alphanumeric, 150). Mandatory. Zoom facility available |
Note: You cannot modify “AP Task Type” field if you have assigned the access panel task to any access panel.
System Reference # |
The system reference number of the task (Alphanumeric, 30). |
AMM / CMM Item # |
The Aircraft Maintenance Manual or the Component Maintenance Manual item number given for the task in the respective manuals (Alphanumeric, 40). |
DSC # |
The dependent system condition to which the access panel task must be associated (Alphanumeric, 15). The DSC specified in this field should be in “Active” status. The DSC contains a list of all the dependent systems and their desired condition to be checked for, before executing the task. |

Est Elapsed Time |
The total time estimated for completing the access panel task (Decimal). Mandatory. The estimated duration should be a positive number. Use the drop-down list box provided alongside, to specify the unit of measurement for the time allotted for the task. The system displays the options “Hours”, “Minutes” and “Days”. |
Est. Man Hrs. |
The total man-hours estimated to complete the access panel task (Decimal). Mandatory. If the resource details are modified in the “Resource Information” page, the system sets the field to the estimated man-hours or the sum total of the estimated duration entered for ‘skill’ type resources, whichever is greater. |
Enter the following fields in the “Sub-Task Details” multiline:
Seq # |
The sequence in which the subtask should be performed, while executing an access panel task (Integer). Ensure that the sequence number is a positive integer and is unique in the multiline. |
If you have left the sequence number blank, the system automatically assigns a sequence number to each of them, in the order in which they are entered in the multiline, on clicking the “Edit Access Panel Task” pushbutton. Ensure that you do not leave it blank for any of the sub tasks occurring in between. For any random entry of sequence numbers, the system assigns continuous sequence numbers starting from "1". | |
Sub Tasks |
The sub task that has to be performed while executing the access panel task (Alphanumeric, 255). |
Resource Group |
Use the drop-down list box to specify whether the sub task is to be performed by an “Inspector”, “Mechanic” or “Both”. |
Note: If this field is left blank then the system assumes that anybody can carry out the sub task.
Document ID |
The name of the reference document which contain the description, drawing or any other detail about the sub task (Alphanumeric, 40). |
File Name |
The file name of the document (Alphanumeric, 30). |
AMM / CMM Item # |
The Aircraft Maintenance Manual or the Component Maintenance Manual item number of the sub-task (Alphanumeric, 40). |
DSC # |
The dependent system condition to which the sub-task must be associated (Alphanumeric, 15). Ensure that the DSC number entered in this field is unique and is in “Active” status. |
The system displays the following field:

Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark the sub task for deletion.
Click the Delete icon in the tool bar above the multiline, to delete the sub tasks selected in the multiline.
If you wish to insert sub tasks in the multiline and assign sequence numbers for them, click the “Re-Number” pushbutton to rearrange the existing rows in the ascending order of the sequence number. The system regenerates the sequence number in multiples of five, thereby enabling you to specify the sequence number for the newly added sub task.
Click the “Edit Access Panel Task” pushbutton to modify the details of the access panel task.
If a sub task is deleted from the multiline, the system ensures that the associated resource sign-off details and parameter details are deleted for the corresponding sub task.
If a sub task is added, the system updates the sub task details against the access panel task number.
Note: If the “Sign-Off?” field is set to “Yes” for the corresponding task and resource number combination in the “Edit Resource Requirements” page, the system updates the sub tasks added against the access panel task in the “Sub-Task Sign-Off Information” multiline of the same page.

To proceed, carry out the following
Select the “Edit Parts Requirement” link at the bottom of the page to modify the parts required for completing the access panel task.
Select the “Edit Resource / Sign-Off Requirements” link at the bottom of the page to modify the resource required for completing the access panel task.
Select the “Edit Aircraft Model Effectivity” link at the bottom of the page to enter aircraft model effectivity details for the access panel task.
Select the “Associate Access Panels” link at the bottom of the page to associate access panels to access panel task.
Editing access panel task information – An overview
You can modify the details of the selected access panel task in this page. Details such as the access panel task description, status, type, DSC number, estimated duration, estimated man-hours and the subtask details can be modified. The system updates the details of the access panel task and sets the last modified date to the current server date.
Generate sequence number for subtasks belonging to the AP task
You can modify the type of the access panel task, if the access panel task is not associated to access panel.
Set the “AP Task Type” field to “Open” to indicate that the access panel task is of type “Open”.
Set the “AP Task Type” field to “Close” to indicate that the access panel task is of type “Close”.
Generate sequence number for subtasks belonging to the AP task
You have the option of entering the sequence number or generating the sequence number automatically for the various subtasks in the multiline.
To enter the sequence number manually, enter the “Seq #” field in the “Sub-Task Details” multiline.
To generate the sequence number automatically, leave the “Seq #” field blank in all the rows in the multiline.
The system automatically assigns a sequence number to each of them, in the order in which they are entered in the multiline, on clicking the “Edit Access Panel Task” button.
If you wish to insert sub tasks in the multiline and assign sequence number for them, click the “Re - Number” pushbutton to rearrange the existing rows in the ascending order of the sequence number.
