Base Aircraft Model# |
The number identifying the base aircraft model on which standard procedure can be performed (Alphanumeric,30).Ensure that the aircraft model is already defined in the "Aircraft" business component and is in the "Active" status. Help facility Available. |
Click one or all of the following boxes in the “Copy Options” field to specify the details of the access panel task to be copied:
All |
Check this box to copy all the sub tasks, part number details and resource number details. |
Sub Task |
Check this box to copy only sub tasks details. |
Note: You can enter more guidelines to this access panel task in the multiline.
Part Details |
Check this box to copy only part details. |
Resource Details |
Check this box to copy only resource details. |
Enter the following fields in the ”Sub-Task Details” multiline:
Seq # |
The sequence in which the subtask should be performed, while executing an access panel task (Integer). Ensure that the sequence number is a positive integer and is unique in the multiline. |
If you have left the sequence number blank, the system automatically assigns a sequence number to each of them, in the order in which they are entered in the multiline, on clicking the “Create AP Task” pushbutton. Ensure that you do not leave it blank for any of the sub tasks occurring in between. For any random entry of sequence numbers, the system assigns continuous sequence numbers starting from “1”. | |
Sub Tasks |
The sub task that has to be performed while executing the access panel task (Alphanumeric, 255). |
Resource Group |
Use the drop-down list box to specify whether the sub task is to be performed by an “Inspector”, “Mechanic” or “Insp and Mech”. |
Note: If this field is left blank then the system assumes that anybody can carry out the sub task.
Document ID |
The name of the reference document, which contains the description, drawing or any other detail about the sub task (Alphanumeric, 40). |
File Name |
The name of the file that contains the document details (Alphanumeric, 30). |
AMM / CMM Item # |
The Aircraft Maintenance Manual or the Component Maintenance Manual item number of the sub-task (Alphanumeric, 40). |
DSC # |
The dependent system condition to which the sub-task must be associated (Alphanumeric, 15). Ensure that the DSC number entered in this field is unique and is in “Active” status. Help facility available. |
The system displays the following field in the multiline:
DSC Description |
The textual description of the dependent system condition. |
The subtasks specified in the multiline are stored in addition to the subtasks that are copied from an access panel task that is already defined.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark the sub task for deletion.
Click the Delete icon in the tool bar above the multiline, to delete the sub tasks selected in the multiline.
If you wish to insert subtask in the multiline and assign sequence number for them, click the “Re - Number.” pushbutton to rearrange the existing rows in the ascending order of the sequence number. The system regenerates the sequence number in multiples of five, thereby enabling you to specify the sequence number for the newly added subtasks. Refer Figure 1 for an example.
Click the “Create AP Task” pushbutton to create the access panel task along with the subtask.
Note: The system creates the access panel task number and sets the status of the created access panel task as "Active". Also, the system generates the sequence numbers for those rows for which the sequence number has not been specified.

Creating access panel task – An overview
You can create an access panel task in this page. You can enter a unique number for the access panel task and provide a description for it. You can associate a DSC number to check for the desired condition of the various dependent systems before executing a maintenance task. You can also provide reference to an access panel task that is already defined and copy the operating guidelines, spare part details and the resource details to the access panel task being defined.
You can define multiple sub tasks for the access panel task and specify the sequence in which they have to be carried out while executing the access panel task.
The system assigns the “Active” status as soon as the access panel task number is created and sets the creation date and time to the server date and time.
Copy details from an existing AP task
Generate sequence number for sub-tasks belonging to the AP task
Access panel tasks can be of two types, namely, open access panel tasks and close access panel tasks. Open access panel tasks are performed to open the required access panels for execution of the maintenance activity. A close access panel task is performed after the maintenance activity has been carried out.
Set the “AP Task Type” field to “Open” to indicate that the access panel task is of type “Open”.
Set the “AP Task Type” field to “Close” to indicate that the access panel task is of type “Close”.
Copy details from an existing AP task
You can copy details from access panel tasks that are already defined. Details such as the sub tasks, spare parts and resources can be copied.
Enter the number of the access panel task from which details must be copied, in the “Copy From” group box.
Check one of the boxes “All”, “Sub Task”, “Parts Details”, “Resource Details” to specify the details to be copied.
Click “Create AP Task” pushbutton to copy the details.
A new AP task is created with the copied details.
Generate sequence number for subtasks belonging to the AP task
You have the option of entering the sequence number or generating the sequence number automatically for the various subtasks in the multiline.
To enter the sequence number manually, enter the “Seq #” field in the “Sub-Task Details” multiline.
To generate the sequence number automatically, leave the “Seq #” field blank in all the rows in the multiline.
The system automatically assigns a sequence number to each of them, in the order in which they are entered in the multiline, on clicking the “Create AP Task” button.
If you wish to insert sub tasks in the multiline and assign sequence number for them, click the “Re - Number” pushbutton to rearrange the existing rows in the ascending order of the sequence number. The system regenerates the sequence number in multiples of five, thereby enabling you to specify the sequence number for the newly added sub tasks.
