AP. Task Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the access panel task, which could be “Open” or “Close”. The system retrieves all the access panel tasks that are of the type specified here. Leave this field blank if you wish to retrieve details of the access panel tasks irrespective of their type. The system leaves the field blank by default.

The system performs the following:

Calculating the part estimates

Note: For calculating the averages, the system converts all the parts to their respective unit of measurement and rounds off the new estimated quantity to the nearest integer, if the “Fraction Not Allowed” option is selected in the “Create UOM” activity of the “Unit of Measurement Administration” business component. The system considers the parts, only when the estimated quantity is greater than zero.

Calculating the resource estimates

Note: For calculating the averages, the system converts the resource estimated time to hours. The system considers the resource, only if the estimated time consumed is greater than zero in “Hangar Work Reporting/Component Work Reporting/Flight Log” business component.

Calculating the elapsed time estimates

When “Delete Unused Parts / Resources” box is checked

The part or resource details are permanently deleted for the AP task or task, only on clicking the “Edit Estimates” pushbutton.

When the “Add New Parts / Resource” box is checked

The part or resource details are updated permanently for the AP task or task, only on clicking the “Edit Estimates” pushbutton.

The system retrieves the task details in the multiline, on clicking the “Display Task #” pushbutton:

Line #

The line number pertaining to the task

Base Aircraft Model #

The base aircraft model number to which the task is associated

Task Applicability

The applicability of the task, which could be “Aircraft”, “Engine” or “Component”

Task #

The number identifying the access panel task or task.

Revision #

The revision number for the task.

Task Description

The textual description of the access panel task or task.

Note: Ensure that at least one record is selected in the multiline.

The system performs the following for all the AP tasks or tasks displayed in the multiline:

Note: For parts and resources, the system updates the details only when the “Update based on actuals” box is checked in the “Spare Parts Information” and the “Resource Information” pages of the “Create Access panel Task” activity.

Revise estimates – An overview

Revise Estimates - A summary of the activity

This page allows you to specify whether you wish to revise the estimated values for the parts, resource or the elapsed time, and also specify whether the estimates must be revised for the task or access panel task.

You can select the method in which the estimated values must be calculated. If the “Simple Average” method is selected, then the system considers all the occurrences of the task or the access panel task in the “Hangar Work Reporting”, “Component Work Reporting” and “Flight Log” business components, for calculating the revised value. If the “Moving Average” is selected, you must enter the number of recent occurrences of the access panel task or task that must be considered for calculating the revised value.

You are also provided with the option of deleting parts or resources that are not used during the execution of the task or access panel task. You can add new spare parts or resources that are used for executing the access panel task or task.

You can search for the task or access panel task for which the estimated values have to be calculated. For access panel tasks, you can carry out the search based on the access panel task number or its type. For tasks, you can carry out a search based on the task number, revision number, task category, type or task applicability.

The system calculates the estimated values and stores the values temporarily for the task or access panel task. You can update the estimated values permanently for the tasks or the AP tasks in bulk, or select a particular task or AP task to be updated. On updating, the estimated values are updated, depending upon the work unit type selected.

You can also select a particular task and modify the calculated estimated quantity for the part in the “Revise Part Estimates” page. The “Revised Resource Estimates” page allows you to modify the calculated estimated time for the resource. The calculated estimated elapsed time details can be modified in the “Revise Elapsed Time Estimates” page.

Specify the method for calculating the estimated values

There are two methods in which you can calculate the estimated values of the parts, resources or the elapsed time.

Under the “Simple Average” method, the system calculates the estimated values for all the occurrences of the AP task or task in the “Hangar Work Reporting”, “Component Work Reporting” and “Flight Log” business components.

Under the “Moving Average” method, the system calculates the average estimated values for the recent occurrences specified in the “No. of Occurrences” field for the AP task or task in the “Hangar Work Reporting” , “Component Work Reporting” and “Flight Log” business components.

Delete unused parts or resources

You can delete the parts or resources that were not used during the execution of the access panel task or the task.

The unused parts and resources are determined based on the estimation method selected. The system then sets the new estimated quantity of the unused parts and the new estimated time of the unused resources to zero, and the part and the resource details are permanently deleted for the AP task or task.

Add new parts or resources

You can add the parts or the resource that are newly used for executing the AP task or the task.

The new parts and resources are determined based on the estimation method selected. The system then adds the new parts and the estimated quantity, along with the new resources and the estimated time, to the AP task or task.
