This page allows you to search and select an ESR for which you want to view the status. Tell me more.

The “Select Engg. Service Request” page appears.

Exec. Doc. #

Use the drop-down list box to specify the type of the execution document with reference to which the Engineering Service Request has been created, for which the details are to be retrieved. The system lists the following options:

  • A/C Maint. Exe. Ref - Select this option to retrieve the Engineering Service Request which has been created with reference to the Aircraft Maintenance Execution Reference document.

  • Hangar Work Order - Select this option to retrieve the Engineering Service Request, which has been created with reference to the Hangar Work Order.

  • Component Work Order - Select this option to retrieve the Engineering Service Request, which has been created with reference to the Component Work Order.

By default the system displays blank.

 

In the editable field (Alphanumeric, 40) provided alongside, enter the execution document number corresponding to the type of the execution document selected for which you want to retrieve details in the multiline.  You can enter the execution document number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the ESRs having the number corresponding to the type of execution document specified.

Engg Service Req #

The number identifying the ESR for which you want to view the details. (Alphanumeric, 18). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the ESR numbers that are similar to the value entered here.

Applicability

Use the drop-down list box to select the applicability of the ESR. The system lists “Aircraft”, “Component” and “Engine”. Leave this field blank to retrieve ESRs irrespective of the applicability. The system leaves this field blank by default.

ATA #

The ATA chapter for which the ESR is raised (Alphanumeric, 16).  You can enter the part number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the ESRs that have been raised for ATA numbers that are similar to the value entered here.

Aircraft Reg #

A registration number of the aircraft, for which the ESR is raised (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the registration number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the ESRs that have aircraft registration numbers similar to the value entered here.

Part # / Serial #

The part number of the component for which the ESR is raised (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the part number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the ESRs associated to the part number specified here.

 

In the box provided alongside, enter the serial number of the aircraft or the component for which the ESR is raised (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the serial number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the ESRs associated to the serial number entered here.

Discrepancy #

The discrepancy number which, has initiated the ESR (Alphanumeric, 18). You can enter the discrepancy number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the ESRs associated to the discrepancy number entered here.

Work Center #

Use the drop down list box to select the work center where the maintenance work is carried out. The system lists all the “Active” work centers defined in the “Create Work Center” activity of the “Work Center” business component. The system leaves the field blank by default.

Request Status

Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the ESR to be viewed. The system provides the options “Confirmed”, “Pre-closed”, “Closed” and “Response Declined”. Leave this field blank to retrieve ESRs irrespective of their status. The system leaves this field blank by default.

User Status

Use the drop-down list box to select the user status of the ESR. The system lists all the quick codes of type “User Status” defined in the “Engineering Service Request” business component. The system leaves this field blank by default.

Requestor

The user ID of the requestor, who has raised the ESR (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the ID in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the ESRs raised by the user ID, similar to the value entered here.

Request Category

The request category of the ESR.

Note: Leave the fields blank if you want to retrieve all the ESRs available in the login organization unit.

The system displays the following in the “Search Results” multiline based on the search criteria entered and the settings you have defined in the “Workflow Management” business component:

Engg Service Req #

The number identifying the ESR.

Request Status

The status of the ESR, which could be one of the following:

  • Confirmed - indicates that the ESR has been confirmed. A confirmed request is forwarded to the appropriate engineering cell for processing.

  • Pre-closed - indicates that the engineering department has terminated the ESR without releasing an EAN. This may be due to reasons such as the engineering department not in a position to clarify the request or when there has been an official communication released earlier, based on which the need for the request is irrelevant.

  • Closed - indicates that the engineering department has initiated some action on the request, either by creating an Engineering Advice note, or by providing reference to an existing Engineering Advice Note.

  • Response Declined - indicates that the user who has raised the ESR has declined the EAN received as the response. Appropriate reasons for the decline are given as declining comments.

Request Category

The request category of the ESR.

Engg Advice Note #

The number identifying the engineering advice note released for the ESR.

Revision #

The number identifying the revision of the EAN if any.

Pre-Closing Comments

Any comments or remarks regarding pre-closure of the ESR. This field is applicable when the engineering department has pre-closed or terminated the ESR.

Declining Comments

A brief comment on the reason for declining the EAN (Alphanumeric, 255). Ensure that this field is not left blank if the engineering advice note is selected for declining.

The system displays the following in the “Search Results” multiline:

Aircraft Reg #

The aircraft registration number for which the ESR was raised.

Part #

The part number of component for which the ESR was raised.

Serial #

The serial number of the aircraft or the component for which the ESR was raised.

Subject

The subject of the request.

Work Center #

The work center where the maintenance work is being carried out.

Declining the EAN

Note: This action is workflow-enabled. Notification messages can be sent as per the settings you have defined in the "Workflow Management" business component.

At least one row must be selected in the multiline. The ESRs marked for selection must be in the “Closed” or “Pre-closed” status

The status of the ESR is updated from “Closed” or “Pre-Closed” to “Response Declined”.

Selecting Engineering Service Request for viewing – An overview

Inquiring Engineering Request status - An Overview

This page allows you to search and select an ESR for which you want to view thedetails. You can search using the engineering service request number, the requestor number, the request status, the user status, the applicability, the, the part number and the serial number of the component, the aircraft registration number, the work order number which initiated the request, the maintenance report number and the discrepancy number. The system will retrieve all the ESRs matching the search criteria entered.

This page also allows you to decline an engineering advice note after entering appropriate comments. An EAN can be declined if it does not provide the required clarification. The status of the ESR after the decline of the EAN will be updated to “Response Declined”.

Decline EAN

To decline an EAN, the associated ESR should be in “Closed” or “Pre-Closed” status. The status of the ESR is updated from “Closed” or “Pre-Closed” to “Response Declined”.

Note: To decline EAN, the user need to have access privilege for the work center from which the ESR was raised.
