Selecting Engineering Service request for modification
This page allows you to select an engineering service request (ESR) for modification. Tell me more.
Select the “Edit Engineering Service Request” link under the “Engineering Service Request” business component.
The “Select Engg Service Request” page appears.
Enter the following field in the “Direct Entry” group box, if you are aware of the ESR number for which you wish to modify the details

The number identifying the ESR to be modified (Alphanumeric, 18). |
Select the “Edit ES Request Details” link provided alongside to modify the request details.
To search for the ESR
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for the ESR number. Data entry in the following fields is optional.
Exec. Doc. # |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the type of the execution document with reference to which the Engineering Service Request has been created, for which the details are to be retrieved. The system lists the following options:

In the editable field (Alphanumeric, 40) provided alongside, enter the execution document number corresponding to the type of the execution document selected for which you want to retrieve details in the multiline. You can enter the execution document number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the ESRs having the number corresponding to the type of execution document specified. |
Engg Service Req # |
The number identifying the ESR to be modified (Alphanumeric, 18). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the ESR numbers that are similar to the value entered here. |
Aircraft Reg # |
The registration number of the aircraft, for which the ESR to be modified, is raised (Alphanumeric, 18). You can enter the registration number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the ESRs that have aircraft registration numbers similar to the value entered here. |
Part # / Serial # |
The part number for which the ESR to be modified, is raised (Alphanumeric, 18). You can enter the part number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the ESRs that have part numbers similar to the value entered here. |

In the box provided alongside, enter the serial number of the component for which the ESR to be modified, is raised (Alphanumeric, 18). You can enter the serial number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the ESRs that have serial numbers similar to the value entered here. |
ATA # |
The ATA chapter number for which the ESR is raised (Alphanumeric, 16). You can enter the ATA number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the engineering service requests that have been raised for ATA numbers that are similar to the value entered here. |
User Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the user status for the ESR. The system lists all the user statuses as created in the “Create Quick Code” activity under the “User Status” category. |
Work Center # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the number identifying the work center. The system lists all the work centers created in the login organization unit, in the “Create Work Center” activity of the “Work Center” business component, and that are in “Active” status And for which the user has got rights to access. |
Requestor |
The user ID of the person, who has raised the ESR to be modified (Alphanumeric, 20). You can enter the ID in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the ESRs that have user IDs similar to the value entered here. |
Request Category |
Use the drop-down list box to select the request category. The system lists all the request categories defined in the “Create Quick Code” activity that are in “Active” status. By default the system leaves the field blank. |
Note: Leave all the fields blank if you want to retrieve all the ESRs available in the login organization unit.
Click the “Search” pushbutton to retrieve the details of the ESRs matching the search criteria.
Note: The system retrieves only those ESR records that are in “Fresh” status.
The system displays the following in the “Search Results” multiline based on the search criteria entered:

The number identifying the work center in which the maintenance activity is done. |
Requestor |
The user ID of the person who has raised the ESR. |
Request Status |
The status of the ES request. The system displays “Fresh”. |
Request Category |
The category of the ES request. |
Subject |
The subject of the ES request. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark ES Requests for confirmation or cancellation
Click the hyperlinked Engg Service Request number in the multiline, to modify the ESR details.
Confirming an ES request
Click the “Confirm ES Request” pushbutton to confirm the ESR(s) selected in the multiline.
Note: This action is workflow-enabled. Notification messages can be sent and you can configure further processing of this document in the "Workflow Management" business component.
The user ID and the server date are updated along with the confirmation details.
The status of the ESR is updated to “Confirmed”.
The system appropriately updates the engineering service request number to the work order number, discrepancy number or the maintenance report number in the respective business components.
Cancelling an ES request
Click the “Cancel Request” pushbutton to cancel the ESR(s) selected in the multiline.
The status of the ESR is updated to “Cancelled”.
Click the hyperlinked ESRnumber in the multiline, to modify the ESR details. Select the “Upload Documents” link at the bottom of the page to upload documents.

Selecting ES request for modification – An overview
This page allows you to select an engineering service request (ESR) for modification. You can carry out a search using the engineering service request number, the requestor number, the aircraft registration number, the user status, the ATA chapter to which the ESRs belongs, the work center number, the part number and the serial number the component, the work order number which initiated the request and the discrepancy number. The system will retrieve all the ESRs in the “Fresh” status matching the search criteria entered.
This page also allows you to select ESRs in the multiline and confirm them. Upon confirmation, the status of the “Fresh” ESRs is updated to “Confirmed”. The system stores the login user ID and the server date along with the confirmation details.
You can also select ESRs in the multiline and cancel them. Upon cancellation, the status of the “Fresh” ESR is updated to “Cancelled”.
