Basics of using a typical web page

Using Online Help

This page allows you to select a position code for which the configuration rules must be defined. Tell me more

The “Edit Position Attributes” page appears.

The system displays the following fields in the “Aircraft Details” group box:

Aircraft Reg #

The aircraft registration number selected in the main page.

Config. Status

The status of the aircraft configuration which could be “Fresh” or “Active”.

Aircraft Model #

The model to which the aircraft is associated.

Configuration Class

The configuration class to which the aircraft model is associated.

Revision #

The revision number of the aircraft configuration.

The system displays the aircraft configuration details in the form of a tree structure with ‘Aircraft Reg #’ as a parent level node. On expanding the node, the details such as "Position Code", "Part #", "Part Description", "Part Serial #" and "Component ID" are displayed. If a component exists for a position code, and if a Piece Part is defined for that position code level in the configuration, the system displays the first level position code along with a folder for Piece Part #. The tree display format is as shown below:

- Aircraft Reg # || Model #

    - Position Code II Part # II Part Description II Serial # II Component #

           - Position Code II Part # II Part Description II Serial # II Component #

           - Piece Parts

Part # II Part Description II Quantity

    - Piece Parts

Part # II Part Description II Quantity

Note: In the tree structure above, the system displays “Mfr. Part # - Mfr. #” combination, if the parameter “Enable Manufacturer Part # control in transaction” under the Category ‘Manufacturer Part #’ is set as “Yes” in the “Set Inventory Process Parameters” activity of the “Logistics Common Master” business component. If the parameter is set as “No”, the system displays “Part #”.

Color Identifiers for Position Codes:

Color Identifiers for Piece Parts:

On selection of a node in the tree structure, the system automatically retrieves the corresponding aircraft position details in the “Display Filter” group box and the “Configuration Details” multiline.

Position Code

The position code for which the configuration rules must be defined (Alphanumeric, 25). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the position codes, which are similar to the values entered here.

Position Part #

The part number for which the position code details are to be retrieved (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the position codes to which this part is associated.

NHA Part # / Serial #

The NHA part # (otherwise, called the next higher assembly) of parts for which you want to retrieve positions codes in the first input box (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves position codes of parts with NHA part # similar to that you specify here.

The NHA serial # of parts for which you want to retrieve positions in the second input box (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves position codes of parts with both NHA part # and NHA serial # similar to that you specify here.

ATA #

The ATA chapter for which the position code details are to be retrieved (Alphanumeric, 16). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the position codes that are associated to the ATA chapter.

Display Level

Use the drop-down list box to select the level for which the position code details are to be retrieved. The system retrieves all the position codes defined at this level.

For example, if you specify ‘3’ as the level, the system retrieves details of all the position codes in the level ‘3’ of the aircraft configuration. To retrieve all position codes in the aircraft regardless of the level, specify;’0’ as the level.

Level Code

The level code corresponding to the position code (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the level code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the position codes that are applicable to the level code entered here.

Note: The system retrieves the details of the position codes and the parts associated to each of these position codes and all other details associated to it.

If the “Level Code” alone is entered, the system retrieves the details of the corresponding position code from the tree structure along with the part details in the “Configuration Details” multiline.

The system fills in the following fields in the “Configuration Details” multiline, based on the filter criteria entered:

Position Code

The position code retrieved by the system.

Attachment Status

Indicates the attachment status of the position code. The system displays one of the following:

  • “Attached” – Indicates that a component is attached to the position code.

  • “Removed” – Indicates that no component is attached to the position code.

  • “Unknown” – Indicates that the serial number of the component attached to the position code is unknown.

  • “New” – Indicates that the position code is newly created.

  • “Error” – Indicates that the component attached to the position code, is different from the actual intended component.

The system displays “None” if no component is attached to the position code. This is applicable only during initial configuration of the aircraft.

Position Part #

The part # defined for the position in the aircraft configuration.

Part Description

The textual description of the part.

Attached Part #

The part # of the component currently attached to the position code.

Serial #

The serial number of the component currently attached to the position code.

Component #

The component ID of the part as defined in the “Aircraft Readiness Log” page.

NHA Part #

The part # of the next higher assembly or parent of the component currently attached to the position code.

NHA Serial #

The serial # of the next higher assembly or parent of the component currently attached to the position code.

Cargo

Use the drop-down list box and set the field to “Yes” to indicate that the position code is in the cargo aircraft. The system provides the options “Yes” and “No”.

RVSM

Use the drop-down list box and set the field to “Yes” to indicate that the position code is in the aircraft, which fly in the reduced vertical separation minimum limit. The system provides the options “Yes” and “No”.

Zone #

The zone associated to the position code (Alphanumeric, 10).  The zone number should have already been defined in the “Create Zone” activity of the “Aircraft” business component and should be in “Active” status.

Help facility available.

Position Formula #

The formula associated to the position code (Alphanumeric, 15). The position formula number should have been defined in the “Formula Builder” business component and should be in “Active” status.

Help facility available.

ATA #

The ATA chapter associated to the position code (Alphanumeric, 18).

Remarks

Any remarks regarding the configuration. When a remark is entered, then the position code is mandatory.

Note : The system generates a unique id for each record against the remarks. The remarks added are displayed in the “View Notes Information” page.

Edit position attributes for aircraft configuration – An overview

Build Aircraft Configuration - A summary of the activity

This page allows you to select a position code for which the configuration rules must be defined. Configuration rules govern the interchanging and intermixing of parts and the list of ETOP twin position codes. These configuration rules can be defined in the “Edit Part Intermixing Rules”, “Edit Part Interchangeability Rules” and the “Edit ETOP Twin Positions ” pages for the position code selected in this page.

You can carry out a search based on the position code, part number, the parent part number, ATA chapter to which the position code is associated, or the level code. Details such as the level code, position code, the part fitted in the position code, part description, parent part number, component ID and serial number are displayed.
