Defining position based parts interchangeability rule for aircraft configuration
This page allows you to define position based parts interchangeability rule for aircraft configuration. Tell me more
Select the “Edit Part Interchangeability Rules” link at the bottom of the “Edit Position Attributes” page.
The “Edit Part Interchangeability Rules” page appears.
The system displays the following fields in the “Aircraft Configuration Details” group box:
Aircraft Reg # |
The aircraft for which the part interchangeability rule details must be defined. |
Aircraft Model # |
The model to which the aircraft is associated. |
Revision # |
The revision number of the aircraft configuration. |
Configuration Class |
The configuration class to which the aircraft model is associated. |
Level Code |
The level number of the reference position code and its associated part number. |
Reference Part # |
The part associated to the position code, for which the list of interchangeable parts must be defined. |
Ref. Position Code |
The position code selected in the main screen, for which the list of interchangeable parts must be defined. |
Note: The system lists the interchangeable part numbers that are already defined for the reference position code and reference part number, in the multiline.
Enter the following field in the “Interchangeability Rules” multiline:
Interchangeable Part # |
The part that can be fitted in place of the reference part number, in the reference position code (Alphanumeric, 40). The part number must have already been defined as “Component” type in the "Create Parts Main Information" activity of the “Part Administration“ business component and should be in “Active” status. Data entry in this field is mandatory if the “Mod Status #” field is entered. Ensure that this part is applicable for aircraft configuration. Help facility available. |
Note: The part number should be unique within the multiline.
The system displays the following field:
Part description |
The textual description of the interchangeable part. |
Enter the following field:
Order of Preference |
The preferred order in which the interchangeable part must be considered for fitting in the reference position code (Integer). Mandatory. |
Note: Ensure that the number is unique in the multiline.
Mod Status # |
The modified part number (dash number). You can also enter the engineering order reference number due to which the part has been changed (Alphanumeric, 15). |
Note: Ensure that atleast one interchangeable part number is entered in the multiline.
Remarks |
Any remarks regarding the configuration. When a remark is entered, then the position code is mandatory. |
Note: The system generates a unique id for each record against the remarks. The remarks added are displayed in the “View Notes Information” page.
Check the box in the multiline if you wish to mark the interchangeable part for deletion.
Click the Delete icon in the tool bar above the multiline, to delete the interchangeable parts selected in the multiline.
Click the “Edit Part Interchangeability Rules” pushbutton to update the interchangeability rule details.
To proceed carry out the following:
Select the “View Alternate Part No” link at the bottom of the page to view the alternate part details.
Defining position based parts interchangeability rule for aircraft configuration – An overview
The parts interchangeability rule defines the list of alternate part numbers that can be placed in the reference position code, in place of the reference part number, if the reference part number is not available.
The system displays the reference position code and the reference part selected in the main screen. You can enter the interchangeable part numbers for the reference part number, the preferred order in which the interchangeable parts must be considered and the part modification status.
The system updates the part interchangeability rule details and stores the name of the currently logged in user and the current server date.
