Selecting reasons for removal

This page allows you to select a reason that you need to modify. If you know the reason number that you need to modify, you can directly enter it. Otherwise, you can carry out a search based on the reason number, status, description and category. The system displays the reasons that match the filter criteria. You can select the reason for removal and modify it.

Select the “Edit Reasons For Removal” link under the “Common Master” business component.

The “Select Reasons For Removal” page appears.

Enter the following field in the “Direct Entry” group box:

Reason #

The number that identifies the reasons for removal (Alphanumeric, 20).

Select the “Edit Reason #” link displayed alongside to modify the selected reasons for removal.
Enter the following in the “Search Criteria” group box. Entry in these fields is optional.

Reason #	The number to identify the reason for removal (Alphanumeric, 20). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the reasons that are similar to the value entered here. Leave this field blank to retrieve reasons for removal irrespective of the reason number.
Status	Use the drop-down list box to specify the status of the reasons for removal as “Active” or “Inactive”. The system retrieves all the reasons for removal whose status is similar to the value specified here. Leave this field blank if you wish to retrieve reasons for removal irrespective of their status. The system sets the field blank by default.
Reason Description	The textual description of the reasons for removal (Alphanumeric, 255). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all reasons for removal that is similar to the value entered here. Leave this field blank, if you wish to retrieve reasons for removal irrespective of the description.
Reason Category	Use the drop-down list box to specify the reason category. The system lists all the values that are defined for the “Reason Category” attribute in the “Maintain Discrepancy /CR Attributes” activity of the “Common Masters” business component. The system retrieves all the reasons for removal whose category is similar to the value specified here. Leave this field blank if you wish to retrieve reasons for removal irrespective of their category.

Click the “Search” pushbutton to display the search results in the multiline:

The system displays the following:

Reason #	The number identifying the reason for removal.
Reason Description	The textual description of the reason for removal.
Reason Category	The category of the reasons for removal.
Status	The status of the reasons for removal as “Active” or “Inactive”.

Click the hyperlinked reason code in the multiline, to modify the reason for removal.
