Modifying reasons for removal
This page allows you to modify and update the selected reasons for removal. You can modify reason details, such as the status, description and category. The system modifies the reasons and stores the name of the user that last modified the reasons for removal and the current server date as the last modified date.
Select the “Edit Reason #” link in the "Select Reasons For Removal” page. Alternatively, select the hyperlinked reason code in the multiline of the same page.
The “Edit Reasons For Removal” page appears.
The system displays the following:
Date Format |
The format in which the date fields are displayed, in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the "Enterprise Modeling" business component by default. |
The system displays the following in the “Reason For Removal” group box:
Reason # |
The number identifying the reason for removal selected in the “Select Reasons For Removal” page. Mandatory. |
Enter the following:
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to modify the status of the selected reason for removal as “Active” or “Inactive”. The system sets the existing status of the reason by default. |
Set the status as “Inactive” if you wish to disable this reason for removal from future reference in other activities. |

Reason Description |
The description of the selected reason (Alphanumeric, 255). Mandatory. |
Reason Category |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the reason category. The system lists all the values that are defined for the “Reason Category” attribute in the “Maintain Discrepancy /CR Attributes” activity of the “Common Masters” business component. The system sets this field blank by default. |
Reliability Analysis? |
Use the drop -down list box to specify whether the delay code requires reliability analysis or not. The system lists the options “Required” and “Not Required”. The reliability analysis generates the reliability report in the “Reliability Analysis” business component. Airlines use reliability analysis for reducing the maintenance and inventory cost and for regulatory requirement. The system sets the field to “Not Required” by default. |
Removal Type |
Use the drop down list box to modify the type of removal. The system lists the following options:
The system displays “Scheduled” by default. |
Basic Removal |
Use the drop-down list box to specify whether the component is removed for a problem in the same component or not. The system lists the following options:
The system displays “Yes” by default. |
Click the “Edit Reason #” to update the modified reason for removal.
Note: The system updates the modified details and sets the “Last Modified By” field to the login user name and the “Last Modified Date” field to the current server date.
The system displays the following in the “Record Statistics” group box:
Created By |
The name of the user who created the reason for removal. |
Created Date |
The date, in the specified date format, on which the reason was created. |
Last Modified By |
The name of the user who last modified the reason for removal. |
Last Modified Date |
The date, in the specified date format, on which the reason for removal was last modified. |

Change the status of the reason for removal
You can change the status of the reason for removal to either “Active” or “Inactive.
Set the “Status” field to “Active”, if you wish to change the status of the reasons for removal to “Active”.
Set the “Status” field to “Inactive”, if you wish to change the status of the reasons for removal to “Inactive” and disable it from future reference.
Modify the category for reasons for removal
You can modify the category for the reasons for removal based on the quick codes defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity.
Set the appropriate option in the “Reason Category” field in the “Reason For Removal” group box to modify the category for the reasons for removal.
