Selecting the physical inventory plan for entering count results
This page allows you to select the physical inventory plan already defined in the system, for entering the count results. Tell me more
Select the “Enter Physical Inventory Count Results” link under the “Physical Inventory & Cycle Count” business component.
The “Select Physical Inventory Plan” page appears.
Enter the following field in the “Direct Entry” group box:
PI Plan # |
The number that identifies the PI plan for which you need to enter the count results (Alphanumeric, 40). |
Select the “Enter Count Results” link provided alongside, to enter the PI count results.
To search for a PI plan
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box, to search for the PI plan:
PI Plan # |
The number that identifies the PI plan for which you need to enter the count results (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the PI plans with numbers similar to the value specified here. |
Tag # |
The number identifying the tag generated for the PI plan (Alphanumeric, 40). |
Plan Category |
Use the drop-down list to select the category to which the PI plan belongs. The system lists all the “Active” quick codes of type “Plan Category” as defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity of the current business component. The system sets the field blank by default. |
User Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the user-defined status of the PI plan. The system lists all the “Active” quick codes of type “User Status” as defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity of the current business component. The system sets the field blank by default. |
Warehouse # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the warehouse for which the physical inventory plan was generated. If you are working in the Main base, the drop-down list box lists those Active warehouses defined in the Storage Administration component, which are currently not offline and allow “Physical Inventory” transactions. Alternatively, if you are working in a Field base, the drop-down list box displays those Active warehouses mapped to the offline area that allow “Physical Inventory” transactions. The system retrieves all the PI plans for the warehouse specified here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the PI plans irrespective of the warehouse. |
WH – Zone # |
The number that identifies the zone in which the items are stored (Alphanumeric, 10). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the PI plans in which the zone numbers are similar to the value specified here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the PI plans irrespective of the zone number. |
Part # |
The number that identifies the part for which the PI plan was generated (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the PI plans in which the part numbers are similar to the value specified here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the PI plans irrespective of the part number. |
Planned By |
The name of the user who planned the physical inventory you need to modify (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the PI plans in which the planner name is similar to the value specified here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the PI plans irrespective of the planner name. |
Note: You can enter the PI count results for only those PI Plans, for which the generated tags are in “Generated” or “Regenerated” or “Partially Counted” status.
Click the “Search” pushbutton, to search for the PI plan for which you need to enter the count results.
The system displays the following fields in the “Search Results” multiline:

The textual description of the PI plan. |
Warehouse # |
The warehouse for which the PI plan was generated. |
Warehouse Description |
The textual description of the warehouse. |
WH –Zone # |
The zone in the warehouse where the item is stored. |

Plan Status |
The status of the PI plan, which will be “Confirmed or “Partially Counted” |
Click the hyperlinked PI plan number, to enter the count results.
To confirm the PI plan
Select the box for the PI plan that you wish to confirm and then click the “Confirm Results” pushbutton.
On confirmation, the system processes all parts in the PI plan for which Tag Status is Generated or Regenerated in the following way:
Resets the tag status of parts as Closed, Counted or Pending Recount.
Closed, if no discrepancy was found in cycle count of the part or, if negligible discrepancy was found in cycle count that does not exceed tolerance limit or, if negligible discrepancy was found in cycle count that does not exceed tolerance limit.
Counted, if discrepancy was found in the cycle count of the part that exceeds tolerance limit and, if Recount Mandatory is set to Not Required, if discrepancy was found in the cycle count of the part that exceeds tolerance limit and, if Recount Mandatory is set to Not Required.
Pending Recount, if discrepancy was found in cycle count or the part that exceeds tolerance limit and, if Recount Mandatory is set to Required in cycle count or the part that exceeds tolerance limit and, if Recount Mandatory is set to Required.

This page allows you to select the physical inventory plan already defined in the system, for entering the count results.
Note: You can enter the PI count results for only those PI Plans, for which the generated tags are in “Generated” or “Regenerated” or “Partially Counted” status
You can enter the PI plan number directly, if you know it. Otherwise, you can carry out a search based on the number, status and the category of the PI plan. You can also search based on the number, warehouse and zone of the part for which the PI plan was generated. The system retrieves all the physical inventory plans based on the search criteria.
