Setting options for cycle counting
This page enables you to set options for cycle counting.
Select the “Set Cycle Count Options” link under the “Physical Inventory & Cycle Count” business component.
The “Set Options for Cycle Count” page appears.
The system displays the following field:
Date Format |
The format in which the date fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
Enter the following fields in the “Class Basis” group box:
Classification Method |
Use the drop-down list box to select the classification method for which the CC plan must be defined. The system lists “ABC” and “VED” as options and displays “ABC” by default. |
The system displays the following field in the “Tolerance Settings” multiline:
Class |
The class that belongs to the selected classification method. |
Enter the following fields:
Count Tolerance In % |
The minimum adjustment tolerance level in percentage, below or equal to which no adjustment is required for the existing discrepancy (Integer). Mandatory. This value can range between “0” and “100”. |
Count Tolerance In Units |
The minimum adjustment tolerance level in units, below or equal to which no adjustment is required for the existing discrepancy (Integer). Mandatory. Ensure this is a positive value. |
Recount Tolerance In % |
The minimum adjustment tolerance level, below or equal to which no recounting is required for the existing discrepancy (Integer). Mandatory. This value can range between “0” and “100”. |
Recount Tolerance In Units |
The minimum adjustment tolerance level, below or equal to which no recounting is required for the existing discrepancy (Integer). Mandatory. Ensure this is a positive value. |
Note: The part classification and tolerance details of a cycle count plan can be modified only if it is in “Cancelled” or “Closed” status.
Enter the following fields in the “Execution Options” group box:
System Quantity Display |
Use the drop-down list box to specify whether to show or hide the system inventory record of the part. The system provides the options ”Show system quantity” and “Do not show system quantity” and displays “Show system quantity” by default. |
Sheet Level Modification |
Use the drop-down list box and set the field to “Yes” to allow the modification of the “System Quantity display” setting at the user level. Select “No” otherwise. |
Recount Mandatory |
Use the drop-down list box to specify whether recount is mandatory or not. The system displays “Required” by default. |

Sheet Level Modification |
Use the drop-down list box and set the field to “Yes” to allow the modification of the “Recount Mandatory” setting at the user level. Select “No” otherwise. |
Zero Qty Parts / Consumption Period |
Use the drop-down list box to specify whether to “include” or “exclude” zero quantity stock in the cycle count. The system displays “Include” by default. Use the drop-down list box to select the consumption period of the cycle count. The system lists from “I month” to “12 months” as options. The system displays blank by default. |
Sheet Level Modification |
Use the drop-down list box and set the field to “Yes” to allow the modification of the “Zero Qty Parts” setting at user level. Select “No” otherwise. |
Count Entry Mode |
Use the drop-down list box to specify whether to enter count results for all the items or only for the discrepant items. The system lists “All Stock” and “Discrepant Stock” as options and displays “All Stock “ by default. |
Sheet Level Modification |
Use the drop-down list box and set the field to “Yes” to allow the modification of the “Count Entry Mode” setting at the user level. Select “No” otherwise. |
Numbering Type for Auto Stock Correction |
Use the drop-down list box to select the numbering type for the stock correction transaction. The system lists all the numbering types defined in the “Document Numbering Class” business component. |
Modify Random Parts Selection |
Use the drop-down list box and set the field to “Allowed”, to allow the modification of parts selected randomly. Select “Not Allowed” otherwise. The system displays “Not Allowed” by default. |
Closed Plan for Random Parts |
Use the drop-down list box and set the field to “To be Considered”, to consider the parts available in also closed plan for random selection. Select “Not to be Considered”, to omit parts available in closed plan for random selection. The system displays “Not to be Considered” by default. |
Adjustment Value Tolerance |
The minimum tolerance value, below or equal to which adjustment is not required (Integer). |
Note: The execution options of a cycle count plan can be modified irrespective of the document status.
Click the “Set Options” pushbutton, to set the cycle count options.
The system displays the following fields in the ‘Record Statistics” group box:
Last Modified By |
The name of the user who last modified the options. |
Last Modified Date |
The date on which the options were last modified. |
