Modifying a cycle count plan
This page allows you to modify the details of a CC plan. Tell me more
Select the “Edit Cycle Count Plan” link in the “Select Cycle Count Plan” page. Alternatively, click the hyperlinked cycle count number in the multiline of the same page.
The “Edit Cycle Count Plan” page appears.
The system displays the following field:
Date Format |
The format in which the date fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
The system displays the following fields in the “Plan Details” group box:
CC Plan # |
The number identifying the CC plan selected in the previous page, which you need to modify. |
Modify the following fields, if required:
Status |
Use the drop down list box to assign a status for the cycle count plan. The system provides the options “Draft “ and “Fresh”. By default, the system sets the status as “Draft”. |
Note: Set the status as “Fresh”, only when the data entry is complete and the cycle count plan is ready for authorization.
Plan Description |
The textual description of the cycle count plan (Alphanumeric, 150). Mandatory. |
User Status |
Use the drop-down list box to assign a user-defined status to the cycle count plan. The system lists all the “Active” quick codes defined for the user status in the “Create Quick Codes” activity of the current business component. The system leaves the field blank by default. |
CC Plan Level |
Use the drop-down list box to select the storage level at which the cycle count plan must be generated. The system provides the options “Warehouse” and “Warehouse – Zone”. |

The system displays “Warehouse” as plan level by default. |
Note:
If the storage type of the warehouse is “Free”, then the “CC Plan Level” cannot be set to "Warehouse-Zone" or "Warehouse-Zone-Bin".
You must specify the bin or bins that must be associated to the CC plan in the “Associate Bins” tab only if the CC plan level is "Warehouse-Zone-Bin".
Plan Category |
Use the drop-down list to select the category to which the CC plan belongs. The system lists all the “Active” quick codes of type “Plan Category” as defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity of the current business component. The system leaves the field blank by default. |
Planned Start Date |
The starting date of the cycle count plan. (Date Format) Mandatory .The starting date should be equal to or later than the current date |
Planned By |
The name of the user who planned the cycle count (Alphanumeric, 30). Mandatory. Ensure this is a valid user name and already defined in the “Record Personal Information“ activity of the “HRMP” business component and is in the “Active” status. Help facility available. |
Plan group |
Use the drop-down list to select the group to which the CC plan belongs. The system lists all the “Active” quick codes of type “Plan Group” as defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity of the current business component. The system leaves the field blank by default. |
Warehouse # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the warehouse for which the cycle count plan is generated. If you are working in the Main base, the drop-down list box lists those Active warehouses defined in the Storage Administration component, which are currently not offline and allow “Cycle Count” transactions. Alternatively, if you are working in a Field base, the drop-down list box displays those Active warehouses mapped to the offline area that allow “Cycle Count” transactions. |
Note: Ensure that the login user has access rights to the selected warehouse as defined in the “Storage Administration” business component

Modify the following fields, if required:
WH – Zone # |
The number that identifies the zone in which the items are stored (Alphanumeric, 10). Ensure the zone is valid and already defined in the “Create Warehouse Information” of the “Storage Administration” business component. Note: The zone # is mandatory, if the “CC Plan Level” is “Warehouse – Zone” or “Warehouse – Zone – Bin”. If the CC plan level is "Warehouse-Zone-Bin", you must enter a zone of type ‘Normal’ only. Help facility available. |

Modify the following fields in the “Planning Options’ group box, if required:
Note: On launching this page, the system updates the planning options with the details as specified in the “Select Cycle Count” page.
Part Selection Mode |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the part selection mode. The system lists the following options: § Manual – Select this option if the part is to be selected manually from the warehouse for cycle count plan generation. § Random – Select this option if the part is to be selected randomly from the warehouse for cycle count plan generation. By default the system sets this field to “Manual”. To know more… Note: If the part selection mode is set to “Manual”, the system will ignore the sample size entered.

Sample Size |
The number of various parts to be considered for random selection from the warehouse (Integer). The value entered must be greater than zero. Example: If in warehouse “W1”, there exists parts “P1”, “P2”, “P3”, ”P4” and so on and if the sample size is set as “2”, then on random selection, the system will consider any of the above said “2” parts from the warehouse for cycle count plan generation, irrespective of the individual part quantity. This field must be entered, if the part selection mode is set to “Random”. Note: The sample size will be displayed, if the part selection mode is set to “Random” . |
Class |
Use the drop-down list box to select the class for which the CC plan is created. The system lists the classification method defined for the login organization unit in the “Set Cycle Count Options” activity of the current business component. |
Part Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the item for which the CC plan is generated. The system allows selection of predefined part type, which are: “Raw Material”, “Tool”, “Kit”, “Expandable”, “Component”, “Consumable” and “Miscellaneous”. The system sets the field blank by default. |
Part Category |
Use the drop-down list box to select the category of the item for which the CC plan is generated. The system displays all the “Active” quick codes of type “Part Category” as defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity of the “Part Administration” business component. The system sets the field blank by default. |
Part Group |
Use the drop-down list box to select the part group for which the CC plan is generated. The system displays all the valid part groups defined in the “Create Part Groups” activity of the “Part Administration” business component. The system sets the field blank by default. |
Part Classification |
To include parts under a specific classification from the bin in the CC plan, use the drop-down list box to select the part classification. The drop-down list box displays the following: 'Controllable', 'Repairable', 'Rotable' and 'None’. |
Ownership |
To include parts owned by a specific entity from the warehouse/zone/bin in the CC plan, use the drop-down list box to select the ownership type. |
Trading Partner # |
To include parts owned by a specific trading partner from the warehouse/zone/bin in the CC plan, enter the number identifying the trading partner. Help facility available. |
Expense Type |
To include parts with a specific expense type from the warehouse/zone/bin in the CC plan, select the expense type from the drop-down list box. The drop-down list box displays: Capital and Revenue. |
Last Cycle Count Date <= |
The date on which earlier cycle count plans were closed. The earlier dates to the date entered in this field will also be considered, for retrieval of information. |
From Value |
The starting value in the range of the part values. (Alphanumeric, 28), The value entered must be positive starting from 0 or 0.5. |
To Value |
The ending value in the range of the part values. (Alphanumeric, 28). Ensure that the value entered here is a positive value and must start from 0.5. The value entered must be greater than the “From Value”. |
Note: 1) The system considers the ‘From Value’ and ‘To Value’ only if the part selection mode is “Manual”. If the part selection mode is ‘Random’ the system will ignore the values entered. 2) The value of the part refers to the average unit value of the part in stock. For example, if the value of 10 quantities of part P1 is 1000, the average unit value of P1 is 1000/10 = 100.
Select the following to include Capital and New parts in the CC plan.
Automatically associate New Parts |
Select the checkbox to automatically include in the CC plan those parts available in the warehouse/zone/bin that are not associated with the CC plan. |
Include Capital Parts |
Select the checkbox to include parts with expense type ‘Capital’ in the CC plan. The system includes the Capital parts in the CC Plan on selection of this checkbox even if you have specified the From Value and To Value fields. |
Select the “Count Interval Details” tab to know count interval details for the CC plan.
Select the “Associated Bins” tab to associate specific bins in the zone to the CC Plan.
Modify the following fields in the “Other Details” group box, if required:
User Defined Detail – 1 |
Any user–defined details pertaining to the cycle count plan (Alphanumeric, 30). |
User Defined Detail – 2 |
Any user–defined details pertaining to the cycle count plan (Alphanumeric, 30). |
Remarks |
Any additional remarks pertaining to the modification of the cycle count plan (Alphanumeric, 255). |
Enter the following fields in the “Attachment” group box:
File Name |
The name of the file used as reference for the cycle count plan (Alphanumeric, 50). Help facility available. |
Select the “View File” link provided alongside, to view the contents of the reference document.
The system displays the following in the “Record Statistics” group box at the bottom of the page:
Created By |
The name of the user who created the CC plan. |
Created Date |
The date on which the CC plan was created. |
Last Modified By |
The name of the user who last modified the CC plan. |
Last Modified Date |
The date on which the CC plan was last modified. |
To modify cycle count plan
Click the “Edit Cycle Count Plan” pushbutton, to modify the cycle count plan.
Note: For cycle count plan, the system retrieves only those parts for which “Mapping?” is set as “Yes” for the status attribute “Cycle Counting”, in the “Create User Defined Stock Status” activity of the “User Defined Stock Status” business component.
The system updates the modified details and stores the name of the login user and the current server date as the last modified date.
The system ensures the following on clicking the “Edit Cycle Count Plan” pushbutton:
If the part selection mode is “Random”, the planning options should not be modified.
If the part selection mode is “Manual”, then for the warehouse and zone entered, there should be atleast one part which satisfies the “Planning Options” entered, which is not considered in any of the other plans.
If any plans are pending for the warehouse or warehouse-zone or warehous-zone-bin combination as on the current date, the system does not you to create a CC plan as this it would lead to duplication.
Includes only those parts from the warehouse/zone/bin in the CC plan with the stock status mapped
The status attribute ‘Cycle Count’
The transaction ‘Cycle Count’ in the UDSS component
If ‘Zero Qty Parts’ has been set to ‘Include’ for a specific consumption period, the system includes parts from the warehouse/zone/bin in the CC plan even if no stock of these are found in the inventory in the stipulated consumption period prior to the cycle count date. However, if ‘Zero Qty Parts’ is ‘Exclude’, the system excludes parts with zero quantity stock.
To cancel cycle count plan
Click the “Cancel Cycle Count Plan” pushbutton, to cancel the cycle count plan.
The system cancels the CC plan and sets the status as “Cancelled”. You can cancel the CC plan, which is in the “Draft’ or “Fresh” status. However, you cannot cancel a CC plan for which CC sheet is generated. Once cancelled, a plan will not be available for any further transactions.
To modify parts associated to the CC plan
Select the “Associate Parts” link, to associate parts to the CC plan.
To proceed, carry out the following
Select the “Upload Documents” link at the bottom of the page to upload the documents against the cycle count plan.
Select the “View Associated Doc. Attachments” link at the bottom of the page to view the associated document attachments against the cycle count plan.
Modify the plan category and group
You can modify the level at which the CC plan is generated. You can generate a CC plan either at warehouse or zone or at the bin level.
Set the “CC Plan Level” as “Warehouse”, if you wish to create the CC plan at the warehouse level.
Set the “CC Plan Level” as “Warehouse - Zone”, if you wish to create the CC plan at the zone level.
Set the “CC Plan Level” as “Warehouse - Zone – Bin”, if you wish to create the CC Plan at the bin level.
Modify the plan category and group
You can modify the category and group to which the CC plan belongs.
Set the appropriate option in the “Plan Category” field.
Set the appropriate option in the “Plan Group” field.
You can modify class, part category, part type and the part group for which the CC plan is created.
In the “Planning Options” group box,
Set the appropriate option in the “Class” field, to modify the classification method.
Set the appropriate option in the “Part Category” field, to modify the category of the part for which the CC plan is created.
Set the appropriate option in the “Part Type” field, to modify the type of the part for which the CC plan is created.
Set the appropriate option in the “Part Group” field, to modify the group of the part for which the CC plan is created.

Modifying a cycle count plan – An overview
This page allows you to modify the details of a CC plan. You can modify the status, description, plan level, warehouse number, category and group to which the CC plan belongs. You can also change the name of the person who created the CC plan.
This page enables you to modify the class, part category, part type and part group for which the CC plan is created.
You can also cancel a CC plan, in this page. You can cancel a CC plan, which is in the “Draft” or “Fresh” status.
