Associating parts to a cycle count plan
This page allows you to associate parts to a CC plan. You can select and associate only those parts, which are not included in any other CC plan. In this page, you can also change the status of the CC plan from “Draft” to “Fresh”.
Select the “Associate Parts” link in the “Edit Cycle Count Plan” page or “Create Cycle Count Plan” page.
The “Associate Parts to Cycle Count Plan” page appears.
The system displays the following fields in the “Plan Details” group box:
CC Plan # |
The number identifying the CC plan selected in the “Select Cycle Count Plan” page. |
Status |
The status of the CC plan, which could be “Fresh” or “Draft”. |
Plan Description |
The textual description of the cycle count plan. |
Plan Category |
The category to which the CC plan belongs. |
Warehouse # |
The number identifying the warehouse for which the plan is created. |
Note: If the CC Plan Level is 'Warehouse', then for the selected Warehouse the system includes only those parts under the CC plan, for which the stock status is mapped to the attribute type ‘Cycle Count’ and is marked as “Yes”, as defined in the “User Defined Stock Status” business component.
Warehouse Description |
The textual description of the warehouse. |
WH – Zone # |
The number that identifies the zone for which the plan is created. The system leaves this field blank, if the CC plan has been created at the warehouse level. |
Note: If the CC Plan Level is 'Warehouse-Zone', then for the entered “Warehouse-Zone #” the system includes only those parts under the CC plan, for which the stock status is mapped to the attribute type “Cycle Count’ and is marked as “Yes”, as defined in the “User Defined Stock Status” business component.
Zone Description |
The textual description of the zone. The system leaves this field blank, if the CC plan has been created at the warehouse level. |
The system displays the following fields in the “Planning Options” group box:
Class |
The classification method to which the CC plan belongs, as defined for the login organization in the “Set Cycle count Options” activity of the current business component. This could be “ABC” or VED”. |
Part Category |
The category of the item for which the CC plan is generated. |
Part Type |
The type of the item for which the CC plan is generated. |
Part Group |
The part group for which the CC plan is generated. |
Part Selection Mode |
The part selection mode, which could be “Manual” or “Random”. |
Sample Size |
The sample size of the stock considered for random selection of the parts. |
Ownership |
The ownership type of the parts included in the CC plan from the warehouse/zone/bin. |
Trading Partner # |
The trading partner that owns the parts included in the CC plan from the warehouse/zone/bin. Help facility available. |
Click the “Get Uncovered Parts“ pushbutton to retrieve the details of the parts that are not covered in the plan.
Note: The parts of unit cost that satisfies the value in the range of “From Value” and “To Value” must be considered, if the search result changes. However, if the “Include Capital Parts” check box is selected in the “Edit Cycle Count Plan” page, the Capital parts from the warehouse-zone-bin are included in the CC plan regardless of the From Value” and “To Value” fields.
The system includes the Capital parts in the CC Plan on selection of this checkbox even if you have specified the From Value and To Value fields.
Note: The system retrieves only those parts for which “Mapping?” is set as “Yes” for the status attribute “Cycle Counting”, in the “Create User Defined Stock Status” activity of the “User Defined Stock Status” business component.
The system performs the following on clicking the “Get Uncovered Parts” pushbutton based on the part selection mode:
If the part selection mode is 'Manual' then the system retrieves the details of all the parts from the requested warehouse-zone-bin combination,
a. that satisfy the planning options and are not already associated to the current plan, and
b. that are associated with plans, which are not in “Closed” status.
If the part selection mode is “Random” and if the “Closed Part for Random Parts” option is set as “To be Considered” in the “ Set Cycle Count Options” activity, then the system retrieves the parts from the requested warehouse-zone-bin combination,
a. that satisfy the planning options and are not associated with the current plan, and
b. parts that are associated with plans which are in “Closed” status.
If the part selection mode is “Random” and if the “Closed Part for Random Parts” option is set as “Not To be Considered” in the “ Set Cycle Count Options” activity, then the system retrieves the parts,
a. that satisfy the planning options and are not associated with the current plan, and
b. that are associated with plans, which are not in “Closed” status.
The system displays the following fields in the “Part Information” multiline:
Note: The system displays 100 records at a time in the multiline.
Part # |
The number identifying the part that is associated to the CC plan. Click on the data hyperlink to open the “View Parts Information” page. |
Part Description |
The textual description of the part. |
Class |
The class to which the part belongs. |
Count Interval (Days) |
The number of days after which the cycle count must be repeated for the part. |
Last Counted on |
The date on which the part was last counted. |
Next Due On |
The date on which the part will be due for next counting. |
Count Status |
The count status of the plan. |
Last Count Sheet # |
The number identifying the last count sheet. |
To view subsequent set of records
Click the "Previous" pushbutton, to view the set of records prior to the set of records displayed in the multiline.
Click the "Next" pushbutton, to view the set of records next to the set of records displayed in the multiline.
For example if there exists 200 records, and if records 1-100 are currently displayed in the multiline, then on clicking the “Next” pushbutton the system displays the next set of records i.e. records 101-200 in the multiline.
Similarly if records 101-200 are currently displayed in the multilane, then on clicking the “Previous” pushbutton the system displays the previous set of records i.e. records 1-100 in the multiline.
Note: The system displays an error message on clicking the “Previous” and “Next” pushbuttons respectively when there exists no set of records prior and next to the set of records currently displayed.
Enter the following:
Convert Plan Status to Fresh |
Check this box, if you wish to change the status of the CC plan as “Fresh”. |
Click the Delete icon in the tool bar above the multiline, to delete the parts selected in the multiline.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline, to select a part for cancellation, or to select the part for associating to the CC plan.
Click the “Associate Parts” pushbutton, to add the selected parts to the CC plan.
The system associates the selected parts with the CC plan.
The system performs the following on clicking the “Associate Parts” pushbutton:
If the part selection mode is set as "Manual", the selected parts can be associated with the Cycle Count Plan . Note: If Uncovered Parts is executed prior to the Associate Parts, then new parts satisfying the “Planning Options “, will be retrieved. If any date exists for the ‘Last Cycle Count date<=’ field, then the same will be considered for retrieval of information.
If the part selection mode is “Random” and “Modify Random Part Selection” option is set as “Allowed” in the “Set Cycle Count Options” activity, then using random selection, the uncovered parts can be associated along with the parts that are already added to the current plan.
If the part selection mode is “Random” and “Modify Random Part Selection” option is set as “Not Allowed” in the “Set Cycle Count Options” activity then,
a. The uncovered parts cannot be deleted or modified.
b. The uncovered parts cannot be associated with this plan.

You can specify the parts for which the CC plan is created. The details of the CC plan and the planning options are displayed from the previous page.
Click the “Get Uncovered parts“ pushbutton to retrieve the details of the parts that are not covered in the plan.
The part details are displayed in the multiline.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline, to select the parts for associating to the CC plan.
Click the “Associate Parts” pushbutton, to add the selected parts to the CC plan.
Change the status of the CC plan
After associating the parts to the CC plan, you can change the status of the CC plan from “Draft” to “Fresh”.
Check the “Convert Plan Status To Fresh” box below the multiline, to change the status of the CC plan from “Draft” to “Fresh”.
A CC plan in the “Fresh” status is ready for authorization.
