Selecting component for modification

This page allows you to select a component for which you wish to modify the details. Tell me more.

Select the ”Edit Component Record” under the “Aircraft” business component.

The “Select Component” page appears.

Enter the following in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for a component. Data entry in the following fields is optional:

Component #	The component for which the details are to be retrieved (Alphanumeric, 90). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system lists all the component numbers that are similar to the value entered here.
Record Status	Use the drop-down list box to specify the status of the component record to be modified, which could be “Active” or “Inactive”. The system lists all those components that are in the status specified here. Leave this field blank if you wish to retrieve details of components irrespective of their status. The system sets the field to “Active” by default.
Part #	The part to which the component belongs (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the part number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the components belonging to this part. Note
Mfr. Part #/Mfr. #	The manufacturer part number of the part related to the component in the first input box (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the Mfr. part number in full or specify it partially using the “” character. In the second input box, specify the manufacturer number of the part. You can enter the manufacturer number in full or specify it partially using the “” character. The system retrieves all components whose manufacturer part numbers and manufacturer numbers are similar to the value entered here. Note
Serial #	The serial number of the part for which the component details are to be retrieved (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using “*” character. The system retrieves all the components that are of the serial number entered here.
NHA Part #	The parent part number of the position code and the associated part, which is otherwise called the next higher assembly, to which the component belongs (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the components belonging to the NHA, as defined in the part configuration hierarchy. Note
NHA Mfr. Part #/NHA Part Mfr. #	The manufacturer part # of the parent part or next higher assembly in the first input box (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the part# allotted by the manufacturer to the parent part in full or specify it partially using the “” character. The system retrieves all parts with parent parts whose manufacturer part numbers are similar to the value entered here. ATA #	The ATA chapter to which the component belongs (Alphanumeric, 16). You can enter the ATA chapter number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the components whose ATA chapter numbers are similar to the number entered here.
Part Classification	Use the drop-down list box to select classification of the part, which could be “Rotable”, “Repairable” or “Controllable”. The system retrieves the components that are of the item specified here. The system displays “Rotable” by default. Leave this field blank to retrieve details of all parts, irrespective of the classification. Leave this field blank to retrieve details of all parts, irrespective of the classification.
Component Type	Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the component, which could be “Engine”, “APU”, “Landing Gear” or “Others”. The system retrieves the components that are of the type specified here. Leave this field blank if you wish to retrieve the details of the component irrespective of the type.
Customer	The number identifying the customer (Alphanumeric, 18). You can enter the customer number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all components associated to the customer number entered here.
Customer Name	The name of the customer (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the customer name in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all components associated to the customer name entered here.

Note: If all the fields are left blank, the system lists all the components that are defined in the organizational unit you have logged into.

Click the “Search” button to display the search results.

The system displays the following in the “Search Results” multiline:

Component #	The number identifying the component.
Part #	The part to which the component belongs.
Mfr. Part #	The manufacturer part number of the component.
Mfr. #	The manufacturer number of the component.
Serial #	The serial number of the component.
Part Classification	The classification of the part, which could be “Rotable”, “Repairable” or “Controllable”.
ATA #	The ATA chapter to which the component belongs.
Record Status	The status of the component record, which could be “Active” or “Inactive”.
Part Description	The textual description of the part.
Component Type	The type of the component, which could be “Engine”, “APU”, “Landing Gear” or "Others".
NHA Part #	The parent part number of the position code and the associated part, which is otherwise called the next higher assembly.
NHA Mfr. Part #	The manufacturer part number of the parent part, which is also referred to as the next higher assembly.
NHA Part Mfr. #	The manufacturer # of the parent part of the component, which is also referred to as the next higher assembly.
Customer	The number identifying the customer.
Customer Name	The name of the customer.

Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select the component to be modified.

To proceed, carry out the following

Select the “Edit Component Record” link at the bottom of the page to modify the details of the selected component.
Select the “Edit Technical & Attribute Parameters” link at the bottom of the page to add or modify the technical and attribute parameter details.
Select the “Edit Consumption & Range Parameters” link at the bottom of the page to add or modify the consumption and range parameter details.
Select the “Initialize & Update Component Configuration” link at the bottom of the page to modify configuration details of the selected component.

Selecting component for modification – An overview

If you know the component number, you can directly enter it. Otherwise, you can carry out a search based on the component number, status, part number, the ATA chapter to which the component belongs and the component type. The details of the selected component, such as its number, part to which it is associated, serial number of the component, component type, the ATA chapter to which the component belongs, status and description are displayed.
