Changing aircraft registration number

Select the “Change Aircraft Reg #” link in the "Select Aircraft" page. Alternatively, select the hyperlinked aircraft registration number in the same page.
The “Create Aircraft Reg #” page appears.
Note: You cannot launch the “Change Aircraft Reg #” page, if the registration number change process is still in progress for any aircraft.
The system displays the following:
Date & Time Format |
The format in which the date and time fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
The system displays the following fields in the “Aircraft Details” group box:
Aircraft Reg # |
The aircraft registration number that is to be changed. |
Record Status |
The status of the aircraft record, which could be “Under Creation” or “Active”. |
Aircraft Model # |
The model to which the aircraft belongs. |
Manufacturer Serial # |
The MSN, or the manufacturer’s serial number given to the aircraft by the manufacturer at the time of production. |
Station |
The name of the station that is mapped to the login organization unit in the “Enterprise Setup” business component. |
Enter the following field in the “Aircraft Identifier Change Details” group box:
Aircraft Reg # |
The new registration number of the aircraft (Alphanumeric, 30). Mandatory. Ensure that the aircraft registration number entered is unique and different from the aircraft registration number specified in the “Aircraft Details” group box. |
The system displays the following field in the “Aircraft Identifier Change Details” group box:
Record Status |
The status of the newly created aircraft record, which could be “Under Creation” or “Active”. |
Enter the following fields:
Nose |
The nose number of the aircraft is an aircraft identifier, which is primarily used by the marketing department of an airline (Alphanumeric, 30). Mandatory. |
Note: Ensure that the “Nose #” entered is not applicable for any other aircraft manufacturer serial number.
Variable Tab # |
The unique tab number of the aircraft (Alphanumeric, 30). Mandatory. The variable tab number is one of the identifiers of the aircraft. |
Note: If you are specifying a new variable tab number, ensure that the tab number is unique for the manufacturer number associated to the aircraft model.
Enter the following fields in the “Regulatory Certificate Change Details” group box:
Regulatory Authority |
Use the drop-down list box to select the regulatory authority to which the aircraft belongs. Regulatory Authorities are the statutory bodies responsible for laying, implementing and monitoring of standards regarding airworthiness of the aircraft. The system lists all the regulatory authority codes that are in “Active” status, as defined in the “Create Regulatory Authority Codes” activity of the “Common Masters” business component. Mandatory. |
Reg. Cert # |
The number identifying the registration certificate of the aircraft (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. Ensure that the registration certificate number is unique for the aircraft manufacturer serial number. Data entry in this field is mandatory, if the “Engagement Type” of the aircraft registration number specified in the “Aircraft Details” group box is “Full Maintenance”. |
Issue Date |
The date on which the registration certificate is issued to the aircraft (Date Format). |

Use the drop-down list box to indicate the ownership type of the aircraft. The system provides the following options:

Use the drop-down list box to select the type of lease, if you have selected “Leased” or “Leased out” in the “Aircraft Ownership” field. The system provides the following options:

Owning Agency |
The code identifying the agency that owns the aircraft (Alphanumeric, 45). Ensure that the value entered here is an active customer code as defined in the “Customer” business component. Help facility available. |

Effective from Date/Time |
The date and time from which the newly created aircraft registration number is effective (Date & Time Format). Mandatory. |

Time Zone |
The time zone that is mapped to the station in the “Common Masters” business component. |
Enter the following fields:
Replacement Reason # |
The unique number identifying the reason for removal of a component from the aircraft (Alphanumeric, 20). Mandatory. Ensure that replacement reason number entered here is active as defined in the “Create Reasons For Removal” activity of the “Common Masters” business component. Help facility available. |
Change Reason |
The reason for changing the aircraft registration number (Alphanumeric, 255). Mandatory |

Transaction # |
The number identifying the transaction document. |
The system displays the following in the “Transaction #” field:
All the visit package numbers that are in “Fresh”, “Confirmed” or “Partly Released” status, if the “Transaction” is “Visit Package”.
All the component replacement numbers that are in “Fresh” or “Removed” status, if the “Transaction” is “Component Replacement".
Note: The system considers all the component replacements that are created in the “Component Replacement” business component, and other business components such as “Flight Log” and “Hangar Work Reporting”.
All the journey log numbers that are in “Fresh” or “Under Amendment” status, if the “Transaction” is “Journey Log”.
All the technical log numbers that are in “Fresh” status, if the “Transaction” is “Technical Log”.
All the hangar work order numbers that are in “Fresh”, “Scheduled” or “In-Progress” status, if the “Transaction” is “Hangar Work Order”.
All the certificate of maintenance numbers that are in “Fresh” status in the “Hangar Work Reporting” business component, if the “Transaction” is “Certificate of Maintenance”.
All the engineering Orders that are in “Released” status and whose compliance is marked as “Not Complied”, if the “Transaction” is “Engineering Document".
All the fleet campaign directives that are in “Release” status and whose compliance is marked as ”Not Complied”, if the “Transaction” is “Fleet Campaign Directive”.
All the flight sheets that are in “Fresh”, “Confirmed”, or “Under Amendment” status, if the “Transaction” is “Flight Sheet”.
All the discrepancies that are in “Pending” or “Under Resolution” status, if the “Transaction” is “Discrepancy”.
All the maintenance reports that are in “Pending” or “Under Resolution” status, if the “Transaction” is “Deferred Discrepancy”.
All the maintenance material requests that are in “Authorized” status in the “Material Request” business component and all the maintenance material requests that are in “Fresh” status in the “Hangar Work Order” business component, if the “Transaction” is “Maintenance Material Request”.
All the occurrence reports with occurrence type “Aircraft-Related Maintenance” or “Unscheduled Maintenance” available in “Confirmed” status, if the “Transaction” is “Occurrence Report”.
The system displays the following fields:
Revision # |
The revision number of the transaction document. |
Transaction Date |
The date on which the transaction document was created. |
Current Status |
The status of the transaction document as on the current server date and time. |
Note: For “Engineering Document” transaction, if an eng.document work unit is allocated to the transaction document, the system displays “Allocated” in the “Current Status” field. Else the system displays “Not Complied”.
For “Fleet Campaign Directive” transaction, if a fleet campaign directive (FCD) work unit is allocated to the transaction document, the system displays “Allocated” in the “Current Status” field. Else, the system displays “Not Complied”.
Termination Mandatory? |
The system displays “Yes” or “No”, to indicate whether termination of the transaction is mandatory or not. |
Action By |
Indicates whether the termination of the transaction must be performed by the “User” or the “System”. |
Note: For “Maintenance Material Request” transaction, the system displays “User” in the “Action By” field, if the material request documents refer hangar work order or technical log. Else the system displays “System”.
Changing aircraft registration number
Click the “Change Reg. #” pushbutton to change the registration number of the aircraft.
The system performs the following:
Creates new aircraft registration number in “Under Creation” status as specified in the “Aircraft Identifier Change Details” group box.
Copies the aircraft details such as aircraft model number, manufacturer serial number, PBH details, configuration class, logical structure of the aircraft configuration and parameter details, from the previous aircraft registration number to the new aircraft registration number.
Note: If the configuration has been revised for the previous registration number, the system copies the latest revision of the configuration details to the new aircraft registration number, but maintains its revision number as “0”.
Updates the value entered in the “Effective From Date / Time” field as the operational date of the new aircraft registration number.
Confirming change in aircraft registration number
Click the “Confirm” pushbutton to confirm the change in the registration number of the aircraft.
Note: You can confirm the change in registration number of the aircraft only if all the transactions are in “Closed” status.
On confirmation of the change in aircraft registration number, the new aircraft registration number will be activated and the previous aircraft registration number will be inactivated.
The system performs the following:
Creates new component replacement transactions for the components that are updated to the new aircraft registration number from the previous aircraft registration number
Updates the parameter value available for the previous aircraft as on the “Effective Date/Time”, as the present value for the parameters of the new aircraft registration number. The “As Of Date” and “As Of Time” is also updated with the effective date and time.
Associates the new aircraft registration number to all the aircraft maintenance programs to which the previous aircraft registration number was associated. Copies the work units and schedule information from the previous registration number to the new aircraft registration number.
Copies the last performed and next due values for date-based, usage-based or date and usage based work units, from the previous aircraft registration number to the new aircraft registration number as on the specified “Effective Date/Time".
Adds the new aircraft registration number in the same sub-fleet as that of the previous aircraft registration number in the “Aircraft Maintenance Forecast” business component.
If the previous aircraft registration number is present in the effectivity of any task, standard procedure, work package, engineering advice note, maintenance change request, eng.document and FCD, then the new aircraft registration number will be appended to that effectivity list in the respective business components.
If any direct eng.document or FCD job is available for the previous aircraft registration number in the aircraft pending tray of the "Central Planning" business component, then the new aircraft registration number will be updated for these jobs in the in the "Central Planning" business component.
Updates the discrepancies and deferred discrepancies in “Pending” status that are reported for the previous aircraft registration number to the new aircraft registration number.
Adds the new aircraft registration number in the same reliability fleet as that of the previous aircraft registration number in the “Reliability Setup” business component.
Updates the material request documents that refer the previous aircraft registration number, with the newly created aircraft registration number.
Canceling the change in aircraft registration number
Click the “Cancel” pushbutton to cancel the change in the aircraft registration number.
Note: You can cancel the aircraft registration number change process, only if the record status of the newly created aircraft registration number is “Under Creation” and if the newly created aircraft record is not yet confirmed.
The system displays the following fields in the “Record Statistics” group box:

Changing aircraft registration number – An overview
This page allows you to change the registration number of an existing aircraft. You can assign a unique registration number for the aircraft and enter other details of the aircraft. The system displays the details of the previous aircraft registration number. You can enter the details such as variable tab number and nose number, which is primary used by marketing department for easy identification of the aircraft.
The ownership details of the aircraft, such as the registration certificate number, date of issue of the certificate, and the regulatory authority of the aircraft can be entered. If the aircraft has been taken on lease or if it was leased out to another airline operator, the type of the lease should be specified.
The system copies the aircraft details, configuration details, parameter details and other details of the previous aircraft registration number to the new aircraft registration number.
