Set Role To User OU Mapping – A summary of the activity
This activity allows you to map any predefined role to a predefined user and OU combination. The combination of role and user-OU mapping decides the components and activities accessible during login.
Select the “Set Role To User OU Mapping” link under the “Administration Process” business component.
The “Set Role To User OU Mapping” page appears.
- Clicking this icon available near certain fields takes you to the help page of the respective field.
Enter the following details in the header:
Role Name |
A unique name identifying the role to which the combination of user and OU has to be mapped. Mandatory |
The system displays the following in the header.
Role Description |
The detailed description of the role. |
Enter the following details in the header:
Detailed Fetch |
Select the check box to fetch the detailed details of the selected role. |
Note:
1. If the detailed fetch is selected the system fetches all the role and OU combinations irrespective of role mapping.
2. If the detailed fetch is not selected the system fetches only one row for a specific role mapped to the valid OU’s.
To fetch the role user details
Click the “Fetch Role User Mapping” pushbutton to fetch the default password policy details.
The system retrieves the details and displays in the multiline.
Enter the following details in the multiline:
User Name |
The unique name identifying the user to whom the preferred role is mapped. Mandatory |
Full Name |
The full name of the user. |
OU Instance |
The unique name identifying the organization unit (OU) under which the user is defined. This field is mandatory when the All OU’s field is unchecked. |
OU Instance Desc. |
The detailed description of OU instance. |
All OUs |
Select the check box to indicate that all the organization units mapped under the particular user have to be mapped to the specified role. |
To save the role user mapping details
Click the “Save Role User Mapping” pushbutton to save the user details mapped to the respective role.
The system saves the details of mapping the predefined role to the predefined user and OU instances and also saves the combination of component and activity assigned to the particular role of the user.
